Baby Shower Series Recipe #1

by HEAB on December 24, 2010

A few weeks ago, Chocolate Covered Katie, aka the sweetest blogger ever, threw me a virtual baby shower, and invited other bloggers and readers to share a recipe that reminded them of HEAB. You guys will never know how much your responses meant to me. I just sat there reading all of them in awe of everyone’s kindness. My hope is to recreate each recipe one by one, and I’m so excited to try all of them!

This morning, I enjoyed a yummy creation from reader Brandae.

Warmed brown rice tortilla with banana, pumpkin, cinnamon, and carob coconut butter

Thanks Brandae, it was delicious!

The HEAB household is a bit crazy today. We have both sets of families in town, and everyone is coming over to our house for dinner. The moms are cooking…meaning my mom and Alice, Chris’s mom. I plan to do nothing but eat. 🙂 Usually CD and I travel over the holidays, but our families came to us this year so that we could all enjoy Summer’s first Christmas together. Therefore, my blogging over the next week is going to be a bit sporadic as I want to get in lots of family time. I’ll still be around, but I probably won’t be posting everyday.

I hope all of you are enjoying some family time as well, and…

My name is Micah, and after reading blogs for years, I’ve finally started my own. You, along with many other lovely bloggers have inspired me to document my journey to culinary school. I’d love it if you would check out my blog Sweet Like Tea, and tell your friends about it!
Happy holidays and hope to keep in touch!
Ps. Congrats on summer. She is adorable and so lucky to have you as a mother!

Merry Christmas, Heather! So glad you enjoyed the wrap – I heated mine like a quesadilla in a skillet – loved the warm, luscious filling and crispy crunch combo. I need to make it again. Maybe with carob too. 🙂

Merry Christmas!!! The blog break + time with your family sounds like an amazing plan to me! But I really think you should just magically transport yourself to Ohio and eat dessert with us…somehow *none* of our desserts ended up involving chocolate this year!

HEAB December 24, 2010 at 9:22 pm

Please eat some extra non-chocolate dessert for me! Merry Christmas. 🙂

Enjoy the time off your blog if that’s what happens…lord knows, we ALL need cyberbreaks, blog breaks, and there is nothing better than soaking up the holidays with your family!

And if all you have to do is sit back and eat and the Grandmas are doing the cooking, dishes, etc…ENJOY!

Somehow I totally missed CCK’s baby shower for you. I don’t really know how that happens b/c I read both you and her daily but I dunno, life got in the way of clicking thru on the right links, I guess 🙂

Merry Xmas to you, Summer, CD, and your families!

HEAB December 24, 2010 at 9:19 pm

No worries – I missed the shower too. The post was up for 3 days before I even read it. Felt so bad!

Yep, the brown rice tortillas are gluten free, and they are the Food For Life brand. Got them at Whole Foods.
Try the carob coconut butter – you will love! 🙂

carlee December 24, 2010 at 1:53 pm

Are those GF brown rice tortillas? Are they the ivory teff sonoma ones?
Hmm…that looks interesting!
I’ll have to try that carob butter ( being frickin allergic to chocolate and all!!!!!!!grrr!)
Its like my only semi-source of something chocolate-ty
