I just found kabocha. So excited!
I’m not to much of a gardner.. do you have a garden of some sort?
I purposely dispursed some of the seeds from those watermelons from the farm in my yard in hopes some of them might “take” next spring. I wonder if kabocha seeds would do the same if i threw them out in the yard? I know regular yellow squash is easy to grow, not sure about the kabocha.
JacobC,I have no green thumb whatsoever, but CD was thinking of doing the same thing with the watermelon seeds. So funny. Not sure about the squash, but definitely worth a try! As far as anniversary plans go, we’re going out to eat at Park Cafe in Sylvan Park. My favorite restaurant in Nashville, and our wedding ceremony took place on their back patio.

On a squash note, can you roast the kabocha whole? Butternuts are a bitch to cut too, but I discovered that you could actually roast them whole, making them uber-easy to cut!

I was at wholefoods yesterday and forgot about the creamer! But I did notice So Delicious now carries Coconut Milk Keifer. I didn’t pick it up because it have no protein and a whole lot of sugar! I was eying for the vanilla flavor which I think may be good in oatmeal or a smoothie and can up the protein with with those items.

Hey Erika,I add nothing to my squash. Just chop and place on parchment lined baking sheet in a 425 degree oven for about 50 to 60 minutes. Perfect on its own in my opinion.

Carolyn, You are too funny. We ordered the crab cakes – oh my gosh, so rich and good. For dinner, I had one of the specials – mahi mahi, and I ordered a side of Schezwan green beans (amazing – get them every time I go there). No Bananas Foster…we were stuffed!

Great Haiku! I love writing them…there’s just something about the syllable constraints that really concentrates the essence of the creative process of poetry…they’re always so beautiful or amusing, depending on the author’s intent.
Ahh, why oh why have I never seen a Kabocha squash!? Virtually every other type in UK supermarkets, but never the sqaush King (Queen?)
