Nutella Perfected

Remember my homemade vegan Nutella?

IMG_3623.JPG

It was so yummy but a little a difficult to spread. Enter Katie’s favorite rice milk...

IMG_3648.JPG

My favorite as well Katie! I simply blended 1 cup of the rice milk with my Nutella in the Vitamix, and voila…

IMG_3649.JPG

It’s like my ABU, but with vegan Nutella instead of almond butter. NBU? NTU? Nuts4U? Nutella Sauce? I don’t know – what do you think I should call it?

One thing I do know is that it’s delicious!

IMG_3650.JPG

First I tried it on a Cinna-Monster Apple, and then I had more on my Protein Ice-Cream with cinnamon.

IMG_3663.JPG

I’m in love, and now I’m going to have to talk to my local Costco about carrying hazelnuts. :)

How are your recipes coming along for my POM Wonderful pomegranate giveaway? Remember, the contest ends this Sunday night, and I can’t wait to see some of your creative ideas.

P.S. Have you entered this giveaway yet?!? I’m dying for a Magic Bullet!

P.P.S. I love Einstein. :)

vegan nutella is genius. turning it into VNBU (vin-boo) is even more genius. and that wig night with your friends is AWESOME – that sounds like something my friends would (and now WILL) do soon! have a wonderful day!

  25. 2009 November 11

My co-worker clipped a Nutella recipe for me the other day. It was in the Balt Sun I think. But, I am too lazy to make it. I will enjoy the pics of yours though :)

  28. 2009 November 11

Mmmm that looks like an excellent replacement for Nutella….especially love the idea of Nutbu. hehehe

I definitely looked up your post on how to make this and i’m glad to know that you have to churn for a really really long time! hahah good thing the motor didn’t actually die on you! That wouldn’t have been too awesome. :)

Thank you again for sharing more wonderful idea Heatherboo! Have a lovely day!

Ah-HA! That’s just what I needed to thin out my cocoa almond butter in my recipe entry! I knew it needed a little liquid added, but I never thought to add rice milk. I’m assuming almond milk would work as well? Hmm, I will have to experiment with this further! Thanks for the idea.

    Have a great day Heather!

  43. 2009 November 11

as always, you’ve won me over with your oh so fab recipes.
    happy wednesday my dear!

  44. 2009 November 11

I’ve had the same “spread-ing” issues with my homemade nutella, so I’m totally going to give this a go once I get back into my kitchen. THANK YOU THANK YOU!

    Heather,

Not sure if you will get a chance to answer this, but I am thinking of buying the vitamix and I just want to get your opinion if its worth it. I know you do a lot with it, but in addition to a vitamix do you own a food processor? I can only afford to by a really good vitamix or food processor and am at a loss.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

  46. 2009 November 11

Gotta make this homemade Nutella as I am not getting near the stuff you find on the grocery store shelves. I am a huge fan of nuts, unsweetened cocoa powder and Stevia. Today I picked up a container of NuNaturals stevia. Added it to an applesauce and oatmeal recipe……to be posted soon!!! Love that u post daily, want to fit that into my crazy days!!
How long can u store this Nutella in the fridge….with the rice milk in it??

  47. 2009 November 11

By the way, the new site looks great!!

  48. 2009 November 11

    I like Nuts4U :-)

Apple goes so well with the cinnamon! so addicted!

  49. 2009 November 11

I love the Nutella Sauce! Definitely need to make it! :)

  50. 2009 November 11

I want to come up with something to make these nut butters creamy but still either shelf-stable or something that won’t go bad as quickly as any “milk” will. Water- bleh. Torani, yes but chemically. WHAT!?? Help heabs?!

  51. 2009 November 11

    hahah i personally like “nuts4u” ;)
love the pic of you and your pupper! so cute
have a great night, friend :D

  52. 2009 November 11

Hey Heather – great creation! Maybe you could market it ;) . THANK YOU for informing me of the yogadownload.com – I love it!! I do try to get to studios, but it can be so time-consuming, so I like to practice at home if I can…I have DVD’s, but get bored after awhile – plus, they’re usually hit or miss…sometimes I’ll do my own ‘freestyle’ , but I like to have something ‘organized’ and to follow at times – for motivation. This site is going to be great!! I tried the ‘Core Strengthening’ 20-min free one today – super quick before work and just lovely :) Okay…sorry for the novel, haha!

  53. 2009 November 11

24 Carrots, Oh my, it it ever worth it! However, I will be honest, I use both my food processor and Vita-Mix everyday. Honestly, I might go with a really good food processor over the Vita. I use my food processor for homemade nut butters, chopping, pureeing squash, raw soft serve ice-creams, etc. Yep, I’d go with the food processor, and as long as you have a somewhat good blender for smoothies, life is good. :)

  54. 2009 November 11

Deb, I have the answer, but you won’t like the calories. Coconut oil.

  55. 2009 November 11

Marla, Not sure – 7 days maybe…if it lasts that long. :)

I like Nuts4U the best :) That looks super good! I’ve been debating if I should get a jar of Nutella…not sure if I should keep it around! haha

  60. 2009 November 13

    I think I vote Nuts4U, too.

But who cares about the name — looks AMAZING!

  61. 2009 November 16

Oh my goodness, I love Nutella but I recently went vegan so this is perfect for me!! Thanks so much Heather :)
