All My Favorites

by HEAB on May 31, 2011

Hello my almond butter loving friends. If you're new to HEAB, you may like to subscribe to my RSS feed or receive my posts via email. Thanks for reading!

It’s late, and I’ve been trying to get this blog post up all day. So, I’m going to keep it short and sweet. Did you know it’s reader appreciation day? Well, it is, and I want to send one of you a package filled with HEAB love.

Up first, we have some coffee…

201105312156.jpg

I absolutely adore coffee…well, that’s not true. Honestly, I use coffee to dilute my mug of cream every morning. Anyone else out there prefer their coffee white and sweet? Anyway, included in your gift will be one package of Equal Exchange French Roast Coffee, a dark roasted blend with a bittersweet chocolate aftertaste. Um, yum! I received 2 samples of this coffee, and it’s so good, that I have to share. Truth be told, I’m no coffee connoisseur. As long as it doesn’t taste like muddy water, I’ll drink it, but I can tell a difference when I drink the Equal Exchange stuff instead of our usual brand. It’s stronger with a bolder flavor. If you’re a coffee fan, I think you’ll love it.

Next up, remember these?

My Trainer Fitness workout cards created by and featuring my favorite MizFit

I have the 100 Calorie Workout Cards as well as the At Work pack, and both have been kicking my butt for the past two weeks. Each packet contains six twenty minute circuit training type workouts that can be done just about anywhere. Minimal equipment is required (a resistance band or a dumbbell), and many of the exercises rely on your own body weight. Looking through the various workouts, I thought they looked fairly simple. Well, they are simple to understand, but that doesn’t mean they’re not challenging. What I love about the cards is that I can tote them all over the house (which I do), and break up the workouts when I need to. For instance, this morning I did the 100-calorie Day 3 workout for the core and lower body. I completed the short warmup and 3A (the first segment of the workout) and then had to finish 3B after putting Summer down for her nap. THESE ARE GREAT FOR MOMS OR ANYONE ELSE SHORT ON TIME and super effective. Expect to be sore! Included in your reader appreciation package will be one packet of workout cards – reader’s choice as to which one. You can read more about Miz’s cards at Shape Magazine Online and at Hungry Girl.

Last but not least, your package will include a coupon for a free jar of Sunbutter.

Sunbuttercoupon.jpg

Despite the name of my blog, almond butter has taken a back seat to my beloved seed butters. These days, I cannot seem to get enough tahini and sunflower seed butter in my life, and Sunbutter’s Organic is my favorite. It’s one of the only sunflower seed butters I can find with nothing added – no sugar and no salt, and I love it, hence the empty jar. The coupon is good for any Sunbutter product.

Edited to Add: I meant to disclose that I received the jar of Sunbutter and coupon for free, and I was in no way reimbursed for my positive review…not financially anyway, although my belly was pretty darn happy. ;)

To win all of the above, simply leave a comment below telling me how you came upon my blog. I’m always interested to know how people find me.

Good night. :)

Oh, and I haven’t totally given up on almond butter as the Almondie Almond Butter giveaway is open through tomorrow, Wednesday, June 1st.

does it still count if I can’t remember how I found your blog? :P it’s been ages! but it was probably from another blog.. haha.
now I’m curious and wish I could remember the specifics!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:00 am

Heather,
No worries. That counts. What matters is that you’re still here. :)

Ashley May 31, 2011 at 11:28 pm

Hmmmm…How did I find your blog!? I can’t remember…Kath?? However I found it, I’m glad I did!!

jc May 31, 2011 at 11:30 pm

i found your blog through mentioning of your blog on other blogs.. i forget exactly which blog i read yours from. i believe from maggie of yes to salad blog.

Gentry May 31, 2011 at 11:32 pm

I initially found your website through a search concerning coconut milk kefir. I’ve been playing around with Paleo eating as other diet tries haven’t worked but honestly thanks to your website I finally feel like I’ve learned how to balance my diet so that it works for my oh so sensitive system! Thank you! And thanks for all the yummy oatmeal recipes! (my new love) :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:03 am

Gentry,
You’re welcome. So glad you found me and that you’re feeling more balanced. Thanks for reading! :)

Lauren @ WWoB May 31, 2011 at 11:33 pm

Hmmmm… your blog was one of the very first I followed, I can’t actually remember how I found it. I imagine it was via Kath Eats or one of the big’uns. Its funny how blog tastes change over time!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:05 am

Lauren,
Haha, yes! My google reader has changed so many times. I’ll clean it out and start all over, then keep filling it, and then just stop looking at it for months. Just updated it, and I’m really enjoying the blogs I’m reading these days. Fewer food blogs – more design, photography, life blogs. They make me happy. :)

Sarah @ Recipe Love May 31, 2011 at 11:33 pm

I came across you via Ashley @ the edible perspective :)

Annmarie May 31, 2011 at 11:34 pm

How DID I find your blog? I’ve been reading for so long I can barely remember… I’m sure it was from another blog, but I can’t remember which one! In any case, it was one of the first food blogs I found, loved, and followed ever since! Thank you!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:06 am

Thanks Annmarie. :)

emily May 31, 2011 at 11:35 pm

i’m pretty sure i found your blog through facebook :) it was great to see you at Turnip Truck…i love that place!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:07 am

Emily,
Good to see you too. I love the Turnip Truck – much better than Whole Foods in my opinion. Never been disappointed when I go there.

Amy May 31, 2011 at 11:35 pm

I can’t remember exactly, but I’m pretty sure I found your blog through Charlotte, over at The Great Fitness Experiment. I’m by no means an exerciser, so I live vicariously through her (occasionally totally insane) posts and photos. :)

I’m a foodie, but not of the particularly healthy variety. I rarely read labels, and the concept of a place like Trader Joe’s is pretty foreign to me (although it sounds awesome). But what is the point of the blogosphere, if not to find things that interest you? I’ve enjoyed reading about the food you make, and seeing Summer grow up. I can’t believe she’s eating solid food already — how time flies!

Hope you and yours are avoiding any of that awful, awful weather that’s slamming into the South. Have a great night!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:10 am

Amy,
Yes, I recognize your name from Charlotte’s comment section. I love her – she is one of the first blogs I read, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Thanks so much for reading my blog and thankfully, Nashville has not been hit as hard as some of the other cities in the Southeast. It’s been a scary tornado season down here!

Hillary May 31, 2011 at 11:37 pm

I found your blog on a healthy living blogroll somewhere…I cannot remember which one. I am glad I found you!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:10 am

Hillary,
Me too. :)

Averie (LoveVeggiesandYoga) May 31, 2011 at 11:44 pm

“Honestly, I use coffee to dilute my mug of cream every morning. Anyone else out there prefer their coffee white and sweet? “–

You just described me!!!!!

I noticed on your twitter picture (which I think tonite is the first time I’ve ever tweeted you or noticed? lol) but yes, it was SFSB not AB.

I never liked AB that much. SFSB or PB is where it’s at for me!

How i found you? Omg how can i remember? It’s been 2+ yrs ago!! And a 1000 wonderful emails since then :)

Sylvia May 31, 2011 at 11:47 pm

Since I live all the way over yonder in S. Korea, I’m not commenting for the giveaway but I just wanted to let you know how I came across your blog.

I was searching for ways to thicken my protein shakes and was looking up xanthan & guar gums on google and saw a post about protein ice cream and that’s how I found your blog! You also introduced me to iHerb.com and I am sooooo thankful for that. I order so much stuff from there.

It’s funny that your blog is the only blog out of hundreds that I read each day, that I remember how I came across finding it. I always look forward to reading it each day. And your little girl is so stinkin cute! We need to see pictures of her more often! :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:12 am

Sylvia,
Haha – the gums brought you to me. Who would’ve thought? :)

Thanks so much for reading, and I’m happy to hear you are loving iherb. I order a lot from there as well. In fact, just got a shipment of shampoo and conditioner from them. Can’t believe how much money I save shopping on that site!

Andrea May 31, 2011 at 11:53 pm

Found your blog on the “similar websites” tab on Google Reader–I had blogs like Chocolate Covered Katie and Peanut Butter Fingers on there.

Beth May 31, 2011 at 11:56 pm

I stumbled upon your blog while looking for healthy recipes. Your honest writing style and balanced approach toward attaining health and wellness has inspired my own journey!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:13 am

Thanks Beth, that is such an encouraging comment to read. Reminds me why I started blogging in the first place. :)

Sarah May 31, 2011 at 11:58 pm

Hmm I remember that I found your blog through a blogroll, but can’t quite recall which one. Heck, it could’ve been anybody’s…you’ve got a lot of fans ; )

Tea-bag May 31, 2011 at 11:59 pm

Wow, I can’t remember for sure how I came upon your blog but it was one of the first I started reading (I think it was from Oh She Glows blogroll) & you totally got me into commenting because you always responded and made me feel like you cared what readers had to say!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:15 am

Tea-bag,
I don’t understand the bloggers that don’t respond to comments – I mean, why blog if you don’t interact with your readers. I know some are pressed for time, but at least take the time to answer questions, you know? Besides, the most rewarding part of starting my blog has been the friendships I’ve made with other bloggers/readers, and most of them I met through commenting.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:15 am

P.S. Glad you found me. :)

The Healthy Engineer June 1, 2011 at 12:06 am

I usually have a great memory, but I seriously cannot remember how I found it!

I can’t even place how I found most of the blogs I read/why I started reading healthy living blogs since I only used to read baking blogs before!

Emily June 1, 2011 at 12:09 am

I had to think about it for a minute. At first I was going to say I found it by Googling Nashville bloggers, but that is completely untrue. I attended PodCamp Nashville in 2010 and your brother’s presentation was the first one I sat in on of the day and he used your blog as an example. I went home and checked it out (I was just starting my own weight loss blog at the time) and POOF I was hooked!

birdie to be June 1, 2011 at 12:11 am

That is a hard one… maybe through fit foodie finds or Kath Eats Real Food. I adore all 3 of you.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:18 am

Aww, thanks Birdie to Be. Kath was the first food blog I read. Without her, I never would have started a blog of my own.

Jamee June 1, 2011 at 12:13 am

I found your blog because someone commented on my blog with his blog address. So I followed the link and he had your almond butter banana nut muffins recipe which brought me to your blog. Thank goodness because I make your muffins at least every month. I’m addicted to them!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:19 am

Jamee,
You know those muffins are probably one of my most popular recipes, and I never make them! Why? Need to get some bananas and remedy that soon.

Allie June 1, 2011 at 12:15 am

Hmm … I honestly don’t know … It was about 2 years ago, I think. I liked it here, and you are just lovely and, thus, I kept coming back.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:19 am

Thanks Allie, glad you stayed. :)

Stephen June 1, 2011 at 12:26 am

I was googling Almond Butter and your blog came up. I’ve been hooked since.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:20 am

Thanks for sticking around Stephen. :)

Stephanie June 1, 2011 at 12:39 am

Like many of the others, I can’t remember how I found your blog. I’m so glad I did, though. I’ve been reading for about 2 years and will continue to read as long as you’re here!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:20 am

Thanks Stephanie. I will continue to blog then. :)

Katie June 1, 2011 at 12:43 am

I honestly can’t remember how I found you. I remember that I was like, What the hell is almond butter? though. My, how times have changed.

I am pretty much tahini and sfsb these days too. And I can’t find the nothing added sunbutter anywhere!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:21 am

Katie,
The only place I can find it is at Whole Foods, but you can order it on Amazon. Cheaper online anyway.

kelsey June 1, 2011 at 12:51 am

I’ve been reading for a while, so I don’t remember specifically how I found it. Likely the name caught my eye while reading someone’s blogroll or through comments on another blog.

Natalie @ cinnamon bums June 1, 2011 at 12:54 am

i really dont remember how i came upon your blog either. i know i had been reading for a long time before i first commented. probably through someone’s blogroll!

UMMRANIA June 1, 2011 at 12:58 am

I live in Germany, so I am not entering the contest (unless thats allowed of course :) ) I just wanted to tell you I found you through SparkPeople, it was a link on there that brought me here. Afterwards antime I googled any type of nut butter there you were so I knew I had to be a reader, I really come here everyday! Thanks!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:22 am

Oh my gosh, thanks Ummrania. The giveaway is open to international readers as I’m doing the shipping. :)

Lenna June 1, 2011 at 1:00 am

Oh, it´s been a long time since I first came to your blog. If I remember it correctly, you were featured on some website as a blog worth visiting…So I visited and it WAS really worth it:)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:23 am

Thanks Lenna. :)

kari June 1, 2011 at 1:04 am

Hmm…can’t remember how I found your blog, either!

