My Intentions For The Year

by HEAB on January 3, 2010

Hello my almond butter loving friends. If you're new to HEAB, you may like to subscribe to my RSS feed or receive my posts via email. Thanks for reading!

I really can’t believe it’s 2010. I’m starting the year off with a cold. :( I have not been sick in probably 2 years, and I don’t like it. Thankfully, I don’t have a fever or body aches. So, I don’t think I caught the flu from CD, and I’m sure I’ll feel like my old self again soon. Hope so anyway.

Just like every January of years past, people are talking resolutions. I do set goals every year. However, this year I’m trying something different and actually writing them down in my new Goddess Guidebook

IMG_4122.JPG

Leonie sent me a copy of her guidebook.  In her own words, it is:

A complete workbook & planner to dream, plan, & grow your gorgeous year…

Thanks Leonie. I love it, and your paintings are beautiful. I can’t write to start filling mine in with plans for the new year. Leonie has kindly agreed to give a guidebook away to one of my readers. For a chance to win, simply leave a comment below telling me one thing you love about yourself. The winner will receive Leonie’s planner/workbook in a PDF file, and you can then print off the entire booklet or simply pick your favorite pages. I hope to complete my workbook pages today and hang them up around my computer so that I can look at them everyday. Thanks again Leonie!

So, some of my resolutions, goals, intentions, whatever you would like to call them for 2010…

1) Deepen my yoga practice.

2) Spend more time with my parents.

3) Spend less time in front of the computer and more time with books.

4) Work on my strength.

5) Learn to use chopsticks. :)

As far as #4 goes, I’m starting tomorrow. For the month of January, I will be working with an online personal trainer along with Charlotte over at The Great Fitness Experiment. Lindsey from Lean Bodies Health and Fitness has agreed to train Charlotte along with 30 of her readers for 30 days. Thanks so much Lindsay! She emailed me all of my workouts, and I’m super excited…but kind of scared. Ha ha. I will be working out 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 days a week. I plan to keep doing yoga, but it may just be 10 minutes here, 20 minutes there. I’m not about to do all these workouts + a 90 minutes yoga class. Two years ago, I would have, but now I know I don’t need to do both. I’ll be more than happy to blog about the workouts and my diet (sticking with a higher protein diet) throughout the month if you guys are interested. Just let me know.

Oh, and I almost forgot…

IMG_4123.JPG

It’s Pancake Sunday! I woke up at 5 AM, read for an hour, and then went back to sleep until 9 AM. I can’t tell you the last time I slept so late. Something is definitely off in my body…or maybe it was the Nyquil I chugged at 5:30 AM? ;) Anyway, I didn’t get around to eating breakfast until about 11. This morning’s batch of flapjacks was completely random, but really good. I made my protein pancakes, but added 1/4 cup wheat bran, 1/2 cup leftover mashed rutabagas with cinnamon, and I whipped 4 of the egg whites. Toppings were soy-free Earth Balance, maple syrup, more cinnamon, and a big dollop of TruWhip. I was afraid with all my congestion, I wouldn’t be able to taste them, but nope, all was good. The mashed turnips were a nice touch. Quite tasty!

Enjoy your Sunday my friends and wish me luck with my first workout tomorrow! :)

::clapping:: I LOVE Goddess Leonie!!!

ilanalala January 3, 2010 at 12:15 pm

Mashed rutabega in pancakes? I’ll have to keep that in mind. I usually use apple sauce…root veggies would be an interesting swap.

One thing I love about myself…. I love my confidence! I have never been afraid to walk into a room of people I do not know or get up in front of a crowd. Confidence is the key to all of my successes!

Kristen January 3, 2010 at 12:20 pm

What a neat guidebook! Beautiful cover as well. One thing I love about myself? I love that my personality is flexible…I’m naturally not an uptight person and love to do things spontaneously!

Good luck with the workouts, Heather!!

Lauren January 3, 2010 at 12:23 pm

Your strength training sounds great! I hope you do share some of your workouts. :)

I was up super early today too! Ugh, I think we will both need a nap this afternoon. :)

Have a wonderful day Heather!

