HEAB got a new look. Times have changed, and I’m not the same person I was when I started this blog. Heck, I’m not the same person I was 6 months ago, and my blog design no longer felt like me. Recently, Rachel introduced me to Caitlin from Roost. I checked out her portfolio at Lark Creatif, immediately fell in love with her work, and contacted her about designing a new header for HEAB. My input was kind of random – something simple and whimsical. Beautiful, yet granola. Caitlin, it is beautiful and perfect, and I love it. Also, I must thank Cory at Zesty Blog Consulting for implementing Caitlin’s design. Thank you both – I could not be more grateful.
My new look has inspired me. I’ve mentioned taking the blog in a different direction, but honestly, I’m not sure what that means. I just want to post about my daily life. Sometimes, that may mean a bowl of delicious oat bran or a post that has nothing to do with food. I often find myself trying new recipes just so I can have something to blog about. Don’t get me wrong – I love spending time creating in the kitchen, but it’s not something I want to force upon myself. I’m also trying to get away from product reviews. If you’ve noticed, I’ve been doing a lot of them lately, and it’s because I had all these samples that companies had sent, literally piles of them sitting in 3 different rooms of the house. I wanted to get through all of them, do the giveaways, and get back to posting random bits of my day. Is that okay? I’ll still do reviews/giveaways on occasion if it’s a product I truly believe in, but I’m starting to feel used by certain companies. It’s a pretty icky feeling.
