We had a great time, ate some good food, hung out with old friends. However, a thought crossed my mind while I perused the menu at J. Alexanders. I do not eat normal things. Ha ha, most of you probably already knew this, but in my mind there is nothing unusual about…

What if there was a restaurant that actually served food like this? Is there? Not in Nashville. My restaurant would offer all kinds of cooked grains with various toppings. Side items would include tahini, almond butter (yes, those are totally side-worthy, don’t you think?), chopped avocados, steamed veggies that will NOT arrive to the table sitting in a pool of butter, and winter squash fries. There would be lattes and cappuccinos made with coconut or rice milk. There would be all kinds of vegan dishes made WITHOUT soy or seitan as well as organic grass-fed finished meats. Hehe – my restaurant would probably be kind of pricey, but you would dine at HEAB’s place? I’d make you a bowl of green oats. 😉
P.S. – Make the bread in this post. It’s unbelievably easy and so good.
P.P.S. – Quinoa is not nearly as filling as oat bran.