All I know is that I go looking for recipes sometimes, and often I’ll find awesome blogs like yours or CCKatie’s. Then I have to add them to my RSS Reader and get excited whenever I see a new post!

Funnily enough, I got my mom hooked on your blog too! :P

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:24 am

Kari,
Yes, I’ve been told before I’m multi-generational. Hehe. Thanks so much for reading and for spreading the HEAB love. Glad you found me and Katie. Love that girl. :)

carrie June 1, 2011 at 1:17 am

found you thru Gena and choosing raw. love almond butter but you are making me very curious to try your new fave….

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:29 am

Carrie,
Try it! So good. :)

Alina June 1, 2011 at 1:17 am

ok in silly hope to win the coffee here it goes: (embarassing) – i was googling images of kabocha squash and kept coming across your blog for a few weeks … in my defense it was only during kabocha season. however i think the first post i read was fermented oats. i had never had oat bran in my life up until a few months ago. thanks to u i finally tried them. i thought all bran is .. well bran-ie. so now i am a regular reader. i love coffee wayyyy to much. i even started roasting my own beans. but i’ve never tried equal exchange.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:30 am

Alina,
Haha, not embarrassing at all. So happy to hear my beloved kabocha squash brought us together and even happier to hear you tried oat bran. See, I told you it was good. ;)

Hillary [Nutrition Nut on the Run] June 1, 2011 at 1:25 am

I’ve visited several times in the past, but I just clicked through from The Fitnessista :)

Linda June 1, 2011 at 2:09 am

Wow! I can’t even remember… google maybe?!?

abbey June 1, 2011 at 2:17 am

huh? i don’t even remember… i think looking for healthy recipes and almond butter??

kelsey June 1, 2011 at 2:29 am

i remember seeing the name of your blog and going, ‘almond butter?’ hahah!

Hannah June 1, 2011 at 3:36 am

Unfortunately I’ve been reading your blog for long enough that I can’t remember precisely how I found it (probably blog-hopping). Instead, this is my imagined story:

I woke up one morning and thought “lo! I hear the beautiful strains of self-love, hope, and deliciousness calling to me from my laptop”, at which point I opened it up to find your website one my screen, put there by Happy Fairies.

The end.

P.S. I’m so addicted to sunflower seed butter that I’m actually considering forbidding myself from buying it. I recently found the crunchy version, jam-packed with crispy roasted whole sunflower seeds, and ate two-thirds of the jar in one night with a spoon. I know, deep down, this isn’t good for me :S

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:33 am

Hannah,
Love how you found me in your imagination. :)

I did the same thing with the crunchy sweetened sunbutter once. I was sitting at work dipping baby carrots in it, looked up, and the jar was almost gone. I went and showed my boss, and he didn’t understand the horrified look on my face. Haha. Ever since, I’ve scooped out my servings and walked away from the jar!

meghan @ struggle muffins June 1, 2011 at 3:54 am

How I came across your blog…hmm, that’s actually quite a head scatcher.I’m not sure but it might have been via EatLiveRun? I don’t know, I’ve been reading HEAB for about two years and enjoying seeing your healthy, happy journey.

I hear you on the sunflower seed butter front; its the only item that can contend with my love for peanut butter. So different, so yummy!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:33 am

Meghan,
So glad you found me. Love Jenna. :)

Joob June 1, 2011 at 3:55 am

A lot of the blogs I read have links back to your site, one day I got curious and just kept reading :D !

Jennie June 1, 2011 at 4:16 am

Honestly, I don’t remember how I came across your blog but you’ve been on my Google Reader for as long as I can remember! My best guess is that I found your blog through a recipe link on someone else’s blog ;)

Laura June 1, 2011 at 4:44 am

My friend sent me links every once in a while to posts she thought I’d find interesting. It didn’t take long to add yours to my Blogs I Must Read list. :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:34 am

Laura,
Yay – so honored I’m on your list. Thank you. :)

Ashlei June 1, 2011 at 4:47 am

I wish I could remember! It was back when I first started getting into blogging. Probably something to do with almond butter or one of your great recipes.

Lauren at Keep It Sweet June 1, 2011 at 4:48 am

Amazing giveaway! I think I found you from a comment on another blog:-)

sarah b. June 1, 2011 at 4:59 am

way back when i started reading blogs, i was looking for one that focused on healthy eating but yoga rather than running as a means of staying in shape. i adore running but i really love reading about others’ experiences with yoga. then i noticed how much fat is in your diet and i too need tons of healthy fat in order to stay healthy. it makes an enormous difference in my life and how i look, particularly skin and hair. so it was instant blog love :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:35 am

Sarah B.
Sounds like we are kindred spirits. Thanks for reading. :)

Wendy Heath June 1, 2011 at 5:04 am

I was lurking the vegetarian and vegan livejournals trying to get healthy ideas when Krystina from Organically Me was posting about starting her blog. Through some linkage I found HEAB and spent my next several night shifts reading through old entries! The rest is history I have been hooked ever since!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:36 am

Thanks Wendy,
I always kind of cringe when people say they read through my archives. I’ve done some crazy things in the kitchen, huh? I blame the Vita-Mix. ;)
Thanks for reading, and I’m glad you found me!

Katie June 1, 2011 at 5:07 am

It’s been awhile and I don’t remember anymore! I think you commented on someone else’s blog and I clicked over and ended up staying. :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:36 am

Katie,
Thanks for sticking around! :)

Kimberly @ Healthy Strides June 1, 2011 at 5:08 am

I wish I could remember but I don’t! I know I started reading when you were pregnant with Summer, so that’s something. I’m sure I saw someone link to one of your amazing meals and I clicked over and explored.

Junia @ Mis Pensamientos June 1, 2011 at 5:15 am

ahhh i love sunbutter organic! thanks for introducing it to me! :D

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:36 am

Junia,
You’re welcome. :)

Jessica P June 1, 2011 at 5:34 am

I’m almost positive I found you through some other bloggers blogroll- can’t remember which one though.

Amy June 1, 2011 at 5:36 am

I stumbled across you by reading Ashley’s blog, The Edible Perspective :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:37 am

Amy,
Glad you found me. Ashley is one of my favorites. I’ve loved reading all of her home project posts as of late. I think their place is looking amazing!

Jill Mace June 1, 2011 at 5:39 am

I have a love/hate relationship with peanut butter. I was searching blogs for peanut butter recipes and anything peanut butter. Another blogger had your link on their page.( I can’t recall this second which blog) When I first saw that you had such a love relationship with almond butter-I thought you were crazy! How could you not love peanut butter this way???? You seemed so passionate about almond butter- I decided to try. I didn’t want to like it. I didn’t want you to be right! After the first lick of the first spoon I had to admit defeat! The crazy thing is…… there is now NO peanut butter in my pantry! Thank you for introducing me to almond butter! Now I have to go out and find sun butter! :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:57 am

Jill,
Always good to hear from a convert.
Thanks so much for reading. :)

katie June 1, 2011 at 5:42 am

Heather! Geez its been forever since I have been reading your blog, I don’t know which blogger exactly lead me to yours : p

I am happy I did find your blog! U are a amazing blogger, mother, and you make some yummy stuff too!

LOVE the new blog look!!!!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:57 am

Thanks Katie! :)

Brandi B June 1, 2011 at 5:47 am

I came upon your blog by clicking on a link to one of your recipes from another blog I read frequently–I read over your story and looked at some of the recipes and thought your ideas fit mine pretty well:)

Colleen June 1, 2011 at 5:48 am

What a great giveaway! I got my feet wet in blog reading by following Glamour’s Vitamin G, and through that, I found Gina’s Fitnessista blog. I loved her blog and wanted more healthy ideas. You were on her blogroll and I loved your title, so I hopped on over to check you out!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:58 am

Colleen,
So glad you hopped. Gina is great – I love her!

mary June 1, 2011 at 5:53 am

when i’m bored i just type in different health words looking for blogs related. can’t remember which word found me yours but i liked it enough to bookmark and read it regularly

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:59 am

Thanks Mary – glad I showed up in your search. :)

lindsay June 1, 2011 at 5:54 am

Oh i love sunbutter and coffee. too great finds. Would love to see Miz’s cards too. Actually, I think thats how I found you! She’s an austinite and I was on her site. Small world.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:00 am

Lindsay,
Some day I will travel to Austin and be surrounded by some of my favorite bloggers. Will you take me to the Hula Hut? :)

JT @ the Faux Foodie Girl June 1, 2011 at 5:57 am

I searched for breast-feeding advice and I came upon this amazing food blog! Love all food and baby stuff especially since I have a 4-week old baby!!!!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:00 am

JT,
Really? Wow – I’m so glad you found me and many congrats on your baby. So exciting. I love hearing from other mamas!

Carlee June 1, 2011 at 6:02 am

I’ve been reading your blog for a while and I can’t exactly remember. I think I was googling weight loss blogs and ran across it and bookmarked it.

Jenny June 1, 2011 at 6:12 am

I found you via Ashley-The Edible Perspective and I’m SO thankful!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:01 am

Jenny,
I’m thankful too. Love Ashley. Isn’t her house looking great? I’ve loved following her DIY journey. :)

Claire June 1, 2011 at 6:13 am

Blink…I don’t even remember! But I’m sure it was through a link in another blog. Love those workout cards– I can see how great they’d be with a little one. I have four month old myself and rarely have more than five minutes to workout!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:07 am

Claire,
The cards are awesome for fitting in those 5-minute workouts. Trust me, I get it! :)

L.G. June 1, 2011 at 6:22 am

I came upon your blog by looking through the comments on Kath’s blog! You said something so I clicked your name and have followed you ever since. :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:08 am

Thanks for following L.G. :)

Bridget June 1, 2011 at 6:24 am

I can’t totally remember since it was nearly 2 years ago, but I think I stumbled upon your blog from KathEats. I couldn’t resist clicking after I saw the title — I was really into almond butter at the time (who am I kidding – still am!).

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:06 am

Bridget,
I always wonder how my blog would have turned out if I’d named it something else. I don’t even remember why or how I really chose Heather Eats Almond Butter, but I think it was meant to be. :)

kirsten June 1, 2011 at 6:25 am

I can’t remember how I found you initially- I think a recipe for oats? But I’ve loved your recipes all along (and now have an 18 month old).

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:05 am

Kirsten,
It goes by so fast, huh? I can’t believe Summer is already 7 months! Thanks for reading. :)

Alex @ Spoonful of Sugar Free June 1, 2011 at 6:28 am

Ohmygosh, Heather!! This giveaway is ridiculous! I am such a HUGE fan of strong coffee, short strength workouts, and sunflower butter!!!!

I found your site through Chocolate Covered Katie :) And ever since, I’ve been a reader! I love all your posts, and I love your eats!!! They are so similar to mine, I guess that’s why I like it :P Plus Summer is just so gosh darn adorable!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:04 am

Alex,
Yes, I am so glad we found each other. I think we could eat every single meal together and be two very happy girls. :)

Gina G June 1, 2011 at 6:29 am

I honestly can’t remember either! It has been quite a long time, but I got hooked right away :)

Sarah June 1, 2011 at 6:29 am

I found your blog from another blog when I was looking for new blogs. I don’t read the one, I clicked from anymore, but I still read yours!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:03 am

Sarah,
Haha, thanks for still reading…and I won’t tell the other blogger. ;)

Heather June 1, 2011 at 6:33 am

Well…….I think I discovered your blog through a search of some kind. I was immediately drawn to the two things we have in common……our name and almond butter! Thanks for all the sharing that you do!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:02 am

Thanks for reading Heather. :)

Abby @ Have Dental Floss, Will Travel June 1, 2011 at 6:36 am

I’m pretty sure I found your blog looking for a recipe – it was right around the time you announced you were pregnant!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:01 am

Abby,
Were you searching for Pop-Tart and grilled cheese recipes? ;)

Melanie June 1, 2011 at 6:39 am

I think I found your blog via somebody’s Blogroll… can’t even remember, but I’ve been a daily reader ever since!