Susan January 3, 2010 at 12:25 pm

I have a cold too : ( And I never get sick so it feels wayyyyy abnormal. Here’s to getting better soon!

What an awesome giveaway! One thing I love about myself is that I know how to make people happy – and I do it as much as I can. I love making peoples’ days better!

Tiffany January 3, 2010 at 12:28 pm

I would be interested in reading about your workouts and your higher protein diet. I think it would motivate me to keep doing my strength training routines. Your pancakes sound random, but delish at the same time!

Katie January 3, 2010 at 12:31 pm

Your goals sound great.

Your new fitness challenge sounds so cool. I can’t wait to read all about it.

Katie

Heather January 3, 2010 at 12:37 pm

That workbook looks awesome! Can’t wait to read about your strength training. Hope you start feeling better soon!

Erika January 3, 2010 at 12:42 pm

I’m kinda delurking here… ;)

a) I love your goals. It wasn’t on my “list”, but I’m definitely trying to read more and Mac a lil’ less. And by read, I do NOT mean my anatomy text book! If you want to come to Minneapolis, I can teach ya how to beast the chopsticks!

b) I actually don’t think I’ve ever made pancakes before.. which is definitely going to have to change because I see everyone and their mom making your protein pancakes and it definitely sparked a craving! Breakfast for dinner I’m thinkin….

c) I’d love to hear about the new workouts + higher protein diet! More protein is something I’ve been attempting, but haven’t worked out all the kinks yet.

What beautiful book!!! Good luck on your workout!

Chloe January 3, 2010 at 12:52 pm

I’d love to win this!

Thing I love about myself – my compassion for others.

Deb (SmoothieGirlEatsToo) January 3, 2010 at 12:57 pm

I know that you and I will be talking about the diet with more protein! :-)

Bummer that you got sick- did I tell you that after I dragged my sorry arse into and around step class I came home and slept all day? Scared it was flu, but woke up fine. :-/ Weird. Maybe you’ll get over yours fast too.

I’m with you on the goals- esp increase book reading. I feel blog-rich (a good thing) but newspaper/book/magazine poor (not a good thing! :-) )

Feel better Heabie!!!!

Maggie January 3, 2010 at 12:58 pm

Yes, do chopsticks!

Beautiful book… I should make myself one of those.

And feel better soon. I hate being sick.

MarathonVal January 3, 2010 at 1:01 pm

I love that I am compassionate about helping others in any way that I can!

What a beautiful book for your 2010 intentions!

theemptynutjar January 3, 2010 at 1:02 pm

Wow Heather, what a post.
First of all: I hope you feel better, colds and especially body aches and pains are not fun (especially when they are chronic!)
Next, what a great looking guidebook! Sounds fantastic for someone like me who flails about life in aimless confusion :)
So, love about myself? WHat a thought-provoking question! Ask me December, 31, 2009 and all the days before that for the last 2 years+ straight, and I would say nothing. I always used to tie my self-acceptance to things I no longer have or am incapable of. But now I am truly learning to accept my life for that which it is: to accept that the things I do are simply, “enough”. To be a walker, that is enough; to simply attempt some gentle yoga for 20 minutes every odd day is “enough”; to pursue writing through my blog is “enough”; to be responsible and work at a job I disdain has to be “enough”; just to accept and not compare myself to others anymore because it makes me then into a person I absolutely dislike. And no one needs to feel that way about him/her self.
I agree with your staying away from computer more and just reading…I literally spend hours and hours just sitting and reading books now all the time; and being with friends, and family if/when able: so great goals! (if you visit my blog sometimes, I talk about books; and always open to hear about others recent favorites).
Good luck with your workouts, I admire you fiercely.
And cute eats again (funny: I never come here for the food pics or talk, but just to see your shiny personality ); typical Heather, gotta be “different” and unique :)

Erika January 3, 2010 at 1:05 pm

I would loove one of htese workbooks…one thing I love about myself? No matter how tough things get, I always keep working on making things bette r- I do NOT give up….Enjoy your blog very much. Hugs

Shelby January 3, 2010 at 1:28 pm

What a beautiful guidebook! One thing I love about myself..the ability to look on the bright side when something goes wrong. A major goal this year is to keep a positive outlook on everything!

