Nutella Perfected
Remember my homemade vegan Nutella?

It was so yummy but a little a difficult to spread. Enter Katie’s favorite rice milk...

My favorite as well Katie! I simply blended 1 cup of the rice milk with my Nutella in the Vitamix, and voila…

It’s like my ABU, but with vegan Nutella instead of almond butter. NBU? NTU? Nuts4U? Nutella Sauce? I don’t know – what do you think I should call it?
One thing I do know is that it’s delicious!

First I tried it on a Cinna-Monster Apple, and then I had more on my Protein Ice-Cream with cinnamon.

I’m in love, and now I’m going to have to talk to my local Costco about carrying hazelnuts.
How are your recipes coming along for my POM Wonderful pomegranate giveaway? Remember, the contest ends this Sunday night, and I can’t wait to see some of your creative ideas.
P.S. Have you entered this giveaway yet?!? I’m dying for a Magic Bullet!
P.P.S. I love Einstein.

Nutella sounds incredible! How ’bout some kabocha? Yeah, it’s up: bit.ly/1wZ2Ld
I think Nutella Sauce is a good name
owwww Josh would LOVE this- he is a major nutella fan. Great idea to add the rice milk.
How are things out your way? Work going well?
I’m loving the homemade nutella. I prefer my nutbutters to be more ’spreadable’, too. Looks so yummy.
BAHAHAHA love the photo of you and Einstein
I think you should call it Nutellabu
Erica, You should totally make this for Josh, or even better, I’ll make him some and give it to you guys later this month. Can’t wait to see ya! Work is going okay. Usually only working in the afternoons and early evenings. No one wants a massage in the morning.
fitforfree, I like it.
Your homemade nutella looks so good and creamy!! PS. That pic of you and Einstein is so cute! What a great dog’s name, too.
(or maybe Nutellhabu, for the hazelnuts!)
Hmm… im drawing a blank for your concoction… looks amazing though!!
Apparently kabocha is nowhere to be found in my normal markets, so once i go to the Japanese market, kabocha soup here i come!!
MMM I love your ABU… and I just know I will love NBU/Nutella sauce. MMM chocolate.

Maybe I’d like that better then the Nutella version?
That dog is adorable. so handsome! Trading in CD are we?
Nutella sauce?! I think that might be your best creation yet. Oh no, wait, how could I forget the Oaties?
I just made a Wild Bar sauce, and I was thinking of putting it on Brownie Batter pancakes… but now I think I’ll abanandon that idea and try your sauce on the pancakes instead!
And as usual, I can never repay your kindness!
Oh, and Molly and Henry say HI to Einstein
. They want to play!
Katie, Nah, as much as I love my pups, I think I’ll keep CD around.
How about “Nutella Like it is”? Tee hee…
Good one Diana!
I would die is Costco started carrying hazelnuts – that would be amazing!!!
vegan nutella is genius. turning it into VNBU (vin-boo) is even more genius. and that wig night with your friends is AWESOME – that sounds like something my friends would (and now WILL) do soon! have a wonderful day!
My co-worker clipped a Nutella recipe for me the other day. It was in the Balt Sun I think. But, I am too lazy to make it. I will enjoy the pics of yours though
Gosh I haven’t had Nutella in a long time, although I prefer your recipe : ) I love chocolate and hazelnuts together…oh with some orange zest YUM!
Awww Einstein! What a cutie
Thanks for keeping us updating on the Nutella recipe. I’m on it!
Mmmm that looks like an excellent replacement for Nutella….especially love the idea of Nutbu. hehehe
I definitely looked up your post on how to make this and i’m glad to know that you have to churn for a really really long time! hahah good thing the motor didn’t actually die on you! That wouldn’t have been too awesome.
Thank you again for sharing more wonderful idea Heatherboo! Have a lovely day!
Ah-HA! That’s just what I needed to thin out my cocoa almond butter in my recipe entry! I knew it needed a little liquid added, but I never thought to add rice milk. I’m assuming almond milk would work as well? Hmm, I will have to experiment with this further! Thanks for the idea.
Have a great day Heather!