Erica June 1, 2011 at 6:41 am

What a fun giveaway! I don’t know which part I’m most excited about! I have been obsessed with sun butter as of late- so delicious. How I found your blog? Gosh Heather! Its been SO long that I’ve been reading that I can’t even remember :) I’ve just always loved me some HEAB

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:00 am

And I’ve always loved me some Itzy. :)

Fallon June 1, 2011 at 6:46 am

I wish I could remember the exact blog I found you on but I can’t remember. I know it was on a blog roll because when I first started getting into the whole foodie/health blogging thing I use to check out everyone’s blog roll. I instantly knew your blog would be a blog I could read all the time. I love it!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:58 am

Thanks Fallon. :)

Stacey June 1, 2011 at 6:57 am

Searching for vegan ice-cream recipes right after I became unable to eat dairy. I was sad I could no longer enjoy some of the foods I grew up loving, but your blog along with others showed me that there still plenty of new yummy foods I could still have.

Maren June 1, 2011 at 7:04 am

I don’t even remember exactly how I found you! You were one of the first blogs I found, though! How crazy is that! I’ve been reading your blog since last February or March and I LOVE how you’ve evolved as a blogger! It was so fun to “be a part of” your pregnancy and now see you as a mom! Thanks for being so great!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:57 am

Thanks Maren. That is pretty crazy – glad I was one of your “firsts”. ;)

Amy June 1, 2011 at 7:07 am

Hi Heather! I found your blog through Carrots n Cake, which I found through Roni’s weigh. Those were the original blogs I read (I didn’t know what a blog was before then!) and I still love them, especially through the pregnancies! :)

Deborah June 1, 2011 at 7:09 am

Mmmm….delicious giveaway!

I really can’t remember how I came across your blog, been enjoying it for so long. We have a lot of the same food likes, so I guess it was just natural!

Thanks and have a great day!

Nikki June 1, 2011 at 7:11 am

Wow, how did I come across your blog… thinking…thinking. I’m pretty sure I happened upon it while looking up nut butters or something.

I’m so glad I did! You’re a joy to follow :) THANK YOU!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:56 am

Nikki,
Thank you and thanks for reading!

Whitney June 1, 2011 at 7:13 am

It was funny because I found your blog via KERF and was reading and realized “that’s Chris’s wife!!”. I had just met you the week before!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:55 am

Whitney,
I remember. Chris loves telling that story. :)

Alia June 1, 2011 at 7:14 am

I actually didn’t find you through another blog…I found you through your “Confessions of a Former Runner” post. I was an avid yogi, but had been a runner in the past and was starting to start it up again. Something wasn’t clicking, I was looking for a reason/response/anything…and voila! I think you were the first site that came up after my search…and then I feel in love with your story, your writing, your personality shone threw…and I follow HEAB every day now! :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:54 am

Alia,
I love how you found me. Thanks for reading, and yay for yoga! It’s been so good to me over these last few years, and I am so grateful for my practice. :)

Joanna June 1, 2011 at 7:22 am

I don’t remember exactly how I found your blog (so glad I did!) But I do know it was one of the first Healthy Living Blogs I discovered & after following your posts for only a couple days, I was hooked!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:52 am

Thanks for sticking around Joanna. :)

Kathryn June 1, 2011 at 7:29 am

I’m pretty sure I found you off of someones blog roll but don’t remember which one it was :( I love the blog though!! One of my absolute favorites!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:52 am

Thanks Kathryn. :)

Sara June 1, 2011 at 7:30 am

I came upon your blog when searching for healthy eating/living blogs while recovering from an ED. So glad I did :)

Christine June 1, 2011 at 7:34 am

Like Amy, I’m pretty sure I came via Charlotte, over at The Great Fitness Experiment. If not that, then probably to Google reader recommendations.

Anisha June 1, 2011 at 7:39 am

I have to join some of the others and say I can’t remember how I found your blog either! Something tells me that someone on another blog linked to a recipe of yours and I followed that..and was hooked from then on! :)

Jessica@ Fruit and Veggie Tales June 1, 2011 at 7:40 am

I think I found your blog through Fitnessista’s blogroll! I also love Almond Butter so that’s why I was drawn in! lol Thanks for the giveaway and thanks for responding to my last question! I appreciate that! :-) Have a good day!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:51 am

Jessica,
From one almond butter/Fitnessista lover to another, thanks for reading. :)

elisa June 1, 2011 at 7:43 am

Your blog showed up in my suggestions box…and I do love to read it

Kendra June 1, 2011 at 7:43 am

I saw your picture on the blogger babes calender and thought “Who is this gorgeous, uber cool chick?!” The picture linked to your blog. I’ve been reading ever since.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:50 am

Really? I was so happy to be a part of Deb’s calendar – such a good cause. Thanks for reading Kendra! :)

Alison (Fueling fir Fitness) June 1, 2011 at 7:43 am

I was an aquaintenace of your blog through various blog rolls until I discovered google reader and officially subscribed. Now I’m a happy friend / loyal reader :)

sarah June 1, 2011 at 7:51 am

I found you through the Fitnessista’s blogroll- glad I did!
Iv always wanted to try Sunbutter, can’t get it here in Scotland so my fingers are crossed!
Xxx

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:26 am

Sarah,
I’m glad too. :)

Rachel June 1, 2011 at 7:51 am

De-lurking here! I’m sorry to say I don’t remember exactly how I came across your site, but it was definitely from another blog – perhaps Charlotte of the GFE? Anyway, I love all your crazy food combinations and the fact that you are all about dietary fat. You have also inspired my new-found obsession with tahini. I pour it on everything these days!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:25 am

Rachel,
Charlotte and tahini – 2 of my favorite things in life. Glad you found me! :)

Meghan June 1, 2011 at 7:57 am

I found your blog when researching low-sugar recipes and the benefits of a low-sugar diet.

Holly @ The Runny Egg June 1, 2011 at 7:59 am

The first blog I started reading was actually Fitnessista — and the first post of hers that I read had a link to your blog — she had made some recipe of yours. From there I started reading yours and became hooked!

Aly Holland June 1, 2011 at 7:59 am

Hello Heather!

I am a college student at Belmont University (Go Nashville!!), and stumbled across your blog while searching “nutritional food blogs”. It truly lives up to the description. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out you are from Nashville! I love it here, and am so glad the cyber world got a little smaller.

My room-mate and I love to make almond butter. When the college budget allows, we go to trader joe’s or whole foods, get raw almonds, grind them, and spruce them up with our own spices. Perhaps we could send you a sample : )

Hope all is well, neighbor!

Best,

Aly

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:24 am

Aly,
I’m often in the Belmont/12th South area. I’ll just stop by. ;)

Emily June 1, 2011 at 8:01 am

I found your site on fANNEtastic food’s blogroll. I love your blog!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:23 am

Thanks Emily!

Michelle June 1, 2011 at 8:02 am

I found your blog through very flattering mentions on other numerous other blogs :-)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:22 am

Michelle, glad you found me. I’m flattered. :)

Hannah@mindrunningwild June 1, 2011 at 8:05 am

Hi Heather. I’m pretty sure yours was actually the first blog I read/found. I probably found it by looking up a recipe for something, although I don’t know what it was. I’ve never failed to be amused, inspired and fed by your blog though. Thanks for being such a great writer, photographer, and just a great person. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has loved following your journey as I undergo my own.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:20 am

Hannah,
Oh wow, thanks for reading and for all your support. Happy you found me. :)

Katherine June 1, 2011 at 8:08 am

Mmm I’ve just started using sunflower seed butter and I’m hooked. At first I wasn’t a fan, but now I crave the creamy texture. I can only find it at Trader Joe’s, and while it is delicious, it has evaporated cane juice and salt. I would love to try a brand that has nothing added.

I found your blog through Healthy Tipping Point, I think. It has been so long that I can’t actually remember for sure.

Nesrin June 1, 2011 at 8:09 am

I found you through Twitter… I saw a tweet from Olive & Sinclair mentioning that you had sent some of their chocolate to the District Chocoholic… and the rest was history!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:19 am

Nesrin,
Chocolate led you to me. I love it. :)

Brandi June 1, 2011 at 8:12 am

This might sound really weird but I found your blog through your brother a few years ago! When I first got on twitter, I followed him and after exchanging a few tweets he said “hey here’s my sisters blog, you might like it!”. And I’ve been lurking around here ever since! :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:13 am

Brandi,
So funny. I really should hire Scott as my PR rep. Thanks for sticking around. :)

lindsay June 1, 2011 at 8:16 am

I had just discovered how yummy almond butter was and typed it into google along with “blog” and there you were! It was a few years ago when you were vacationing in colorado-doing yoga on the porch and loving kombucha squash. I remember how happy I was for you when you got pregnant. Loved reading about your eating adventures in Michigan and I never could have imagined how beautiful it was there! I am so thankful because you have saved me lots of money through your tips and recipes. :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:32 am

Lindsay,
Wow, you’ve been around for a while. Thanks for sticking around and following all of my journeys, and I can’t wait to share your comment with CD – his wife helping others save money. I think he might just faint. ;)

busybee June 1, 2011 at 8:21 am

i actually came across your blog by googling “why don’t i lose weight when i run?” lol I’ve been addicted to your blog ever since! about the running thing…i run 5 miles 3-4x a week. i’m in pretty good shape and don’t need to lose weight (i also bike, yoga, rock climb, kayak etc), but i thought that running would be the ticket to ultimate weight loss (mostly fat loss) and a toned body. it’s actually not! wth? :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:30 am

Busybee,
Ah yes, I made that discovery a few years ago. Running = puff for me. I bet you look amazing with all your other activities. I’m pretty sure I would have bicep envy if I saw you. ;)

Katie June 1, 2011 at 8:22 am

I found your blog through another blog roll… hard to say when that was or whose blog I found first :D

Ana June 1, 2011 at 8:22 am

I got here looking for almond butter ideas/recipes and never left! :-)
My favorite is definitely almond butter, and to be quite true I never ate nut butter before discovering AB. I would buy pb for my son but even though I do like peanuts the pb doesn’t appeal to me. Now, AB… I eat it every single day, sometimes more than once a day and I never get tired of it – actually, I crave it every day, am I too obsessed? :-)
I would love those 100 cal workout thingies, sounds like a great idea, and definitely useful for a mom/student/wife in action!
Oh, and we just tried Sunbutter for the first time last week, can you believe that? I have seen so many people raving about it that I finally decided to try. I got 2 squeeze packets and I tell you, Matheus dominated and ate the whole two thingies, he loved it!
I was totally impressed as I am the one who likes to eat sunflower seeds and sprinkle in salads around here, but he simply fell in love for the stuff. He actually had one in a sunbutter sandwich (yep, just the SB!), and part of the other packet he added to a banana soft serve ice cream. Totally impressed me to see him eat sunbutter instead of pb, he really liked the stuff. Needless to say it would be really cool to get a coupon for a free jar, Matheus would love that!
Ans thanks for letting me know there is one without the salt and sugar added, the packets I got are the regular kind and I am a purist when it comes to nut/seed butter myself.
Happy Heather’s Day!! :-)
Ana

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:28 am

Ana,
Too obsessed with almond butter? Never!

Thanks so much for always reading and for your sweet comments Ana. Both you AND Matheus have been so encouraging to me over this past year. Your stories and advice have helped get me through all the ups and downs of mamahood – they really have, and I appreciate it more than you know. :)
P.S. Are you done with school?!?

Maria June 1, 2011 at 8:25 am

I found your blog by following a link on Polly’s blog. I miss that sweet lady’s posts. I pray that she and her family are doing well.

Thank you for putting your heart into every post. Your blog brightens my day.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:25 am

Thanks Maria. :)

Polly and I keep up through email, and they are doing well. It’s been an adjustment with everything going on with Abbi, but they are taking it all in stride and staying positive. She’ll be back blogging soon. :)

Danielle June 1, 2011 at 8:25 am

I’ve been reading so long now I almost forget how I stumbled upon your blog! I am positive it was from you being mentioned on someone elses blog, and lets face it, with a name like “Heather Eats ALMOND BUTTER” how could I NOT check it out!

Sara S June 1, 2011 at 8:26 am

I found your blog when Erin Shea linked to your pictures from when you were in the yurt in CO. I was instantly hooked!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:24 am

Sara S,
Oh, I miss the yurt!!! That was an amazing 3 weeks – loved loved LOVED it! Thanks for reading. :)

Pooja June 1, 2011 at 8:26 am

Hmm..I can’t remember, but I think it was by searching for almond butter recipes.

Rachael June 1, 2011 at 8:28 am

I believe I found your blog while reading Oh She Glows blog? I can’t remember….maybe it was KathEats. Either way I’m glad I did!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:23 am

Rachael,
Me too! :)

Angela June 1, 2011 at 8:28 am

I found you through a link from a fellow blogger!