Jessica January 3, 2010 at 1:30 pm

I totally am with you in that I need to spend more time away from the computer!

homecookedem January 3, 2010 at 1:34 pm

Best wishes for an amazing 2010 for you HEAB!! Hope you feel back to yourself ASAP!! :)

The thing I love about myself is that I am always willing to see other perspectives, very open minded when it comes to a lot of issues. I accept others for their differences.

Veggiesmack January 3, 2010 at 1:39 pm

Great set of goals! I could definitely do with getting away from the computer and reading more!

veggiebooty January 3, 2010 at 1:41 pm

I’m loving that guidebook – it’s beautiful and inspired! So, since you asked for immodesty, I like that I am consistently striving to be the best person that I can be ;-) Feel better!

foodfitnessandfreya January 3, 2010 at 1:55 pm

Awh it sucks starting the new year ill! I spent New Year’s day throwing up everywhere with a tummy bug :( Extra disapointing cos I wanted to start my new blog that day! I hope you feel better soon, I’m sure the pancakes will help :)
If anyone wants to check out my blog…I started today and I don’t think I’ve had a single reader yet haha!
Best wishes for 2010 :D

Kristen @ Change of Pace January 3, 2010 at 2:01 pm

I love your #3 goal… I catch myself telling people I don’t have time to read… BUUUUUT… I do. If I could cut my computer time in half I could definitely have time to read. I think I might be with you on that one :)

Rachel January 3, 2010 at 2:07 pm

Probably the nyquil, haha. The pancakes look really yummy!

I really love that you’re asking your readers to name something they love about themselves rather than something they want to change like most new year’s resolutions are about. For me, what I love most about myself is my ability to set my mind on something and do it. There are times when my motivation wains, like everyone else’s, but when I make a decision to do something it’s like a lightbulb goes off in my brain. Sure, I love other things about myself, but this is something that won’t go away (hopefully) as I get older.

lola January 3, 2010 at 2:16 pm

Happy bday Heather!!!!! hope you had a blast! those cookies with coconut ice cream looked delish!
i want that planner so bad hahah mmm one thing i love about myself is i always look for the positive in every situation!
Have a nice day heather!

tina January 3, 2010 at 2:21 pm

Thing I love about myself… my persistence.

Sandy January 3, 2010 at 2:31 pm

Would love to hear more about the workouts and high protein diet. If your reading leads you to any valuable information about using protein to blast fat I would be interested in what you have learned.

I love the notebook and would love to win one. I like that I am always working on getting better. It is my lifetime goal to keep living young and I read a lot about improving my life so that I will still be doing all of the fun things I am doing now in 10 or 20 or 30 years.

I really appreciated the comment above that the reader is able to say that is enough. I read all of the blogs from runners but I am a very competitive, fast walker and I need to learn to say that what I do is enough. I am a walker, not a runner although I often am asked if I am a runner because of my leg muscles. On the other hand it is always good to be constantly striving to improve – i.e. taking my yoga practice to a new level or looking for a new adventure instead of climbing the same mountains again.

Jessica January 3, 2010 at 2:31 pm

That book looks awesome!!
I love my optimistic view on life :)

Gelareh @ Orange Truffle January 3, 2010 at 2:42 pm

We had Sunday pancakes today as well.. with the exception that I hadn’t made pancakes since August.

I definitely need to read more book and spend less time in front of the computer… but some how I doubt i can do much about the later.

eatmovelove January 3, 2010 at 3:07 pm

Hope you feel better soon Heather. That journal looks amazing! I would love to be able to find something like that! Would she be willing to send me one if I paid her? ;) …haha, I really don’t expect to win obviously!

