1 ) Marty’s Blogger Babes Calendar…C’mon, it’s for a good cause.

Google Juice – Yes, it’s my brother’s book, but if you want to get noticed on Google, it’s a must read.

The Great Fitness Experiment: One Year of Trying Everything – Join Charlotte and her Gym Buddies as they try a different workout every month for a year, everything from Cross-Fit to the Primal Blueprint. Find out what gets results and what doesn’t.

It Gets Easier!…And Other Lies We Tell New Mothers, A Fun Practical Guide To Becoming A Mom – A real and honest look at labor and those first few months of motherhood. Wish I would have read this months ago!

Real Food: What To Eat & Why – Love Nina Planck’s philosophy.

I’ve been reading the released chapters online, and you can now pre-order a copy of the published book. All orders will be received before Christmas.

Heya Heather,
I know you’re a busy mamacita. But if you get a chance, be sure to check out my post from last Sunday. You WON’T regret it.
*hint hint*
On a side note: wow, that almond joy oatmeal!
CCK,
Best post ever.
Holy freaking crap!! Me?? You should have seen my face when I read it… Now all I have to do is get my husband to take the picture WITH me. This will make such a great Christmas present, Heather, thank you so much! I have 3 brand new silver frames waiting to welcome a great looking family picture to give to each of our parents.
What a bunch of great ideas!!!!! I already have the milk frother, and I looove it!!!!!
That almond joy oatmeal looks amazing. Think I might need to make some more chocolate almond butter in the future.
LB,
Why yes, I believe you do.
This is a great list, Heather. I got a milk frother at IKEA for $1.99 last Christmas and I love it.
That robe is calling my name. I just asked for the complete Arrested Development series. So funny, and its on sale today only at amazon for $28 for all three seasons. I hope my mom took my “hint”.
Katie,
I’m wearing my Barefoot Dreams robe as I type this – love that thing. CD and I Netflixed Arrested Development and have watched the first 4 episodes thus far. Funny stuff. Always been a fan of Jason Bateman.
Stellar gift guide!
I already have what I want for Christmas
VG,
What?
I spy the KERF mug!!!!!!!!!
Kath,
Love my KERF mug.
I just recently found your site – I’ve been following Charlotte for a few months now.
I’m commenting because I just had a baby in July and I also would die with out the Aden & Anias swaddle raps – now Baby B loves them to chew and snuggle with – they can calm her down in an instant.
I had trouble getting the swaddle down too, but the Happiest Baby on the Block technique works really well – if you can’t Netflix the video this clip should do the trick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfsjQuy3m04. It’s the “belt” that makes it work. You’ll have to fold the A&A almost entirely in half to start because they are so large.
Good luck! I can’t wait to try out some of your recipes.
Jenny,
Oh my gosh, I am all about the dudu swaddling method. You should have seen me when we first brought Summer home. I would lay her down by my laptop and swaddle her as I watched the Happiest Baby on The Block DVD. They make it look so easy, but it took me several tries to get it, and you’re right, the belt is key! CD still can’t do it right. Hehe.
So glad you found me and thanks for reading!
Ooh, great gift list!! I would take ANY (or all!!) of these!
Ooooh, those really are great gift ideas! I’ll have to check out Charlotte’s book- looks really interesting!
This Christmas I’m asking Santa for a new Magic Bullet (or comparable blender system), as well as gift cards to The Vitamin Shoppe, because it has trumped Sephora as my favorite store (no small feat!). I’m starting another contest diet prep January 1st (can’t keep a good girl down!) and I know I’ll be frequenting TVS often for supplements and shakes! Hubby cringes when I say I am or have already gone to The Vitamin Shoppe, because he knows it’s like “supermarket sweep” when I go in. Can’ help myself- I want everything in there!
Talia,
CD does the same thing whenever I mention the “W” word…Whole Foods.
I loved yesterday’s guest post-although that’s a long way away for me, it still made me laugh!
Look at those gorgeous long fingers…and that perfect little face! She might be on to something with her arms above her head. Hmm, I should try it.
hey heather, do you know if google juice is only available in kindle edition, or also in actual book form? im thinking of getting it for my job, but i dont have an ereader!
Allison,