Melissa June 1, 2011 at 8:36 am

I’m pretty sure I found you through an inspiring comment or recipe that was cross referenced in The Fitnessista’s blog last year (I think?). nonetheless, I was one click away from most favorite blog!!! Although I don’t eat meat or butter, your recipes are always inspiring and you are constantly evolving based on what’s going on in your life…just as it should be:) I just brought three pounds of japanese eggplant and would love to make a dip using the sunbutter. Hope I win!!!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:23 am

Melissa,
You are so kind. Thank you for reading, and if you win, then you must send the recipe for your eggplant dip. Deal? ;)

Melissa June 1, 2011 at 8:01 pm

That’s a deal. I promise it will be HEAB worthy:)

Jo. June 1, 2011 at 8:36 am

I can’t remember exactly, but I think I found your blog on the blog roll of another of my favorite blogs – maybe Kath? Or Mama Pea? I honestly can’t remember – but I do remember seeing “almond butter” in the title and thinking – wow! I have to check this out!

Michelle June 1, 2011 at 8:37 am

I found your blog by clicking around on someone else’s blogroll. But what caught my attention was a post about vacationing in Colorado . . . . I *heart* Colorado, and hope to live there someday! Turns out I love reading about everything you put on the blog, so I’m officially hooked!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:21 am

Michelle,
Colorado will always hold a special place in my heart too. Such an amazing state. Happy to hear I hooked ya. Thanks for reading! :)

Tania June 1, 2011 at 8:38 am

i kept reading about this HEAB on other blogs, and wondered what on earth it was about! then one day i finally googled you, and here i am!
You have a fantastic site, summer is just adoreable, and your posts are full of positivity and great content. I love your veggie combinations, and you’ve inspired me to add more veggies to my daily routine!!

have an awesome day! :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:20 am

Thanks so much Tania!
In Veggie Love,
HEAB :)

Meagan June 1, 2011 at 8:39 am

Hi Heather, I have been loving the sunbutter lately too! I was all out this past week and decided instead of paying 6.99 for a jar, that I would make some myself. It’s delicious and not as runny. I like the runniness of the Sunbutter stuff though, it makes a nice topping for some of my grain free breakfast bowls. I think I heard of you through “blog roll surfing” – click through a bloggers blog roll and then their blog roll and then their blog roll.. etc. haha

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:19 am

Meagan,
Good to know your homemade sunbutter turned out good. Sunflowers themselves are so cheap, but I’ve never tried making my own. I’ll have to do that as I’m all out – but yeah, I’d miss the runny factor. I love the drizzable Sunbutter.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:20 am

*Sunflower SEEDS are cheap. Ha, I don’t harvest my own seeds…not yet anyway. ;)

Sarah June 1, 2011 at 8:42 am

I found your blog through reading other health blogs and looking at their blog roll. I’m glad I found you!!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:17 am

Sarah,
Me too. :)

Jamie June 1, 2011 at 8:46 am

I stumbled upon your blog when I googled “Oat Bran vs. Rolled Oats”. That post from Feb 2009 is what popped up and the rest is history. ;) Thanks for both the practical info and the not-so-practical stuff too. I love it all!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:17 am

Jamie,
You’d be surprised at how many people google that exact same phrase and find my blog. I had no idea that post would lead so many people to HEAB. Glad you found me and thanks for reading. :)

Sandra g June 1, 2011 at 8:46 am

I came upon your blog through a link on the Peas and Thank You blog a long while ago. I have been reading ever since.

Jen @ keepitsimplefoods June 1, 2011 at 8:47 am

HEAB- I’ve been reading your blog for years, since 2008! I’m pretty sure I discovered it when a co-worker said something like, “You have to check out this blog, HEAB. She eats the craziest stuff!” I was hooked immediately! :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:15 am

Jen,
Yep, that’s me. Crazy food stuff girl. Please thank your coworker for spreading the HEAB love – and so early in my career too. ;)

Jess June 1, 2011 at 8:50 am

I found your blog on another blogger’s “blog roll”, but it was so long ago I can’t remember whose blog it was.

And I <3 strong coffee!

Neena June 1, 2011 at 8:54 am

I honestly have no idea how I found your blog. I’ve been following for so long now and I have loved hearing your adventures, esp. your pregnancy and Summer’s arrival. I *think* I may have done a search for “almond butter” but I honestly have no clue anymore!

Stephanie June 1, 2011 at 8:55 am

It was definitely from another blogger, but heck if I know which one. I think every blog I read originally stems from Food, Fitness, Fashion; Carrots & Cake, and Meals & Miles at this point.

Coffee…dark with milk, no sugar. Deeeeeelicious.

brandi June 1, 2011 at 9:02 am

oh man, all my favorite things!!! except that I still haven’t tried sunbutter – it’s time :)

I found you through another blog (don’t remember which one) about a year and a half ago, and haven’t turned back!!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:14 am

Brandi,
Yes, it is time. :)

colleen June 1, 2011 at 9:03 am

I came upon it in another food blogger’s (I think it was Kath) blog roll and I liked the name.

Kheira Westphal June 1, 2011 at 9:06 am

I know I found your blog by way of another blog but I cannot remember which! I love almond butter, so I’m sure that’s what originally caught my attention but I’ve stayed because of everything else. I’ve been following now for about a year and enjoy your posts!!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:14 am

Thanks Kheira, glad you stuck around. :)

Tricia June 1, 2011 at 9:06 am

I found you from Oh She Glows and I’ve been hooked on HEAB ever since!

Jessica June 1, 2011 at 9:07 am

I actually found your blog through eating bird food’s blogroll. I stumbled upon hers by googling a recipe for healthy lunch ideas and now I’m completely hooked and can’t stop raving about the healthy blog community. Thanks for all of your wisdom and creative ideas for leading a healthy lifestyle!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:13 am

Jessica,
Thanks for reading. I love Brittany as well. Glad you found us both. :)

Laura June 1, 2011 at 9:07 am

Heather!!
I found your blog literally but typing “almond butter fanatic” into google. Hahaha, I discovered it and wanted to know who else was loving it and what recipes were possible. You have open my eyes to much more than just almond butter though! I love other nut butters too now and don’t shy away from trying new concoctions. Thank you for your guidance and fisdom (food-wisdom) :P

Laura

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 9:12 am

Laura,
Fidsom – ha, love it. Thanks for reading. :)

Chelsea June 1, 2011 at 9:10 am

Hmm….can’t remember, but maybe through KERF……

Been lovin’ the almond-butter, and the HEAB updates ever since! :)

Rufus June 1, 2011 at 9:11 am

I *THINK* I came across your blog from KathEats blogroll….but that was 2008 so my memory is a bit fuzzy. I was very inspired by your weight loss story and love your writing voice. A genuine and caring spirit shines through and you seem like someone I would be proud to call my friend. Many blogs have come and gone in my life (there are so many to read and so little time!) but I always seem to ask myself, ‘I wonder what Heather is up to?’.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:15 am

Thanks Rufus. Not up to much today. Summer is napping, and I’m just catching up on comments. :)

Dee June 1, 2011 at 9:12 am

Hi Heather! I found your blog through Kath. I love it! :)

Anna June 1, 2011 at 9:12 am

I think i discovered your blog by following a link from oh she glows. i’m so glad i did!

Rufus June 1, 2011 at 9:13 am

I forgot to add…thank you! You have inspired me to experiment with the foods I eat and find what works for ME, not to just ‘follow what another blogger is eating’.

Sara June 1, 2011 at 9:16 am

I honestly don’t remember how I found your blog (or many of the others I read, actually). I do know why I keep reading: your honesty, your interesting journey to your current lifestyle…and pictures of your adorable little girl, of course. :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:18 am

Thanks Sara. :)

Dani June 1, 2011 at 9:26 am

I dont remember how I found your blog!! I’ve been a loyal reader for almost three years(!) now. Yours was one of the first “healthy living” blogs I found, and at the time I remember reading all about your oat groat homemade yogurt projects. All of that was a little too “hardcore healthy living” for me, but I found it fascinating nonetheless. Your blog was also the first one I ever won a giveaway from, a POM apron and POM juice. Thanks for writing!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:17 am

Dani,
Haha – the POM apron giveaway. Those were some great comments. Thanks for sticking with me, glad you made it through my oatgurt phase. I think I lost some readers after that one! ;)

The Fine Balance June 1, 2011 at 9:27 am

I came across your blog through reading Erin’s Journey through her first Fitness COmpetition. Its on her blog roll and now on mine!

I really hope to win these amazing goodies! Would love to try the Tahini

xoxo

Lauren (PB&G) June 1, 2011 at 9:35 am

I really can’t remember how I came across your blog! It was so long ago that I started reading. I probably was searching for information on almond butter!

This is awesome, though! I’ve wanted to try Sunbutter for some time and have yet to find a coffee I really adore!

jen @ taste life June 1, 2011 at 9:36 am

Gosh, I actually can’t remember how I found your blog! I remember reading it on and off a couple of years ago…I probably found it through another blog…and then starting maybe 15 or 16 months ago I became a regular reader. But I’m not even sure what brought me back! Hopefully you weren’t going to use these answers to develop a marketing strategy :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:19 am

Jen,
Haha – nah, just curious. However which way you found me, I’m glad you’re here.

Jill in Chicago June 1, 2011 at 9:38 am

I came here through Mama Pea! (ie Peasandthankyou.com) I think I visited a couple of times, but became a ‘regular’ after the two of you met up in Phoenix. I love your new design!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:13 am

Thanks Jill, and I love Mama Pea! Did you know CD grew up in Chicago? He lived in Oak Brook.

Amber June 1, 2011 at 9:40 am

My best friend forwarded me a link to your blog. Well actually like 200 links. She would say “you have to see this recipe”. I love your recipes. In fact I am planning on using the 2 (4) ingredient fudge recipe later today. Oh and I fell in love with almond butter last night. I put some in fat free yogurt with stivia and I will never be the same.
Amber

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:12 am

Amber,
Just last night?!? What took you so long. ;)
Thanks for reading and many thanks to your friend for spreading the HEAB love. Enjoy your fudge!

Anna June 1, 2011 at 9:40 am

I am sure I found your blog through another blog. But now you are in my google reader. Excellent giveaway!

Danielle June 1, 2011 at 9:40 am

Hi Heather!
I’ve been a daily reader of your blog for a while now and I love it. I found you searching for ideas and recipes with healthier variations. I love your HEABified ideas but must of the time I can’t find many ingredients, as I don’t live in the US.
Love your oat ideas (my boyfriend looks at me as if I were crazy when I put avocado in my oats, lol)
So, hi from Mexico City to you, CD and Summer and thanks for writing your blog.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:11 am

Hi Danielle,
CD has given my food crazy looks for years. :)
Thanks so much for reading!

Sylvia @ LifeIsGoodWithFood June 1, 2011 at 9:41 am

I was googling on whether or not nut butter would help you lose weight, specifically almond butter. Lo and behold, it bought me to you and I’m so glad it did ;)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:10 am

Sylvia,
I’m glad too. You know you’re one of my favorites. :)

Sylvia @ LifeIsGoodWithFood June 1, 2011 at 11:22 am

Brushes lint off shoulder & pops up collar* Ahh yes, well bribing you with goodies in the mail definitely helped ;)

Ms Charlie June 1, 2011 at 9:41 am

John, your FIL introduced me (and other co-workers). He volunteers here at the food bank and checks in with me each morning to see what’s new at HEAB! He’s always talking about Summer.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:10 am

Ms Charlie,
Alice always tells us that John stares at photos of Summer all the time. So cute – he definitely loves his granddaughter AND St. Mary’s. :)

Jess@atasteofconfidence June 1, 2011 at 9:46 am

I think I came from a link on oh she glows, or another blog:)

Allie S June 1, 2011 at 9:48 am

I came across HEAB from another blogger’s blogroll. :)

Cindy June 1, 2011 at 9:51 am

GOSH Heather, I am not exactly sure I remember the first time I found you. I am pretty darn sure I found you on somebody’s blogroll.

hooked from day one!

I love where y0u were then and where you are as a new Mom!

and I am a former drinker of coffee to shovel in coffee mate.

I truly do like coffee and use a smidgen of coconut milk and sometimes Stevia or just cinnamon.

My one cup a day (or two if I feel like my evening is going to be super busy) and I’m good.

Have a great JUNE!
xo

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:08 am

Cindy,
Yes, we go way back. :)
Hope you have a wonderful June as well!

