The Moving Forward & Giving Back Charity Competition is officially over. The final results are not in yet, but it’s looking like Charlotte and the Gym Buddies are going to take 1st place. Congrats Charlotte! I don’t mind losing one bit as my mind, body, and soul were just so excited to be exercising regularly again. I did Lindsey’s workouts 5 days a week for 6 weeks. The results? Well, I definitely made some strides in my strength and endurance. My elbow plank hold went from 2 minutes to 4 minutes (a new record for me!), and the burpees and mountain climbers definitely got much easier as the weeks went by…but I still don’t like either. 😉 I didn’t lose any weight, but that’s okay. I’m still carrying a few extra pounds that WILL NOT budge after having Summer. I’ve heard that’s typical if you’re breastfeeding, and I’ll take the love handles if it means nourishing my daughter.
Other Team HEAB members seemed to really enjoy Lindsey’s personal training workouts as well. Ashlee and Lew of Ash & Lew Plus 2 lost a combined total of 20 pounds and Brittany had this to say, I liked that all of the workouts were things I could easily do at home and modify to my fitness level. It made me realize that you can get in a great cardio workout without equipment or a gym! Brittany, I concur. What I really liked about the workouts was that I could do them all at home with minimal equipment in 30 minutes or less. it was great, and I felt like I had no excuses not to do them. Anyone can carve out 30 minutes from their day for exercise even if that means breaking it up into 10 minute increments, which I had to do a few times. Others mentioned that they really enjoyed switching things up for 6 weeks, and I have to agree. It was nice to do a different workout everyday, and I never got bored. Many thanks to Lindsey for providing every member of Team HEAB with 6 weeks of personal training.
Now that the weather is nicer, I’m really looking forward to getting out and walking more. It’s been sunny and in the upper 50’s here in Nashville for the past several days, and Summer and I have been taking lots of walks together. In fact, today we walked to Cafe Nonna, our favorite Italian restaurant, for lunch with CD. Chris and I have an annual tradition of going there for lunch every Valentine’s Day, but since the restaurant is closed on Mondays, we celebrated today instead.
Summer was excited to see her daddy. 😉
I ordered a pizza with pesto instead of tomato sauce and grilled chicken. Oh how I love pesto!
So for the time being, I’m taking a break from cardio intervals and weight lifting in exchange for walking and hiking. The yoga mat is also calling my name. YogaDownload, here I come!