One thing I like about myself? I’m not going to get all sappy, sometimes I feel people use that to make others feel sorry or empathy towards them(?) – and honestly, “I’m over that now” – now is more about you or I or a Reader as an indvidual…we are all just one part of the puzzle. With that said, I’m frustrated with myself for not accomplishing anything today or being indecisive…but, alas, perhaps my intent to try to be a better person and not expect anything in return – just to be simply. I just did a post about this as well and it also ties in with my goals I wrote about as well…

Regardless, have a good day – snow snow and snow here. Makes an excuse to stay in and cozy…but also a reason to get more done :( ….and what do you think I’m doing?!

Heather Eats Almond Butter January 3, 2010 at 5:41 pm

Eatmovelove, Yes, you can purchase Leonie’s Guidebook here: http://www.goddessguidebook.com/kits/2010-creating-your-goddess-year-workbook-planner/

Please share this month of you diet and exercising! You are such an inspiration! I was grocery shopping the other day and even thought, now what would HEAB’s be buying:)

Great giveaway
I One thing I love about myself? I think my favorite is my dedication to those I love

Carolyn January 3, 2010 at 3:24 pm

I love that i can and very often do wake from a deep sleep at any moment of the night and immediately be fully awake and sharp.. Like walk downstairs turn on the computer and start to do my day bookkeeping job sharp.. with no caffeine…Others have a tendency to find this annoying.. But i love it for the most part!!! Does make it hard to fall BACK asleep when you wake up and don’t want to be awake…… ;-)

Just allow yourself to only eat your kabocha with chopsticks and accomplishing #5 goal will be a snap!!

lpskins January 3, 2010 at 3:32 pm

I love my empathetic heart. It allows me to connect with so many people on an intimate level.

Is rutabega the same thing as a turnip?? Anyways, hope you feel better and yes please to your month or strengthening.

Heather Eats Almond Butter January 3, 2010 at 5:43 pm

lpskins, Yes, a rutabaga is a yellow turnip: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rutabaga. Thanks for the well wishes. :)

Tyrah January 3, 2010 at 3:45 pm

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *major hugs*

I love chopsticks. I tend to use them only when eating Asian cuisine, but I’d like to branch out.

My goal is to continue good eating habits and to branch out and explore more fitness. :)

suezkay January 3, 2010 at 4:53 pm

I love my cheerful demeanor! I refuse to let anyone else’s mood dictate the way I feel. Love your column!

Heather @ The Joyful Kitchen January 3, 2010 at 5:27 pm

I’m so trying the pancakes sometime this week…just gotta pick up the groceries tonight! Love your recipes :)

Kerry January 3, 2010 at 6:17 pm

I love that I have good instincts and I have no problem trusting them!

Jen January 3, 2010 at 6:17 pm

Too funny because earlier today, I was thinking about purchasing that guidebook and then came to check out my favorite blog (yours of course :) ) to see that it’s your current give-away…I’d love to win it!

One thing I love about myself is that I’m adventurous and willing to try anything and finally, 3 or so years ago, started allowing that side of me to come out and SHINE. Since then I’ve travelled the world – Bali, India (2x), Costa Rica (2x) – have been skydiving, got over my fear of going to a yoga class and now am working on deepening my yoga practice, and so many other little things that add to being a whole lot happier with who I am and how I approach and live my life.

Can’t wait to hear more about your workouts!

zahrtfamily January 3, 2010 at 6:23 pm

What a neat workbook, and a lovely gift to you, Heather! :) One thing I love about myself, hmmm…. I would have to say my faith. Would not be making it through this blessed life without it!

Thanks for the chance at a giveaway!

Katherine January 3, 2010 at 6:36 pm

I was just looking at this online a couple of nights ago!

One thing I value is my ability to reserve judgment, which has come as I’ve gotten older and better understand the complexities of life. We’re all just trying with the circumstances we’ve been given.

Jessica @ Going Off Birth Control Pills January 3, 2010 at 6:44 pm

I am so excited for you!! (Heavy) weight workouts COMPLETELY changed my body. They hurt and they’re hard, but they are the only thing that ever works for me. Are you going to do more animal- or plant-based protein? I had to back off the higher animal protein because it made me feel awful :( Great for building muscle though!