Jamie G June 1, 2011 at 9:52 am

I found you from Smitten Kitchen links! I’m glad I did.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:07 am

Jamie G, me too. :)

Leah June 1, 2011 at 9:55 am

It’s really rather simple: one day, I was bored and hungry, so I googled, “almond butter addiction,” and came up with your blog. Later at night, I googled a few creative overnight oats recipes and was directed to your blog again. I used my free will to decide that I was fated to read your blog, and have been ever since:)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:06 am

Leah,
Yes, sounds like fate to me. :)

SlimKatie June 1, 2011 at 9:56 am

I came across your blog only a couple of months ago when I was looking for recipes that had no added sugar. I am a total sugar addict and decided to do a 30-day detox of NO sugar! I loved finding all of your recipes… thank you!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:01 am

SlimKatie,
Glad you found me, and I hope you’re feeling better after your detox! :)

Cathy June 1, 2011 at 10:03 am

I’m not sure but I think it was from Kath’s blog, she was talking about something HEABified.

Holly Bensing June 1, 2011 at 10:03 am

I think, not positive, that I was searching for blogs on healthy, raw, or clean eating, and up popped yours! :)

Rose June 1, 2011 at 10:06 am

I found your blog through another healthy living blog, but I’m not sure which one!

Danielle F June 1, 2011 at 10:06 am

found your blog on a link from OhSheGlows. Now your site is on my ‘Favorites’ bar–I check it everyday!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:20 am

Danielle,
So honored to be on your Favorites bar. Thank you! :)

becky June 1, 2011 at 10:11 am

I found your blog trying to learn more about almond butter. believe or not, I’d never had it (though I adored pb), and reading your blog not only introduced me to the world of healthy living blogs, but also to all the glorious nut butters out there. I was missing out, and am now totally addicted :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:21 am

Becky,
You’re not alone. There are many people out there who have never tried almond butter, but I’m doing my best to spread the love. Thanks for reading. :)

Tracy Parrish June 1, 2011 at 10:11 am

I found you on Iowa Girl Eats!

I love sunflower seeds BUT never tasted the butter!

Emily June 1, 2011 at 10:13 am

Oh wow, it was a while ago that I found your blog… I think it might have been through Jess at Healthy Exposures? If not, though, it probably had something to do with protein ice cream – I think that’s the first recipe of yours I ever saw.

Steph - VegFortWorth June 1, 2011 at 10:14 am

I found your blog through a comment you left on happyherbivore.com back in 2009 or so. Crazy!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:22 am

Steph,
Wow, we go way back! :)

Rachel June 1, 2011 at 10:17 am

I’m glad I’m not the only one who can’t remember how they found your blog…wow, it’s been so long! Those gift items look fantastic–I’ve been dying to try MizFit’s cards, and I can’t believe I still have not tried sunflower seed butter!!

Kathy June 1, 2011 at 10:19 am

I think I found your blog through another blog! Either Kath Eats Real Food or Angela’s Ohsheglows. Love your blog, Heather!!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 10:22 am

Thanks Kathy. :)

Blair June 1, 2011 at 10:23 am

I’ve been reading for a couple years now, so it’s hard to remember! My first blog was the Self magazine blog “Eat Like Me.” Maybe she linked to you, or you left a comment there? All I know is from there, I started reading your blog, Healthy Tipping Point and Kath Eats Real Food.

Shelby June 1, 2011 at 10:23 am

I probably found your blog through someone else’s while I was still blogging myself! I just can’t remember the exact details, but I’m so glad I found it because everything about your blog makes me happy :)

Lori Z June 1, 2011 at 10:25 am

I have been reading your blog for so long that I honestly can’t remember how I found it. I look forward to every post you put out and I love how honest and “real” you are. Thank you so much for sharing yourself with so many people!

Christine June 1, 2011 at 10:30 am

I was somehow linked to your website when I did a search for peanut butter and chocolate recipes–it was when you made those yummy looking peanut butter cups.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 11:16 am

Christine,
Ah yes, the PB cups. They were yummy indeed. :)

Kath (My Funny Little Life) June 1, 2011 at 10:36 am

Coffee is definitely the best with cream! :D

I don’t really remember how I came to your blog. It was one of the first ones I’ve discovered, and as you see, I’m still here. ;)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 11:17 am

Kath, Yes, and I’m so happy you are still here. :)

Jen June 1, 2011 at 10:43 am

Awesome giveaway! I found your blog through Kiss My Broccoli.

Sarah June 1, 2011 at 10:44 am

I actually first found your blog when I googled almond butter when I decided I wanted to start eating healthier haha, and I’ve been hooked ever since :)

Rachel lauren June 1, 2011 at 10:48 am

I can’t remember how I found your blog, I’ve been reading so long. Hope that’s ok!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 11:15 am

Rachel,
of course that’s ok. Thanks for reading! :)

Rachel C June 1, 2011 at 10:49 am

I do not remember how I came to your blog. It might have been on Foodgawker, but still not 100% sure. Or, maybe I linked to you from another blog…humm, this is a good question.

I can tell you that I have been with your blog for almost 2 years now, and it has been fun watching your family grow and reading and learning how you have changed.

While I do not remember how I came to your blog, I am still here and loving it. Thank you.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 11:14 am

Rachel C,
and that is all that matters in the end. :)

Jenn June 1, 2011 at 10:50 am

I heard about you from my BFF..Polly, of course. And she ill link to blog:) So fun to hear about you through her, too:)
Thanks for all you do! BTW, Summer couldn’t be any cuter! Love all that dark hair!
Jenn from Fort Wayne

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 11:13 am

Jenn,
From one Polly lover to another, thanks for reading. About to do her yoga DVD actually. :)

Jenn June 1, 2011 at 2:04 pm

What would the world do without Polly?! Her dvd is great. I need to break that out more often. Keep on blogging. Love the recipe ideas!

courtney June 1, 2011 at 10:52 am

Hi Heather! I found your blog over a year ago when I did a google search on how to make amazing homemade almond butter. When I found out that you share my affinity for a ginormous bowl of oat bran, I decided we are foodie soul mates and have been hooked ever since. :)
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 11:11 am

Courtney,
Foodie soul mates indeed. Thanks for reading. :)

Sami June 1, 2011 at 11:01 am

Thanks Sami, and yes, times have changed. All for the better.
Love Janetha. :)

Suzanne June 1, 2011 at 11:04 am

I found your blog through another blog, but I can’t remember which one. It was either edibleperspective or ohsheglows.

This is a fantastic giveaway. I’ve been planning on buying some of that Sunbutter. I was buying Trader Joe’s, but didn’t like that it has sugar in it. I don’t get why they add it.

Baking 'n' Books June 1, 2011 at 11:09 am

I love a good strong black coffee. And yes Sunflower Seed Butter! I get the “Nuts 2 You” kind that’s in Canada – not sure if it’s available to you guys?

Hmm – what a good question! I have no idea…I think I always just “heard” about “bigger” bloggers like ELR, KERF and …HEAB :)

Oh wait! I think you did an interview once with “Slate”?? Correct me if I’m wrong! And I stumbled upon you that way.

Jess June 1, 2011 at 11:14 am

I’m pretty sure I found your blog from someone linking to it on another blog…I think it was from Fitnessista!

tink June 1, 2011 at 11:16 am

mmm coffee…love mine light & sweet.

i found your blog through a link on makeupalley. i became a vegetarian 9 months ago and was on the hunt for some new meals. it may have been an oatmeal post that brought me here.

love your blog, i read it daily. <3

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 11:18 am

Tink,
So glad you found me. Thanks for reading. Oatmeal often brings people together you know. :)

suzanne June 1, 2011 at 11:16 am

I found you when I first started blogging :) Can’t remember how but I’m sure glad I did!!

Tracy June 1, 2011 at 11:22 am

I’ve been reading your blog for so long I have NO idea where I found it!

You’re one of my absolute favorites, Heather! Always love your posts!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 2:45 pm

Thanks so much Tracy! :)

Valerie June 1, 2011 at 11:26 am

I did a google search a couple years back for oat bran, and your blog came up numerous times. Though I never got on board with the cauliflower oat bran, I did get some good ideas!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 2:45 pm

Valerie,
Haha – yeah, that is a phase of my life I’d like to forget. :)

sarah June 1, 2011 at 11:27 am

I cannot be sure, but I *think* I happened upon your blog while looking for sweet potato recipes. That was over a year ago & I got hooked :)

Melissa B. June 1, 2011 at 11:28 am

I found your blog via Elana’s Pantry. I’m so glad I did, and I love checking in on your and your life. I wish we lived closer, then we could be yoga buddies :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 2:42 pm

Melissa B,
Me too!

Alyssa June 1, 2011 at 11:29 am

I, too, like my cream with some coffee! (Or, as the Beastie Boys said, “I like my sugar with coffee and cream.”)
I also have the workout cards, including Miz’s. LOVE them!

I found your blog through Charlotte at “The Great Fitness Experiment,” and I’m SO glad I did!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 2:40 pm

Alyssa,
Me too! :)

Kim June 1, 2011 at 11:29 am

I found your blog via Kath Eats real Food. Love it!

Sharon Kim June 1, 2011 at 11:31 am

I actually found your blog a loooong time ago (maybe almost two years at this point?) through I believe Oh She Glows. I think she linked one of your recipes that she tweaked and posted. Have been reading ever since!

Michelle @ A Voracious Appetite June 1, 2011 at 11:38 am

I think I found your blog through another blog. That’s how I find most of the blogs I read. If a blogger I like suggests another blog I always check it out and most times love it myself!

Melanie June 1, 2011 at 11:42 am

I’m not sure how I found your site exactly, but I know it was about 6 months after you started blogging. It might have been on someone’s blogroll, but I know it was soon after I discovered healthy eating blogs. Once I started reading, I havne’t stopped. Love your blog :)

Organic Sunbutter – with nothing added. I could kiss you right now, lol. I’ve been wanting to try sunbutter, and I have tried the regular kind. I don’t buy a lot unless it’s organic and sunbutter is one of those items I’ve never seen as organic. Now I’m on a sun lovin mission……step aside my beloved tahini… I want me some sunbutter!!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 2:39 pm

Thanks Melanie, and yes, the organic Sunbutter is sooo good! I can only find it at Whole Foods, but you can also order it online. Thank you Amazon! :)

Liz June 1, 2011 at 11:43 am

my roommate showed me your blog when i was curious about finding more creative recipes focused on whole and balanced foods. It has definitely helped expand my cooking experience!

Chelsea @ Strawberry Sweat June 1, 2011 at 11:45 am

I started reading your blog almost a year ago, and I’m not sure I can even remember how I found it! My guess is that I found it through Meghann’s blog over at Meals and Miles (it was Graduate Meghann back then). Either way, I love reading your blog!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 2:37 pm

Thanks Chelsea, and I love Meghann. :)

mama June 1, 2011 at 11:53 am

I think i probably came upon it from Kath, Tina, or Jenna, dont really remember, but one of them! The cards sound like a great idea!

Neslie June 1, 2011 at 11:53 am

I came upon your blog by googling almond butter and costco (because I thought I had seen it there). Your link was in one of the top listings. I clicked on it and thus began my daily affair with blog reading…and learning! I’m so glad.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 2:35 pm

Neslie,
Ahh, Costco and almond butter – 2 of my favorite things in life. Glad you found me as well. :)

Nicole@GFonaShoestring June 1, 2011 at 11:54 am

Hi, Heather,
I’m not writing to enter the giveaway (I hope that came out okay!), but just to answer the question. I found your blog through Carrie at http://www.gingerlemongirl.blogspot.com/. She is my guide through all of the corners of the Internet that I would never, ever find on my own. She put something up on her Facebook page about your blog about a month ago.
I’m so drawn to your blog. Although I know many people say this so easily on the Internet, I don’t: I find you to be really authentic. Yours is the only blog I know of that receives so many comments, yet still has a personal touch. I always respond to comments on my blog, since that is why I do it in the first place (mostly it’s answer questions about my blog and my cookbook), but I find that so many bloggers don’t. And I am continually shocked that readers keep commenting on those blogs. I just don’t … get it.
Anyway, you seem kind and genuine. And people who come to you are maybe a little raw sometimes, and you’re gentle with them. Brava. Really.

xoxo
Nicole

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 2:30 pm

Nicole,
Thank you for such a kind comment and for reading. I don’t get the no response thing either. I mean why put yourself out there if you’re not going to respond to people’s questions on your blog posts. Just doesn’t make much sense does it?

chelsey @ clean eating chelsey June 1, 2011 at 12:00 pm

What a great package! I don’t remember how I found you – all I know is I’m so glad I did!

