The brilliant Zesty Cook and I have been working on a new blog layout for HEAB (OK, so Zesty is doing all the work, but it’s fun to think I contributed something), and I decided I wanted to update my picture of almond butter as well. Perhaps something a little more natural looking, don’t you think?
When I asked for photos from you guys, I received several. Thank you so much. The only problem is that I love them all and cannot decide which one to use. So, I’m going to let my readers choose. I’ll announce the winner tomorrow along with the photographer of each picture. Please vote and let me know what you think. The winner will receive my eternal gratitude as well as a batch of Maple Nut Oaties.

Dates and Raisins are great! Why do you not buy these usually? Good stuff!
If you can get a jar or Raw MaraNatha Almond Butter you might get the best picture. Roasted is amazing, but looks darker and not as nice.
Thanks the recommendation Anne – I love Maranatha! I never buy dates and raisins b/c I eat them all…way too fast.

Heather, I am the same way with raisins. But here is a tip. Add raisins to your oats and breakfast cereals (I use a ton, but if you do not want it crowded, then it makes it easier to not eat them). Medjool dates are awesome and real fat. I take two big fat ones and eat them with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter or almond butter in between bread. Or you can just eat the dates + nut butter for a snack. Bite off a bit of the date and scoop the almond butter on top and eat. Its the best in a sandwich or cereal though.
Anne, Yes, I love nut butters with Medjool dates, or just shoving a pecan or Brazil nut in the middle. Thanks for the oatmeal tip!

I’m heading down to my mom’s in Indio, CA – DATE COUNTRY!!!! Let me know if I can pick you up a bag (she sends 10 lb ones for Xmas!). I just read a big date article, and I guess the Bahir are amazing, though the Medjool is the easiest to find down there. Hmm, I’ll have to do a date post when I get back.

Tiffany, Ha ha – yes, I love dates, but I avoid buying them. They call my name from the kitchen, and I end up ODing on them. So yummy!

I love them all – tough b/w 1, 3 & 4…but I went with 4…which was weird cause I was realllly close to #1 ! But whatever it’ll be will be fabulous…now what happens if you (gasp) ever get sick of AB!!?? Haha- do you like other nut butters though really? I love them all – just tried Cashew and new addiction…I’ve went through the jar in a week – oops – an expensive vice unfortunately.