Hope you feel better soon! My boyfriend has a cold and managed to ward off the worst of it with tons o’ supplements. His throat still hurts and he’s tired, but it could have been much worse. Hurray for vitamins!

Kelsey January 3, 2010 at 7:24 pm

i love that i have an artistic and mathematically inclined mind!!! and i love being tall :]

Jessica @ Dairy Free Betty January 3, 2010 at 7:24 pm

I want this book so bad it hurts!! ;) haha.. no really though, it’s beautiful and the kind of artwork that appeals to me!! – One thing I love about myself – I have a big huge heart and loving sharing it!!

Erin January 3, 2010 at 7:38 pm

That guidebook is so cool! Great idea.

Hope you’re feeling better Heaber! I hear you on the strength training – that’s one of my goals for the year too.

I’d have to say that I love my open mind. I love to learn about things, people, etc and try my very hardest to be non-judgmental in all situations, and I think people appreciate that.

Jes January 3, 2010 at 7:38 pm

Oh Heather…do hope you get feeling better…some rest is just what your body ordered! Pancakes sound so yummy! I’ve got some shredded veggies that are going into ours tomorrow…haven’t tried Rutabaga though!

What a beautiful giveaway…one thing I love about myself…and this is going to sound pretty silly mind you…but I really am glad I have such a connection with animals…always have…and I consider it such a blessing. They have taught me the true meaning of unconditional love and how to enjoy the simplest of joys and to never take anything for granted. I could really use a guidebook to help direct my big heart! :)

caronae January 3, 2010 at 7:45 pm

I find it really hard to say things that I love about myself — it’s actually one of my goals this year to love myself more! I guess I’ll start now: I love my eyes and eyebrows!

Claire January 3, 2010 at 7:49 pm

First off:
Happy [belated] Birthday! (My BF’s was yesterday too!)

I love all of my quirks! Especially the one where I have to wiggle my nose like a bunny sometimes (for no reason). I also love that fact that anytime I am frustrated I apparently seem rather adorable to men ;)

This guidebook sounds amazing!

april January 3, 2010 at 7:55 pm

One thing that I love about myself is that I love shopping for others rather than myself!

And I’m excited to see your workouts and your protein filled meals! I’ve been on a high protein diet for a few months now and I’ve seen a major improvement in my muscles and cravings. I love it!

Katie January 3, 2010 at 8:09 pm

I love my strength, mental and physical, but mostly the mental part!

I would love to see the workouts that you are doing! Are you going to be okay giving up so much of your yoga workouts?

And I love the idea of learning to use chopsticks – I use them all the time, and it is way more fun to eat with them. You can make learner chopsticks – kind of like training wheels. :)

http://lunchinabox.net/2008/11/24/make-your-own-learning-chopsticks/

Heather Eats Almond Butter January 3, 2010 at 8:24 pm

Katie, I think I will be okay. I still want to do yoga, but I just won’t be doing 90 minute classes all week long. I actually think it will be a nice break, and I’m sure I’ll be ready for lots more yoga come February. We shall see. Thanks for the chop sticks link. Going to check it out right now!

greenbean January 3, 2010 at 8:13 pm

Hey Heather! Happy Birthday!

Just stopping through to let you know that I may have ordered a Vitamix on QVC today :) . I’ve been going back and forth since it aired late last night. I waited too long to make a decision so I’m on the wait list, but it was such a good deal. I even googled “ode to the vitamix” to help me make the decision. And guess who’s blog popped up as the first link? LOL.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Heather Eats Almond Butter January 3, 2010 at 8:22 pm

Greenbean, You won’t regret your decision. I promise!

Susan January 3, 2010 at 8:33 pm

Oooh, I’d love to win that book! Let’s see, one thing I love about myself is that I am simple minded. Sounds like a bad thing, but I lead a very uncomplicated and drama-free life because of it :)

Can’t wait to see some of these new workouts! Should be a wonderful change of pace for you :)

Holly January 3, 2010 at 9:00 pm

Oh, Heather! Feel better soon! There’s a whole big debate over the stuff, but personally when I felt iffy this year, colloidal silver helped me out so, so much! And I promise you won’t turn blue – that only happens when you *cough* intentionally *cough* chug 10x the RDI for a year to turn yourself blue. (And at $25+ a bottle, who in their right mind even considers doing that?!)