Roz June 1, 2011 at 12:01 pm

Hi Heather, I don’t actually remember how I found your site, but I’m glad I did! And I’m also VERY glad you haven’t given up on Almond Butter!!!!! :) Have a great day.

Corey @ runners cookie June 1, 2011 at 12:06 pm

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 1:33 pm

Corey,
I’m glad too. :)

Sparkle June 1, 2011 at 12:06 pm

I don’t comment often, but I have been reading for about a year now. I know that I found your site from a blogroll on a different site. I am pretty sure it was KERF. I really enjoy reading your site and love all of the sweet baby pics.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 1:25 pm

Thanks Sparkle.

Beth June 1, 2011 at 12:14 pm

I’ve only been reading this blog for a couple months, but I stumbled upon it when I searched for “healthy” during my search for blogs to follow on google reader! I love all the yummy recipies!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 1:25 pm

Beth,
Welcome to HEAB! Glad you’re enjoying the recipes. Thanks for reading. :)

gina June 1, 2011 at 12:18 pm

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 1:22 pm

Gina,
Thanks for sticking around. :)

katie @KatieDid June 1, 2011 at 12:20 pm

oh boy its been so long that I can’t really remember! But to be entered I’ll just say I was looking up a recipe for something with tahini and ghee! hehe 2 things I know you love.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 1:21 pm

Katie,
Yep, that works. :)

Kelly June 1, 2011 at 12:22 pm

Rosie June 1, 2011 at 12:47 pm

Honestly, I don’t remember how i found your blog. It was about year ago and I was probably searching for either kabocha or almond butter recipes (two of my FAVORITE thigns in the world). It was one of the first blogs I read before i got really into following them. So thank yOU!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 1:12 pm

Rosie,
You’re welcome. Glad you found us. :)

like so many others, I have been enjoying your blog for so long, I forget how I first found it!

Jen June 1, 2011 at 12:55 pm

I discovered your blog through other blogs. People would refer to your food and ideas all the time. Once I checked out your page, I became an instant follower! I love your strange food combinations and love of butter. :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 1:11 pm

Jen,
Sounds like we would be good friends if we lived close to one another. I’d definitely share the Buttermyd with you. ;)

Michelle June 1, 2011 at 1:07 pm

Honestly…Its has been more than 3 years ago that i stumbled upon HEAB so my memory is rusty, but I do want to say that I found you through some other savvy blogger’s awesome blog roll. I wanna say…Maggie at Saladgirl?

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 1:10 pm

Michelle,
MAGGIE – still one of my favorites. I think she and I would be best friends if I lived in NYC. :)

Kelsey June 1, 2011 at 1:16 pm

I found your blog off of Jenna (Eat, Live, Run). I had to really think about how I first discovered blogs (last year… I’m kind of late, I know)- I was reading reviews of Amy’s Organic frozen meals and I found Kath’s blog, then kept exploring the food blog world. Interesting.

Kellie June 1, 2011 at 1:16 pm

I found your blog through Meals and Miles. Yours was one of the first I started reading. I love your attitude towards diet and exercise and I have to say thanks to you I switched from running (high mileage) to yoga and walking and my body looks great and feels stronger and leaner.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 2:57 pm

Kellie,
That makes me so happy to hear. Thanks for reading. :)

Megan Minich June 1, 2011 at 1:20 pm

Better late than never! ;)
Thanks for reading.

Goodness, I have been reading your blog for so long I can’t even remember how I found it! How sad is that. I assume it was probably from someone’s blogroll..

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 3:03 pm

Jennifer, as long at your still here, I don’t find that sad at all. Thanks for reading. :)

Clare @ Fitting It All In June 1, 2011 at 1:40 pm

Katherine,
Have a wonderful trip!

Thank you so much!

Raychel,
You’re welcome. Thanks for reading. :)

Alisha June 1, 2011 at 2:24 pm

Nikki June 1, 2011 at 2:32 pm

I use google blog search a lot and I love nut butters and one day a while ago I was looking up key words of some of my favorite foods and the rest is history!

Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) June 1, 2011 at 2:42 pm

I’m pretty sure you posted something about oatgurt and from that point on I knew I had to keep reading! I’m so glad I did because I love how I’ve watched you evolve and change.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 2:47 pm

Sarena,
So funny, but I think that’s when I discovered you! You did a great post on the oatgurt, and I often directed people to your blog if they emailed me with their oatgurt mishaps. Loved you ever since. :)

katie June 1, 2011 at 2:49 pm

i LOVE your blog! I found it when i googled a recipe!

Evan Thomas June 1, 2011 at 2:51 pm

I found your blog through the Fitnessista blog roll, it’s now an essential part of my day: wake up, get breakfast, read your blog & CCK’s, and then ooh and ahhh over Summer :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 3:07 pm

Thanks Courtney. So happy to hear Summer and I are a part of your morning routine. I’m quite honored actually. :)

Sandy June 1, 2011 at 3:02 pm

I saw you on the news actually!! CTV- yay fellow Canadian! :D

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 3:08 pm

Sandy,
Really? I often wondered how many readers came from that clip. Oh, and I think it was Nick that you loved. ;)

Kaysie June 1, 2011 at 3:07 pm

I began a love affair with almond butter and my mom showed me your blog. I too started with almond butter and now LOVE me some sunbutter. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find the Organic Sunbutter anywhere in Phoenix so I have to get the regular that has sugar in it :(

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 3:09 pm

Kaysie,
One word: AMAZON!
Please tell your mom thanks for spreading the HEAB love. :)

Annamaria June 1, 2011 at 3:08 pm

Great giveaway! I found your blog while looking at KathEats’ blog roll, and thought, “Oh hey I eat almond butter too! Let’s check her out…” haha :D

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 3:10 pm

Annamaria,
I’m so glad you did! :)

juli June 1, 2011 at 3:11 pm

I think I found your blog through another blog, and I’ve been reading it daily for the past few years. I’ve made your “what’s in that bowl” numerous times, and also made coconut butter, nutella, all from you. Your a huge inspiration for me in the kitchen. I love some of the unique combinations that you wouldn’t think of putting together. My next thing to try is the oat bran with tahini and baker’s chocolate. I too eat that chocolate as candy and its wonderful! Thanks for all your fun ideas!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 4:07 pm

Juli,
You are a brave soul…CD won’t get near my “what’s in a bowl” meals. Hehe, men are such chickens! ;)

Thanks so much for reading and I think you are going to love the tahini/chocolate combo. Enjoy! :)

Esther June 1, 2011 at 3:11 pm

I found your blog through the fitnessistas blog! :)

Ann Claire June 1, 2011 at 3:13 pm

I found you through Kelsey (CleanTeenKelsey).
I know her in real life (well I haven’t seen her a in a few years, but still) and am facebook friends with her so her blog was the first blog I ever read. I then checked out a bunch of blogs on her blogroll, once of them being yours, and well I’ve been reading ever since!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 4:05 pm

Thanks Ann Claire. Kelsey seems so sweet. Nice to hear from one of her friends.

Katie June 1, 2011 at 3:14 pm

oooh, I would LOVE those workout cards! And I always love coffee….I like mine black.

I remember seeing “HEAB” on a comment you left on another blog, and was interested in what that stood for…so I clicked and found you!

carmen June 1, 2011 at 3:19 pm

came up on a recommended source on my google reader. :)

Carole Reece June 1, 2011 at 3:19 pm

Hi! I found your blog (and love it by the way) via Fitnessista !!

Shannon June 1, 2011 at 3:21 pm

I found your blog by way of another blog. It may have been Peas and Thank You but I am not sure. I love blogs about healthy foods, feeding children and healthy balanced exercise. My daughter has a severe peanut allergy so we avoid all nut foods, but I still find a lot to enjoy about your blog.

The Teenage Taste June 1, 2011 at 3:25 pm

Your blog was actually the first blog I ever read! I was googling “almond butter recipes,” came upon your blog, spent 2 hours that day stalking all of your posts, and the rest is history! :-D

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 4:03 pm

Teenage Taste. Love it. Thanks for reading and for always leaving sweet comments. :)

Jessica June 1, 2011 at 3:29 pm

I found your blog through a great comment you left on another blog that I was reading.

I absolutely love how your blog has evolved since I started reading it! It is following a similar path as my life is so it is really cool, your blog is one of the few that I have continued to read over the last couple of years. I love love love it!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 4:02 pm

Jessica,
Thank you so much. :)

Miranda (Untamed Kitchen) June 1, 2011 at 3:36 pm

I’ve always wanted to try SunButter, but I just thought they all had added sugar. I’m so glad to hear there’s one that doesn’t! I heard about your blog from our mutual friends: Tracey, Katherine, Mark and Erin, Debbie, Catherine…there’s probably more. They all love you and when I changed my diet they told me I HAD to talk to you. Thanks for your inspiration!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 3:59 pm

Miranda,
Yes, so glad we found each other. We need to meet up again soon. I’ll bring the cilantro! :)

Christin@purplebirdblog June 1, 2011 at 3:36 pm

I either found you from Kath or Lee from For the Love of Peanut Butter… wonder what ever happened to her… she was actually my first food blog!!!! :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 3:56 pm

Christin,
Really? I emailed Lee to ask her about starting a blog of my own. I think she needed to stop writing and reading food blogs to continue her recovery from her eating disorder. I hear she’s doing really well now.

Christin@purplebirdblog June 2, 2011 at 10:14 am

I figured that is what happened. I loved her spirit! :)

Alaina June 1, 2011 at 3:38 pm

Hmm, I think I found your blog through KERF. And I’ve been loving it ever since! :-)

E. June 1, 2011 at 3:53 pm

I’d LOVE to win these fun prizes! I’ve been lurking here for a couple months, totally inspired by the way you use ingredients with which I wouldn’t know how to begin! I found your blog via Jamie at mamaseacat.wordpress.com, whom I met via my work. I’m newly and reluctantly gluten-free, and her blog links to yours sometimes. I tried the carrot oats last week… but don’t think I made them right…:o\! Try, try again… Cheers!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 3:58 pm

E, don’t give up on the carrot cake oats. Really good if you get them right. The key is making sure the carrots are finely shredded and cooked well. I’ve decided chunks of half raw carrots in oats are not good. Thanks for reading and good luck with your gluten free journey. So many gluten free options out there nowadays that you’re going to do great! :)
Oh, and many thanks to Jamie for spreading the HEAB love!

Jen June 1, 2011 at 4:10 pm

I’m not completely sure but I believe I found your blog from foodgawker or a link on another blog with a recipe from foodgawker… coconut flour pancakes are essentially what brought me to you!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 4:54 pm

Jen,
Really? I’m so happy to hear it. Coconut flour changed my pancake makin’ life forever! :)

Felicia (Natural + Balanced) June 1, 2011 at 4:17 pm

I found your blog in 2009 I believe.. and I don’t even remember how! Maybe googling almond butter? Either way, after finding it I was hooked ever since :) Love ya Heab!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 4:53 pm

Love you too Felicia. So happy we connected. :)

Jennifer June 1, 2011 at 4:19 pm

I think I found you through my google reader suggestion, but I have been reading for so long I can’t remember! I love to try to your recipes.

Anne June 1, 2011 at 4:33 pm

so i’ve been sitting here for the last 6 minutes trying to remember how i found your blog..and it hit me JUST now. i was searching up ways to make kabocha!!! ahhh its been so long. :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 4:55 pm

Anne,
Yes, several others have told me they found me googling “kabocha recipes”. United by squash. I love it! :)

Lexi June 1, 2011 at 4:38 pm

I found it when you commented on Sarena’s blog :)

Rebecca @ How the Cookies Crumble June 1, 2011 at 4:51 pm

Those workout cards look great to stick in my suitcase! I always try to tear and collect stuff out of magazines to take on work trips with me but I never actually get a collection or even get them in the same place. I can’t remember how I first came across your blog since it’s been over a year… I’m guessing it probably came from a recipe you made that another blogger posted.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 4:56 pm

Rebecca,
Yes, the cards would be great for travel. I’m obsessed with them. They are great workouts – so quick and efficient. :)

Pickynikki June 1, 2011 at 5:07 pm

I found your blog via Kath Eats Real Food’s (KERF) blog over a year ago… I have enjoyed your recipes and cravings through your pregnancy, and you helped me add back in healthy fats into my diet after low fatting it for WAY TOO LONG!! Guess what, I am finding a way healthier weight having everything in moderation :) Thanks! Keep on writing! As a mother as well, who cares about the environment, and living my BEST life, I look forward to the new direction this blog is going!