I want Cinna-Monster Apple. I coming over!

Fabulous!!I can have my Nutella now…. dairy free:-) cc
Nutellabu is the best I’ve seen so far!
I’m totally buying hazelnuts this weekend. Your recipe sounds scrumptious
That Nutella looks even better than the real thing. I can’t wait to try it.
Kate, Yes, almond milk should work. That’s what I always use in my ABU.
i made some over the weekend, too! like you, i found it difficult to spread as well, but unlike you, i have been dealing with it! not no mo! i will be making it into sauce when i get home!
genius!
Oooh, that version of Nutella does sound reeeeeally enticing.
ohh man I so need to make your version. I bought nutella for the first time a few weeks ago and was then a little weirded out at the ingredient list
as always, you’ve won me over with your oh so fab recipes.
happy wednesday my dear!
I’ve had the same “spread-ing” issues with my homemade nutella, so I’m totally going to give this a go once I get back into my kitchen. THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Heather,
Not sure if you will get a chance to answer this, but I am thinking of buying the vitamix and I just want to get your opinion if its worth it. I know you do a lot with it, but in addition to a vitamix do you own a food processor? I can only afford to by a really good vitamix or food processor and am at a loss.
Thanks for any advice you can give.
Gotta make this homemade Nutella as I am not getting near the stuff you find on the grocery store shelves. I am a huge fan of nuts, unsweetened cocoa powder and Stevia. Today I picked up a container of NuNaturals stevia. Added it to an applesauce and oatmeal recipe……to be posted soon!!! Love that u post daily, want to fit that into my crazy days!!
How long can u store this Nutella in the fridge….with the rice milk in it??
By the way, the new site looks great!!
I like Nuts4U
Apple goes so well with the cinnamon! so addicted!
I love the Nutella Sauce! Definitely need to make it!
I want to come up with something to make these nut butters creamy but still either shelf-stable or something that won’t go bad as quickly as any “milk” will. Water- bleh. Torani, yes but chemically. WHAT!?? Help heabs?!
hahah i personally like “nuts4u”
love the pic of you and your pupper! so cute
have a great night, friend
Hey Heather – great creation! Maybe you could market it
. THANK YOU for informing me of the yogadownload.com – I love it!! I do try to get to studios, but it can be so time-consuming, so I like to practice at home if I can…I have DVD’s, but get bored after awhile – plus, they’re usually hit or miss…sometimes I’ll do my own ‘freestyle’ , but I like to have something ‘organized’ and to follow at times – for motivation. This site is going to be great!! I tried the ‘Core Strengthening’ 20-min free one today – super quick before work and just lovely
Okay…sorry for the novel, haha!
24 Carrots, Oh my, it it ever worth it! However, I will be honest, I use both my food processor and Vita-Mix everyday. Honestly, I might go with a really good food processor over the Vita. I use my food processor for homemade nut butters, chopping, pureeing squash, raw soft serve ice-creams, etc. Yep, I’d go with the food processor, and as long as you have a somewhat good blender for smoothies, life is good.
Deb, I have the answer, but you won’t like the calories. Coconut oil.
Marla, Not sure – 7 days maybe…if it lasts that long.
Every name I think of sounds dirty, so I think I’ll just keep my mouth shut and tell you that it looks awesome!
I was in Spain last year and for some reason Nutella was EVERYWHERE.. I mean like gas stations, clothing stores.. lol all over. This looks delicious! What a great topping for some fresh fruit.
Thank you for answering. I appreciate it.
I like Nuts4U the best
That looks super good! I’ve been debating if I should get a jar of Nutella…not sure if I should keep it around! haha
I think I vote Nuts4U, too.
But who cares about the name — looks AMAZING!
Oh my goodness, I love Nutella but I recently went vegan so this is perfect for me!! Thanks so much Heather
That’s my fave rice milk too, ha ha.
