Wendy, Ugh, that day was the worst. I am so careful now about getting overheated and try and stay well hydrated. I've also added more salt to my diet which has helped a lot!

Low blood pressure and low potassium levels go hand in hand. I've also made a trip to the ER for dehydration and bottomed out potassium (from using my albuterol inhaler, causes a potassium shift).

Erik, Oh gosh, I am so sorry. I hope you're doing okay now. I had no idea how important it was to keep those electrolytes in balance, but I definitely learned my lesson that day! Again, hope you're all healed and listening to your body. Take care.

Hey, I know this is an old post - but I just had the same exact experience a few weeks ago. I went for a middle-range distance run (12 miles) without getting enough electrolytes before and after the run - and I hit the wall like nothing else. I was severely dehydrated and vomiting so profusely that it ripped a small hole in my esophagus, so I was dehydrated as well as bleeding internally. Three fun-filled days in the ICU!