Greta June 1, 2011 at 5:07 pm

I think I’m among the many people who have been reading your blog for so long… it’s just become a part of my life and feels like it’s always been there :)

It *may* have been via KERF, but I wouldn’t put money on it.

Angel7 June 1, 2011 at 5:08 pm

I came across your blog a few months ago when I was on KERF’s Web site–I think it was on KERF’s Web site. I started reading nutritional-related blogs a few months ago.

I do like your blog, because I can relate to you since you are a mom, and you blog about interesting topics.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 5:17 pm

Thanks Angel, I have such a place in my heart for moms now. I didn’t understand before. I get it now. :)

Stefanie June 1, 2011 at 5:11 pm

I’m not sure how I found your blog. I think I saw you post on another blog and browsed your recipes looking for dinner ideas.

Jessi June 1, 2011 at 5:13 pm

Hi Heather! I came across your blog via mamasweeds.com about 3 months ago. I was instantly hooked! I am a newbie runner that is also trying to foster a healthier, more active lifestyle not only for myself, but for my two little angels-my three year-old Matina, and my two-year old Dimitri. Good luck with your blog’s new direction!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 5:18 pm

Thanks Jessi and thanks for reading. Glad you found me. :)

erica June 1, 2011 at 5:15 pm

Sarah R June 1, 2011 at 5:18 pm

Wow, I’ve been reading for so long I don’t even remember! I’m guessing it was through someone else’s blog…

Julia June 1, 2011 at 5:25 pm

I can’t remember how I stumbled upon your blog, but I’m sure glad I did! It was the first blog I started reading, and was a huge trigger in my life for positive change. And it was you who made me addicted to nut butters (and seed butters.. yum!). For that, I say a huge THANK YOU! :)

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:59 pm

Julia,
Welcome. :)
Thanks for reading!

Val June 1, 2011 at 5:31 pm

I’m not really sure how I stumbled on your blog, maybe through tastespotting, but I’ve been loving it every since I’ve found it and made a few of your recipes!! I especially love your almond milk recipes (well actually your whole blog)

Kim June 1, 2011 at 5:34 pm

Hmm…that’s a toughie since I’ve been reading your blog for a while now! I think I probably discovered it through Caitlin at HTP?? Thanks!

Sarah June 1, 2011 at 5:45 pm

Can’t remember how I found your blog, nor do I think I’ll win any of these delights… however, I’m happy to have found you :)

BE WELL :)

Thanks Dot. Feeling is mutual. :)

alain June 1, 2011 at 6:36 pm

hi heather! thanks for holding this awesome giveaway. everything looks amazing, but i have to admit it’s the Sunbutter that makes my heart skip a beat. it’s been so long that i actually don’t remember how i stumbled onto your blog! I want to say it was googling oat bran recipes, which is my go to comfort food.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:58 pm

Alain,
Love that Sunbutter – it’s great on oat bran. :)

Julie June 1, 2011 at 6:38 pm

I think I found you’re link on the Kath Eats Real Food blogroll. Then added it to my daily blog list!

Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli June 1, 2011 at 6:52 pm

Sunbutter without added sugar?! Really? My next mission in life! ;)

How DID I find your blog? I remember Googling some kind of recipe and finding Allie’s blog and then I just started the never-ending cycle of clicking on commenters and finding new blogs, but yours, hers, and Janetha’s were the only ones I read for the longest time! I remember how flippin excited I was to see that you were a Nashville native! Love you Heather!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:57 pm

Love you too Heather! The organic Sunbutter is at Whole Foods, but it’s cheaper on Amazon.

Barbara June 1, 2011 at 6:55 pm

I believe I found your site googling “almond butter for weight loss” and I was likely trying to justify eating profound amounts of it for health. LOL

Would love to try that coffee!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:56 pm

Barbara,
Another person in the comments found me the same way. Almond butter lovin’ minds think alike, no?

karina June 1, 2011 at 7:02 pm

I dont remember how I came across it, but it was way before you ever got pregnant. My guess is from a comment you made on another blog. :)

Laura June 1, 2011 at 7:05 pm

I found you through Kath from KERF.

And by the way…I just came back from my semester abroad in London and you were right…best 4 months of my life.

I found it through meals and miles…so glad I did! :-)

Cate June 1, 2011 at 7:26 pm

I found your blog about a year ago looking up this strange new food product called “almond butter.” :D Little did I know that it’d addict me not only to AB but also to oat bran, sweet potatoes, stir-fries, and Baker’s unsweetened chocolate! HEAB has totally remade my pantry.

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:53 pm

Cate,
I love it. Thanks for reading! :)

Christin@purplebirdblog June 2, 2011 at 10:20 am

Rebecca June 1, 2011 at 7:49 pm

Hi! First of all…wow! Over 400 comments! I am new to the blogging world and am super-excited when I get 1 comment. LOL
Recently found your blog through Kiss My Broccoli! Both of you have gotten me back into eating (and craving!) bowls of overnight oats and oat bran. YUM!
I am also very curious about how you are introducing your daughter to foods. I felt innovative (compared to my circle of friends) because I made my children’s babyfoods by scratch (5 years ago!). But, this sounds great! Gotta add both of my kids loved my avocado/pear puree :)
Thanks for your posts!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 7:51 pm

Rebecca, I love Heather at Kiss My Broccoli, and I’m so happy to hear we’ve got you loving oats again. :) The Baby Led Weaning is going really well. So far so good. I’ll have to try mashing Summer’s next avocado with some pear. Haha, she wasn’t a fan of it all on its own. :(

Tami June 1, 2011 at 7:54 pm

I found you on someone’s blog roll! I can’t remember which one now!

Cherie June 1, 2011 at 8:01 pm

I can’t remember either, it’s been so long. But you were my first introduction into the blog world….so you’ll always have a special place in my heart! Thanks for all you do Heather!

HEAB June 1, 2011 at 8:03 pm

Thanks for being a long-time reader Cherie. It means a lot. :)

Aly June 1, 2011 at 8:03 pm

Barb June 1, 2011 at 8:22 pm

I stumbled across you when I was looking for healthy eating blogs as I was on a quest to change my eating habits and find healthier options. I purchased a vitamix this weekend and I’ve been super excited with making green smoothies!

Nana June 1, 2011 at 8:27 pm

I think I found you through either a search about almonds, almond butter or oat bran lol. i don’t remember. All that matters is that I’ve been a fan ever since!

McKayla @ Green Groats June 1, 2011 at 8:28 pm

I’m with you on the sunbutter. It’s my fav nut butter at the moment too!

I found your blog through other blogroll (and I’m so glad I did). With a name like “heather eats almond butter” I just had to click!

lara June 1, 2011 at 8:28 pm

LOLOLOLOLOLOL…. I wasn’t going to post because i can’t remember how I found you….then I look here and so many others have the same affliction!! I guess the only thing that counts is that we DID find you and are still here after all this time.
I love reading your blog everyday and I can’t believe Summer is already over 6 months old…seems like yesterday that you announced you were pregnant.
My only little one is going to graduate high school this Saturday..*sniff*…and reading about Summer brings back such great memories. Savor every moment because before you know it…pomp and circumstance!
BTW…more pics of her sweet face please…:)

MarathonVal June 1, 2011 at 8:40 pm

good lord almost 500 comments!!!! well, I came across your blog in August 2009 while doing some random google search for almond butter.. loved it (your blog and almond butter HA)… but somehow couldn’t find my bookmark (and this was before I knew about subscribing to blogs).. a few days later I was trying to find you again and couldn’t remember the name so I redid my almond butter search again and VOILA I found you again and have been a loyal reader ever since! I pretty much think you’re the bomb…. ;-)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:44 pm

Thanks Annie. Sounds like we were meant to be together. :)

Tara June 1, 2011 at 8:53 pm

I’ve been reading your blog for a couple years (think back to when you did a lot of cardio and ate dairy) and I have no clue how I happened upon it. Probably from another blog? I’m not sure, but I must have liked the blog because I’m still around!!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:43 pm

Tara,
Thanks for sticking with me. Sounds like we’ve been through a lot together. :)

Joanna June 1, 2011 at 8:55 pm

To be honest, I cannot remember how I first stumbled onto your blog. I think it must have been via a comment on Jezebel during a discussion about healthy living blogs. I found HEAB to be so charming and relatable that now it’s just a part of my day and seems like it always has been.

Dea June 1, 2011 at 8:55 pm

I’m not sure where I found your blog, just through me following links. It’s been forever though, I think I was still pregnant with Hudson. And now here I am, pregnant with #3!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:42 pm

Dea,
Oh my gosh!!!!! I didn’t know. CONGRATS. So so sooooo excited!!!! Can you tell? :)
Grinning from ear to ear right now. :)

Steph June 1, 2011 at 8:56 pm

Emily June 1, 2011 at 9:21 pm

I found you blog indirectly while I was searching the internet for a quick and healthy no-bake granola bar recipe. I adapted the recipe from fANNEtasticfood.com and while perusing Anne’s blog roll I came across your wonderful blog! You have given me so much inspiration and motivation for maintaining my new healthy lifestyle! Thank you!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:36 pm

Emily,
You are welcome. Thank you for reading! :)

Trisha June 1, 2011 at 9:32 pm

I came across your blog because of our mutual love for almond butter! I believe i was searching for recipes and your blog came up. I was so inspired by your story I decided to stick around. And i have loved it every since!

Heather June 1, 2011 at 9:37 pm

I found your blog while researching exercise addiction…I am on the road to kicking my cardio addiction and embracing whole and natural foods (not just low fat/low calorie). It is nice to know I am not alone in my struggles.
Thanks HEAB!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:35 pm

Heather,
You’re so not alone. You’re on a good path, and I’m cheering for you. :)

Heather June 1, 2011 at 10:03 pm

I remember finding a really good cookie recipe that included almond butter, but couldn’t find it in my favorites. Googling “food blog” + “almond butter” + “healthy” led me to you, and I’ve been hooked ever since :)

Persephone June 1, 2011 at 10:05 pm

Soooo, I have been lurking in the shadows for the past couple of years, reading but not commenting. I was trying to get pregnant at the time and had read the wonders of almonds when it came to fertility. The name of your blog popped up in a search and voila, I was hooked! Oh, and not sure if it was the almonds but I have a son a few months younger than Summer.

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:33 pm

Persephone,
Your comment gave me chills. Love hearing from other mamas. Congrats. They’re growing so fast, huh? Can’t believe Summer is 7 months old!

Amy June 1, 2011 at 10:12 pm

I found you through a link at Chocolate Covered Katie…and I found her site because of a link on Elana’s Pantry. I love your site…thanks for the great recipes and ideas!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:31 pm

Thanks for reading Amy. :)

Lisa June 1, 2011 at 10:13 pm

I can’t remember how I found you, as I’ve been reading your blogs for quite a while, but I’m guessing it was through Kath Eats’ blog.

Miava June 1, 2011 at 10:17 pm

I saw you first from the Edible Perspective. Then again from Peas and Thank You…. Now this blog is one of my favorites!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:31 pm

Thans Miava. Ashley and Mama Pea are actually two of my favorites. You have great taste when it comes to blogs. ;)

Kat June 1, 2011 at 10:37 pm

Ms. Lady…I believe I became addicted(?)….*err*….acquainted with you by googling Almond Butter, and well, ever since then you have your very own folder in my email account. Scary? Maybe. Helpful? I believe so. Delicious? You know so!! =)

ps. Trying out the detergent “recipe” tomorrow for…ugh…Laundry Thursday. Woo.

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:30 pm

Kat,
My own folder?!? Oh my gosh, I am so flattered and honored. :)

As far as the detergent goes, I’ve read some not so pleasant things about Borax lately, and I’m thinking of making my next batch without it. Just not sure the clothes will come at clean as it helps whiten and remove odors. We shall see.

Tess June 1, 2011 at 10:44 pm

I found your blog I think through Kath’s blog. I love your new header – it looks great. Hope we get to meet up soon in Nashville!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:26 pm

Tess,
Yes, I haven’t forgotten about you. I’m still hoping to meet up as well. Just email me. :)

Amber at Berlinswhimsy June 1, 2011 at 11:02 pm

Hmmm, I’m trying to remember how I came upon your blog. If I recall, I was reading another blog in which they mentioned HEAB in reference to yoga… Is that ambiguous enough for you??! Bad memory, I guess! Nonetheless, I have LOVED your blog ever since I found it! :-)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:24 pm

Thanks Amber. So glad you found me. :)

Nicole @ Of Cookies and Carrots June 1, 2011 at 11:04 pm

I honestly don’t even remember where I found you! I know i was just generally cruising the internet and healthy living blogs and stumbled upon yours… Am so glad I did, regardless of how it happened :)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:25 pm

Nicole,
I’m glad too. :)

Jenny @ Fitness Health and Food June 1, 2011 at 11:07 pm

Oh so nice of you Heather! :)

I think I came across your blog via Kath’s BlogRoll. Not positive though as it was a while ago! :)

O.C. June 1, 2011 at 11:13 pm

I’m new to the blogg world and i just found your blog today on Chocolate Covered Katie’s site :)
loveee the blog, I am for sure subscribing!