One thing I love about myself? I don’t think I ever think of myself as loving myself (which is such a big problem), but I have to admit that I love that I have learned to stop being a doormat to other people (at least 70% of the time). Old dogs can learn new tricks!

BTW – I don’t know if you ever got my email from a way back, but I think dairy is actually my problem! Eggs as well, sadly. But when both are out of my system, I am a totally different person!! =)

Heather Eats Almond Butter January 3, 2010 at 9:13 pm

Holly, Yes, the first day I started feeling sick, I was taking 1 tsp of colloidal silver every 20 minutes until I ran out. Just a little left in the jar. Hope it helped…maybe that’s why this didn’t hit me as hard as CD?

I’m sorry if I never replied to your email. I must have not received it b/c I always try and answer every email that comes to my inbox. Glad you figured it out what was giving you problems and that you’re feeling better!

Pure2Raw Twins January 3, 2010 at 9:09 pm

Hope you feel better!!! Love how you want to learn how to use chopsticks…me too!!!!

Good luck with your workouts! Love to hear more about them.

Shelley January 3, 2010 at 9:11 pm

Just found your great blog yesterday.

Love the giveaway. What do I love about myself? That I keep trying!

Donna Gilliam January 3, 2010 at 9:16 pm

The thing I like about me is my ability to see the potential in all beings. I love to meet people and find out their stories and how I can play a role in their life!!

elizabeth January 3, 2010 at 9:36 pm

Hi Heather, I hope you feel better for the start of your training! That sounds like an amazing opportunity. Will you be sharing all of your workouts? It would be great to do them along with you! As always, I love your blog and learn so much from it every day! Elizabeth

Heather Eats Almond Butter January 3, 2010 at 9:57 pm

Elizabeth, I will share what I do as everyone seems interested. Thanks for reading and have a good week!

MaryZ January 3, 2010 at 9:54 pm

I would love one of these guide books! I love your list:) Hope you feel beter soon.
One thing I love about myself…I make friends every where I go. I find it so easy to talk to people. I love learning about others.

Lara (Thinspired) January 3, 2010 at 10:00 pm

So sorry you have a cold :(
Rutabaga in protein pancakes?! I am definitely going to have to try some version of your famous cakes. I might start simple though…how about banana instead? ;)
I know you’ll master those chopsticks this year…I see more fried rice, er, quinoa in your future! ;)

Kim January 3, 2010 at 10:04 pm

One thing I love about myself:

I am finally becoming the person that I have always envisioned myself being. I always viewed myself as healthy, fit, and active, but my overweight appearance did not reflect that. I love that my body is now catching up to the rest of me and is getting itself in check. Most importantly, I love that I have finally made the important decisions and taken the steps needed to get my body on the right path. That was something I did for ME and I love myself for it!

charlotte January 3, 2010 at 10:23 pm

I’m so excited to have you on board for this experiment! It’s going to be a blast! And you’re right – her workouts look hardcore. SO fun:)

I am in LOVE with that book . . . what I love about myself – my awesome arms since I’ve been weight lifting!

yogiclarebear January 3, 2010 at 10:55 pm

oh what a beautiful looking book! was this hand made/painted??

one thing i love about myself- God lives in me!

Heather Eats Almond Butter January 4, 2010 at 8:36 am

Clare, Leonie did watercolor paintings for each page, and I’m assuming she then scanned them and put everything together in a PDF file. It’s beautiful.

Melissa S. January 3, 2010 at 11:02 pm

feel better honey!!!

omg you can totally learn to use chopsticks; my mom made it mandatory before she married my dad (he’s german, never used them before!) and she taught him using plastic chopsticks and m&m’s…not an easy feat!

Emily January 3, 2010 at 11:19 pm

I love my kind heart and ability to write. Thanks for this opportunity!

