Smoothie Girl Deb in the flesh. Sweet Deb and her husband drove all the way from California to hang out with me and CD while we’re in Arizona for the holidays. Unfortunately, CD is sick, and so it was just us girls last night. We met up for dinner at Kona Grill. We both ordered the exact same thing, the miso-sake marinated sea bass with wok tossed vegetables. We then ordered dessert, blogger style…

We shared a red velvet cupcake and asked for the frosting on the side. Hehe.
Deb, I had the best time at dinner. Although I feel like we’re old friends, it was so nice to finally get to hug you in person!
Deb was her usual generous self. It started with the lovely scarf she made me pictured above. I put it on immediately after opening it and kept it on all night. Love it Deb! The thoughtfulness continued with the following…

The nut butters I chose from her HEABiversary Nut Butter Giveaway along with some British goodies. This morning I sampled the Brazil Nut Butter, Deb’s Spiced Holy Mole (organic peanuts and chunks, dark cocoa powder, organic instant coffee, chipotle powder), and Spiced Nutella, aka The OMG OMG OMG (roasted hazelnuts and chunks, dark cocoa powder, stevia, cinnamon, cardamom). All of them tasted AMAZING. A close-up of The OMG OMG OMG. Check out the hazelnut chunks…

As instructed, I wore my party hat while eating them.
Thanks again so much Deb. Just the fuel I needed for my workout today, but more about that in tomorrow’s post. Off to check on CD.
Oh, and be sure to click here for a chance to win some of my favorite raw food bars. ‘Bout time Katie!

HEB-n-DEB…You two ladies look beautiful! And what’s the irony…is that Kona Grill is about 10 mins from my house but I’m 5000 miles++ away. Coming home late Wed nite. Heabs, will I bump into you at the airport going home? Anyway girls, what great fun and once upon a time when I used to eat fish, there was nothing better than Sea Bass!!!!!!!!!! It’s on the endangered species list, well it used to be, but I used to eat it anyway. And while I’m at it, let me just order a piano with real ivory keys. kidding
Anyway the Nut Butters look fabulous, but I would expect nothing less from the Smoothie Queen who can blend anything into fabulosity!
Heather, hope you’ve had a nice time in AZ! And I am sooo bummed I’ve missed you.

Blogger meet-ups always look so fun! It’s like we were all “meant for each other”! lol
And who knew you could order cake frosting on the side?
I’d be all over that frosting
Great scarf and nice meet-up Ladies.
So nice you had fun Heather! The cupcake looks great…the combination of the cupcake and frosting is great. The scarf is beautiful also. Kudos to Deb.
Curious: what kind of wedding cake did you have? Red velvet maybe?
Nut jar, CD and I had an all raw wedding cake made with layers of fresh fruit, sheets of dried fruit, cashew cream, almonds, and edible flowers. You can see a picture of it here: http://heathereatsalmondbutter.com/2009/04/18/heat-the-salmon-butt/
So fun!!! You both look fantastic and it sounds like there was as much fun served as food:) Someday I want to meet you guys too!
Heabs! Thanks for such a sweet post! It’s so cliched but you REALLY are as lovely and sweet in person- more so if that is even possible! I think we closed down the joint just yapping like long-lost sisters!
I just want CD to feel better soon! He sure is adorable though- those “Paul Newman eyes” yowza- what a knockout!
Hey Heabs! I realize that everyone thinks that we ordered the frosting on the side of the red velvet cupcake- it was the waitress’ idea, right? SHE was the brains behind that genius restaurant maneuver!!
Ha ha – you’re right. I was thinking it was you, but you just requested the whipped cream on the side. Brilliant waitress…should have given her a bigger tip.
gorgeous scarf! Az is so gorgeous! I’m freezing once it gets dark but it’s been perfect weather for hiking and just walking around outside. I’d take the rental to Flagstaff if I were old enough! Blogger meet ups seem so fun! Maybe my latest post will entice all my fave bloggers to visit Houston
I had no idea you could order frosting on the side, I thought they were always premade.
Deb, those nut butters look so good! I’m going to start experimenting with the food processor as soon as I’m back home!

I wish someone would make me such delicious nut butters! You have great friends….
What a fun time!! Great picture of you two! Everything looked soooo good, I’ve got to try to make a couple of those nut butters. Hope CD feels better soon! Love the frosting on the side idea….who knew…gotta remember that one!!
That is so awesome!!! I’m envious you guys got to meet up – I’d love the chance to meet either of you one day. Deb MADE that scarf?! It’s gorgeous! I’d keep it on all night, too.
That hat is so darn cute – suits you HEAB!
I’m drooling over the nut butters…they are decadent!! Deb is the nut butter queen.
I imagined that you would both be sitting on your yoga mats, eating your dinner out of nut butter jars! Oh, I wish I was there too…
xoxo,
A