My brother emailed you regarding Google Juice. Please let me know if you didn’t receive it.
Great ideas! Now that we have the boys to buy for, we never get the chance to get things for each other and no one asks us what we want, so it is all a surprise!
Sarena,
Really? I sent CD a whole list of stuff I wanted. Hehe.
I made granola for my family! I’m shipping it off today!1
I definitely want The Great Fitness Experiment for Christmas! I sent the link to my dad this morning!!
Great list!
Random, but I’d kind of like a Velvet Underground/Andy Warhol “banana” t-shirt.
i finally got to try justin’s chocolate almond butter this past weekend! i found some at a whole foods! omg. it was so good, perfect in fact not too sweet! loved every second!
Melissa,
That brings a smile to my face. Love Justin’s!
Oee, gotta get my hands on those preserves!
You’re a calendar girl?!?! Jealous….
great list and I love your calender pic! Hottie~
“A real and honest look at labor and those first few months of motherhood. Wish I would have read this months ago!”–
Yeah, tried to tell you a few tidbits in email (and glad per your comment reply to me yesterday that all my tidbits were well-received.) I mean, no one wants to rain on a pregnant lady’s parade and no one knows what kind of birth, baby, after-effects the mother/baby dyad will have on everything from nursing to sleep to adjusting to this new life so it’s hard to say “too” much…but it’s like to not say anything is a little pipe dream that’s kinda far-fetched
Anyway, moving on…I LOVE this list! I dont have a fancy camera either. My robe is a 9.99 tshirt from target that’s 4 yrs old and has stains on it and my books are of the ABC singing variety. I would gladly take any of these things
Milk frother. That is what I want for Christmas!!!
Great post
Gave me lots of good ideas to pass on to the fam!
Awww… Summer looks super adorable as a bambino burrito
I’m asking for a new coat and a camera!
I just have to say that picture of Summer as a baby burrito is way too cute.
Thanks Robin.
Thanks for the great list of ideas! Love the calender pic of you
I need to get that google juice book sounds great!! HUGS
What a great list. I want to check out those books. And your wish – is Santa getting it for you this year?!
Baking ‘n’ Books. I wish – would be kind of shocked if Santa came through with that one!
Hi Heather-
Is the Google Juice book digital only? Or is there a place to buy a hard/paperback book?
Thanks,
Donna
Donna,
You can purchase a PDF copy of Google Juice here and then print out a hard copy: http://www.googlejuice.co/
homemade granola! great list
i want that robeee!
Just wanted to let you know that the picture of Summer with her arm above her head made me smile so big!! She is so cute!
Thanks Jennifer – That photo always brings a smile to my face as well.
Unfortunately, a lot of those purchases would have to be online. I have no credit cards and I try to skirt my eyes from all online purchases. Too sad – many of them look very appealing.
This Christmas I hope to afford the dentist. I’ve had unexpected financial strains lately – those things that “shouldn’t” have happened , but actually do happen and make a few extra dents that you never anticipated!
Lovely list.
I still have yet to try Justin’s nut butter. I completely forgot to add it to my list! I better get on that
Congratulations to the winners of the giveaways!
I seriously want one of those milk frothers! I’m sure I could invent a million ways to NEED frothed milk in my life.
Re: your own holiday wishlist –
I got Brent this camera for his birthday: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/digital_cameras/powershot_sx30_is.
It’s not an SLR, but it’s a powerful point-and-shoot with an extended zoom and a ton of manual capacity. We went back and forth on whether to go with this or an SLR, and ultimately decided that this one served the same purpose but was far more portable.
Just thought I’d point it out in case you weren’t totally set on the one you linked!
Thanks Abby – I’ll pass this info onto CD…um, I mean Santa.
That Justins is so addicting! I like it on oatmeal. I like it straight off a spoon even better
I want each and every one of those books!
Oh and I also LOVED your week of sweet potatoes. I will be trying some of them out soon
Your blog rocks!
Thanks so much Kristine.
Toby has that camera!! He takes photos for his website: http://www.worldofhdr.com. It’s a really awesome camera!
I hope Santa brings me a food processor
Melissa,
Really? Off to check out Toby’s website right now. Thanks!
