I really can’t believe it’s 2010. I’m starting the year off with a cold. 🙁 I have not been sick in probably 2 years, and I don’t like it. Thankfully, I don’t have a fever or body aches. So, I don’t think I caught the flu from CD, and I’m sure I’ll feel like my old self again soon. Hope so anyway.
Just like every January of years past, people are talking resolutions. I do set goals every year. However, this year I’m trying something different and actually writing them down in my new Goddess Guidebook…

So, some of my resolutions, goals, intentions, whatever you would like to call them for 2010…
1) Deepen my yoga practice.
2) Spend more time with my parents.
3) Spend less time in front of the computer and more time with books.
4) Work on my strength.
5) Learn to use chopsticks. 🙂
As far as #4 goes, I’m starting tomorrow. For the month of January, I will be working with an online personal trainer along with Charlotte over at The Great Fitness Experiment. Lindsey from Lean Bodies Health and Fitness has agreed to train Charlotte along with 30 of her readers for 30 days. Thanks so much Lindsay! She emailed me all of my workouts, and I’m super excited…but kind of scared. Ha ha. I will be working out 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 days a week. I plan to keep doing yoga, but it may just be 10 minutes here, 20 minutes there. I’m not about to do all these workouts + a 90 minutes yoga class. Two years ago, I would have, but now I know I don’t need to do both. I’ll be more than happy to blog about the workouts and my diet (sticking with a higher protein diet) throughout the month if you guys are interested. Just let me know.
Oh, and I almost forgot…
It’s Pancake Sunday! I woke up at 5 AM, read for an hour, and then went back to sleep until 9 AM. I can’t tell you the last time I slept so late. Something is definitely off in my body…or maybe it was the Nyquil I chugged at 5:30 AM? 😉 Anyway, I didn’t get around to eating breakfast until about 11. This morning’s batch of flapjacks was completely random, but really good. I made my protein pancakes, but added 1/4 cup wheat bran, 1/2 cup leftover mashed rutabagas with cinnamon, and I whipped 4 of the egg whites. Toppings were soy-free Earth Balance, maple syrup, more cinnamon, and a big dollop of TruWhip. I was afraid with all my congestion, I wouldn’t be able to taste them, but nope, all was good. The mashed turnips were a nice touch. Quite tasty!