Kari Jenkins January 3, 2010 at 11:55 pm

Ewww. Ewww. Pick me. Pick me. I thought I might have a chance until I noticed there were 77 other comments. Dang! Oh well.

The book does sound interesting though. What do I love about myself?! Could it possibly be the fact that I piss and moan about not getting enough sleep since I have a baby, but then I find myself reading blogs at midnight? River has been in bed over 3 hours now. But seriously, I love the fact that I won’t give up. I stumble, make some poor choices along the way, but then I brush myself off and keep going.

Happy New Year, Heather! Can’t wait for the 13th.

Looks like you have a wonderful year planned out ahead of you! And that guidebook is great–I love that I am a full-blooded Italian!

livingfreeforever January 4, 2010 at 7:45 am

So sorry you are under the weather :( Hope you are feeling better today!

I look forward to seeing more about your diet and exercise. I am having to do a higher protein/VERY low-carb diet to try to get rid of my candida.

Have a happy Monday :D

Megan January 4, 2010 at 8:04 am

what a cute & fabulous idea Leonie!

I love that I’m not afraid to wear 4 inch pumps, despite the fact that I’m 5’10”.

I wish my protein pancakes turned out as well as yours :( mine are always rubbery and fall-aparty. they still taste fabulous, but they never look as cute & delish as yours!

Anna January 4, 2010 at 8:23 am

Aw, so beautiful!!! I would love a book like that to start the new year off on a “godessy” foot :-)

Something I love about myself– my ability to laugh at almost anything :-)

eatmovelove January 4, 2010 at 9:27 am

Thanks for letting know the site Heather!…I will wait to see if I have some luck here first ;) …hope your cold is better. I recommend lemon/honey and ginger tea…with a few ‘shots’ of cocoa…and HEAB pancakes :) Peace.

One thing I like about myself: the ability to laugh at myself when I do something others might call “dumb”.

Alina January 4, 2010 at 11:21 am

I love my kindness. Sometimes too much empathy is overwhelming, but I’d rather have too much than too little.

Great challenge – I would love to hear more about the high protein meals and the workouts!

Betherann January 4, 2010 at 11:29 am

Happy new year! I think your goals are great.

Beth @ DiningAndDishing January 4, 2010 at 11:39 am

I love that through my own yoga practice, I truly know just how strong I am, so much stronger emotionally, physically and mentally than I ever gave myself credit for.

jenngirl January 4, 2010 at 11:50 am

That Guidebook looks incredible! One thing I love about myself is my intense drive when it comes to doing things I love. When I have a passion for something, I go full speed ahead!

I hope you’ll keep us updated on how you like the new strength work, it sounds like an awesome plan!

LZ January 4, 2010 at 11:51 am

Heather, those are fantastic goals. Deepening your yoga practice and developing strength are fabulous intentions. Yes, we all need a little less time on the computer and more time with family these days. Chopsticks are really cool and they are awesome once you get used to them. Love the mashed turnip topping idea! So creative.
Best wishes with your goals!

Quix January 4, 2010 at 11:52 am

Good luck with your workouts! I’m jealous you got in on that. :)

I love my determination… when I get it in my head I want to do something I’m really super dedicated.

erintakescontrol January 4, 2010 at 12:01 pm

I love that my name is a unisex name. It’s really cool to run into a guy named Aaron and say, “hey, that’s my name! Kinda…” Pretty cool…

Hope you’re feeling better!

sarah (shep) January 4, 2010 at 12:09 pm

i love my optimism… even in the most difficult of times, i always strive to see the positives and lead those around me to see them too so that everything seems more a-okay. life’s tough sometimes, but we’ve all got our people and our niches that make us happy!

stacey January 4, 2010 at 12:24 pm

I love that I am learning to love and accept myself. It’s taken a lot of work to get here, but it has been worth it!

One thing that I love about myself is the inner space, a calm centered space radiating in joyfulness and universal love, which has opened up within me in the last three months. I love that I have begun to feel this way; it adds positive energy to my daily routine. My hope for 2010 is guidance on cultivating this new energy to fuel my passions and sustain the world! Thanks for the opportunity to post ;) Have yourself a passionate 2010!