I hope you like his pics! He was excited when I told him you’re checking it out
Melissa,
They were beautiful. I especially loved the Manhattan Bridge shot as well as the cloud photo taken from the airplane. Toby is quite talented. Wish he was here to give me lessons!
I have been on the lookout for a new fitness book and Charlotte’s Fitness Experiment looks perfect!! I can’t wait to start reading!
My Vanderbilt interview went well, Heather! I’m keeping my fingers crossed. . . That milk frother will hopefully be mine, muahahahaha.
Thank you for suggesting a good one!
Sami,
So happy to hear the interview went well. I’m keeping my fingers crossed you’ll be in Nashville next fall!
I love Christmas lists! I should get mine going!
LOVE the pic of Summer with her tiny arms above her head. True story, Bella did the SAME thing, still does! We would put her in the “gowns” to sleep b/c everyone told us how wonderful they were, ect. Every single night, Bella would wiggle her tiny arms out of the top and put above her head. Same with swaddeling. She still sleeps with the same arm above her head. If you look at Bella’s ultrasound pics, same thing. Crazy, no? I would bet if you peeked @ Summer’s ultrasound pics, you would see the same as well!
Santa delivered my new fancy multi-stride elliptical trainer last night. Did yoga this morning, then played with the new toy for a quick cardio sesh. All I really want is for my husband to find peace again @ work and not work 14 hrs a day, we miss him! Everything else is secondary.
Kim,
Hope your husband does find some peace at work – 14 hrs is a long day…sounds like he might just as tired as I am these days.
Too funny about Bella and her arms. Another girl else told me that they used to sleep just like Summer and still does…and she’s almost 30! Need to look at Summer’s ultrasound pics now to see if she was sleeping like that in utero.
Enjoy your elliptical!
I had a Garmin 305 (which I got early so I can use it during my final weeks of training for my half- marathon in exactly a month!) and cash (to save for a D-SLR) on my Christmas list!
Katy, very exciting. Good luck in your half!
Oooh I love “Real Food”! So glad that one made your list! Nina Planck is a gold mine of nutritional info! (And thanks for the shout-out to my book too:))
Still giggling over the bambino burrito!
Sooo cute!
Real food is on my list. Love Charlotte’s book- I highly recommend it. And of course i heart the calendar mucho and thank you so very much for the shout! Kudos to your bro for being a published author!
So cute how Summer sleeps, with the arms above her head .. very individual sleeping pose, just like the grown-ups
I was going to write, “I want a really super nice digital camera!” and then I clicked on your link and surprise! So do you! I SO BADLY want one! It improves a blog so much! Have you seen this blog, Heather? :
http://cannelle-vanille.blogspot.com/
She has some of the most stunning food photography/artwork I have ever seen!
Faith,
I just checked out the blog – that’s what I want my photos to look like!! Oh my gosh, they’re gorgeous…and now I really want some chocolate gluten free cupcakes.
I know! Can you believe it??? She is one of those bloggers that I go to her blog all the time just to look at her pictures…. I’ve never actually cooked one of her recipes haha….
yum i absolutely love Justins hazelnut butter I haven’t tried the chocolate almond butter yet but I am definitely going to !
Hi Heather,
I need a new robe, and your pick looks AWESOME. Do you mind sharing info about the fit – I’m close to right between the size 1 and 2 – do you recommend going up a size? I might have more babies so would love for it to fit through pregnancy too!
Thanks!!!
Brandae
Brandae,
Once you own a Barefoot Dreams robe, you will never want anything else! I actually own a size 2, and it’s quite big on me. I wear a size 6 in pants, and I probably should have gotten the size 1 robe, but I love how roomy mine is – I look like a walking blanket when I wear it. It’s awesome!
I would love a flour mill! BTW, I LOVE Nina Planck!!!
Summer is even cuter with her hands up like that
Awwwwww
I would love to hear a post of your thoughts on Nina Planck’s book, if you wouldn’t mind doing it
. Her theory seemed revolutionary to me and pretty valid. Just eat what God made, not what humans made. As simple as that!
Maria,
I should do a post on Nina Planck’s philosophy. It’s been a while since I read her book. I’ll try to get a copy from the library soon and look over it again for the post. Good call. Thanks for the request.