Yvonne S June 1, 2011 at 11:17 pm

Honestly, I can’t quite remember. I’m fairly certain it was through a mention on Lynne Chen’s blog The Actor’s Diet. I was hooked from the first post! By the way I made your Pimineto Cheese recipe and it was fabulous! The grated onion adds that special somethin’ somethin’. Thank you for sharing the recipe!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:23 pm

Yvonne,
Oh my gosh, isn’t it such a simple and delicious recipe?!? I’m so glad you tried and liked it. :)

Ellen June 1, 2011 at 11:20 pm

i think i found your blog after someone linked to you, but i can’t be sure. it’s been a couple years!

Michelle @ Turning Over a New Leaf June 1, 2011 at 11:22 pm

I first came across your blog from a no-longer-existing blog!

The Healthy Hipster June 1, 2011 at 11:29 pm

Hey Heather! I came across your blog on Angela’s blogroll and I remember clicking through because I was struck by the name. I loved that your title wasn’t about restricting, but about enjoying something you just genuinely LOVE! And…ya know…EATING! Almond butter! Such a simple thing but it was that positive non-restrictive good attitude that really drew me in and kept me reading :) .

robyn jones clark June 1, 2011 at 11:33 pm

whoa. 492 comments.. what the heck?? i guess all the readers are now chiming in? i reached your blog from a search for dun, dun, dun…… almond butter. sure am glad i found you though, cause you are a blessing to me :) you are the one blog, i read everyday. not sure if it’s the honesty, the food combos or cute little summer. all i know, is you inspire me and i’m glad that you share your life with all of us. i know it must be demanding and overwhelming at times. love you heather!

robyn jones clark June 1, 2011 at 11:38 pm

p.s. i hope you feel LOVED, because you should. I’ve been reading all the comments… You are a genuine person and it shines through everything you do. Blessings on You, Chris and Summer. God knew what he was doing when he knit you together.. he made you a very special person!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 10:12 am

RJC,
And you receive the Best Comment of the Day Award. Thank you!!! When are you coming to N’ville so we can meet in person? Mas Tacos, my treat. ;)

Maggie @ Say Yes to Salad June 1, 2011 at 11:40 pm

Ohh, I definitely want to win this!

I think I stumbled upon you from a post on KathEat’s blog… wow that was a long time ago. I’m thinking it might have had something to do with green oats but I honestly don’t remember anymore. I remember my green oats days, back in ’09. Crazy!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 10:10 am

Maggie,
Haha – yes, we were both on the green oats kick for far too long. I think you would love Miz’s workout cards. Short and butt kicking and a little yoga afterwards feels soooo good! Or skip the yoga, and just go straight for a big cup of coffee with a little chocolate. :)

s June 1, 2011 at 11:43 pm

i’m not sure anymore how i found your blog … except that i clicked over from a link on another blog.

Megan June 1, 2011 at 11:51 pm

I found you through The Edible Perspective. I love your blog and your new design :)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 10:09 am

Thanks Megan, and I love Ashley. I want to move into her new house! Love her style.

Katie M June 2, 2011 at 12:01 am

you are one of the first 3 blogs I started reading. I believe I found your blog on KERF’s site. Reading these keeps me motivated!

Sheena June 2, 2011 at 12:02 am

Hi!
I just recently found your blog when I was looking for a recipe for almond yogurt. Since then, I have grown to love the blog! So much fun… I look forward to it every day! Thanks for being so refreshingly you.

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 10:08 am

Sheena,
You’re welcome. Thanks for reading! :)

Heather June 2, 2011 at 12:24 am

Oh gosh! I’ve been reading your blog for so long that I don’t remember. Probably a link through another blog…. Though, you’re one of the few I’ve stuck with! I remember I was initially attracted by your beautiful name. ;)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 10:07 am

Heather,
Yes, us “Heathers” need to stick together Very important. :)

Lindsey June 2, 2011 at 12:38 am

I remember how I found you! I’m a teacher and on one of our many snow days last year (‘member all that snow we got in TN?!) I started searching about peanut butter. I found Maggie who used to do The Salad Girl and the blog-hopped on over to you! Now I read everyday. :)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 10:06 am

Lindsey,
Yes, the last few winters have been a little crazy here in TN. So glad you found me. I love Maggie, and she is blogging again.

Sarah June 2, 2011 at 12:50 am

Hi Heather!

I think I clicked over to your site from CCK’s site. I saw one of your food “concoctions” and it included copious amounts of mustard….than i clicked onto another page where you were eating my favorite unsweetened bakers chocolate, then I saw your proof of almond buttah loving…I WAS AN INSTANT GROUPIE! :)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 10:05 am

Sarah,
Sounds like we are kindred spirits. Thank you for reading. :)

Ali June 2, 2011 at 12:51 am

If I remember correctly, I came across your blog from a link from Katie- the chocolate covered variety, of course!

Ellie@fitforthesoul June 2, 2011 at 1:02 am

I guess I haven’t been here for a little while, but your site looks so different Heather! it looks great still :)

Hmmm I think I came upon your blog from Mama Pea’s site? oh yeah! I did! when you girls met together a few months ago. <33

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 10:04 am

Ellie,
Just got the new design last week – thank you. :)

Kristin @ STUFT Mama June 2, 2011 at 2:55 am

Hello!!!! I came across your site through KathEats. :) Love your site. And LOVE that you have a daughter that is around the same age as my boys. :) I have 1 1/2 year old twins and have just hopped on the healthy living blog train (since I have tons of free time and all-ha!).
Thansk for a great blog!

Rachel (tea and chocolate) June 2, 2011 at 3:05 am

Hm I’ve been reading so long, I’m not entirely sure how I’ve found your blog. My guess is that I was clicking through someone’s blog roll and came across your blog. I think that was around the time you were doing a yoga challenge for a month?

Marty June 2, 2011 at 3:22 am

Oh my, you want this brain to remember that? I know it was through someone elses food blog, perhaps Averies? I obviously was fascinated by someone losing weight eating almond butter! I still can’t believe the before/after pictures! Beautiful either way! Xo m

Andrea M June 2, 2011 at 4:07 am

I found your blog by searching ingredients…i first came across your blueberry crumb and then your protein ice cream – both I make often. They are still my favorites. I really appreciate your out-of-the-box recipes and think they are delicious (even when sometimes they look otherwise, but i totally don’t mind!) :)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 10:03 am

Andrea,
Thank you – not everyone appreciate my big bowls of pooh. ;)
Oh, and the blueberry crumb – totally forgot about that…and blueberry season will be here soon. Thanks for the reminder.

Bonnie June 2, 2011 at 4:38 am

Hi Heather!
I found your blog while reading Fitnessista. Clicked on a link and immediately loved it! Love reading about all the different things you try. I never would have known about socca unless I was a regular. Thank you!

Molly June 2, 2011 at 4:48 am

I found your blog through another, though I’m unsure which exactly! I think meals&miles??

Bid June 2, 2011 at 5:11 am

i think you had commented on someone elses blog.. Your photo popped up next to that comment (might have been the one with you sitting on the stairs outside with both pups) and i thought.. “well she looks nice and normal” so i went to your blog.. Little did i know!!! Honestly back then i thought you had really short hair too… Go back and look at that picture..

Anyway, i got here< and it was a good move on my part ;-)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 10:01 am

Bid,
I remember when we started emailing – I think it was about the oatgurt or when you guys decided to buy a Vita. Yes, little did we know. :)

Sara June 2, 2011 at 5:17 am

I think I found your blog through a comment you made on another blog. I can’t remember, I think I’ve been reading for over 2 years.

Carrie June 2, 2011 at 5:33 am

It must have been a link from somewhere – Foods of April or Love Veggies & Yoga, maybe?

Kelly @foodiefresh June 2, 2011 at 6:15 am

I have no idea how I came upon your blog, but I’m betting I first came to it via someone’s blog roll. I’m a big fan of sunbutter too but I usually buy the TJ’s brand. That stuff is good! And French roast coffee is my favorite! :)

Shay June 2, 2011 at 7:02 am

Once upon a time…I stumbled upon your blog when I googled recipes for almond butter. I tried your recipe, absolutely loved it, and have been addicted to both nut butters….and they lived happily ever after.

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 9:59 am

Shay,
Such a lovely fairy tale. :)

Tracey June 2, 2011 at 7:08 am

I started reading your blog because you are my go to girl for all things concerning health and nutrition. I can always find a tasty, healthy recipe here!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 9:18 am

Really? Thanks Tracey!

Kim @ girlevolving June 2, 2011 at 7:10 am

I can’t really remember how I first found your blog – I think through another blog where you were on their blogroll… but you quickly became a favorite!!

emily June 2, 2011 at 7:21 am

A long time ago, I did a search on how to make homemade almond butter. I never make almond butter anymore, but I still read your blog!

Alyson June 2, 2011 at 7:36 am

I found you while searching for Vitamix recipes online!

jennifer June 2, 2011 at 7:46 am

Hi Heather!
I’ve been enjoying your blog for so long! I found it somehow from my love of almond butter! I especially enjoyed your blogging about your trip last summer!
And who could resist that darling baby! Don’t be afraid to let your blog evolve with you! You are great!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 9:17 am

Nora, and I’m so thankful that you read it. :)

Shannon June 2, 2011 at 8:05 am

So I just thought long and hard about how I first came across your blog, and I do believe it was through The Hungry Yogini (wish she still blogged). I was drawn to you because of your love of FAT. I can definitely say that out of all the food blogs I’ve read (and I’ve read lots, and consequently stopped reading lots), your words stick with me the most. So, thank YOU!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 9:08 am

Shannon, and thank you for reading. I miss Courtney too!

Scarlett June 2, 2011 at 8:11 am

I found your blog from hyperlinks from other blogs. I saw it mentioned a few times, then decided to head over. I grew up near Nashville in a small town, so I love hearing about Nashville restaurants. Also, I love your life musings. :)

Stephanie June 2, 2011 at 8:12 am

I honestly do not remember how I found your blog… I am guessing it happened on one of my google searches for something almond butter. But I do tell many people (new mom’s in relation to your posts about breastfeeding) about your blog. Thanks for always sharing your recipes, life and stories. Much love to YOU!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 9:02 am

Stephanie,
Much love to you as well. Thanks for spreading the HEAB love. :)

Lexi June 2, 2011 at 8:14 am

Christina June 2, 2011 at 9:02 am

I started reading your blog a several months ago….. Yahoo had featured RonisWeigh in an article about bloggers who write about losing weight. I started reading her blog, then I believe through her blogroll I found you! Sure glad I did! ;o)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 9:57 am

Christina,
Me too! :)

Heather June 2, 2011 at 9:08 am

My goodness, you have alot of readers! I scrolled forever to get here. :)

I found you after you were mentioned on another blog, not sure which, but I’m pretty sure it was because of a recipe. What drew me in was your unusual food combinations. I find your creativity fascinating and it inspires me to try new things.

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 9:56 am

Heather,
Glad you found me. :)

Caroline June 2, 2011 at 9:14 am

I think I found your blog through another blog…either you commented or someone mentioned you in a post!

Mary June 2, 2011 at 9:25 am

Oh goodness, it’s been so long I don’t think I remember! It was probably a link from another blog, perhaps from Kath? Either way, I’ve been an avid reader ever since :)

Heather June 2, 2011 at 9:31 am

I came across your blog because of my boyfriend! He found your website (how, I’m not quite sure lol), and thought it was ironic because I, too, am a Heather, and I, too, am obsessed with nut and seed butters! I added your blog to my google reader and have been reading it ever since :)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 9:54 am

Heather,
Love it. :)

Nicole June 2, 2011 at 9:47 am

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 9:55 am

Thanks Nicole. :)

Emily June 2, 2011 at 9:49 am

I came across your blog google-ing avocado recipes! Your avocado pancakes were so intruguing I had to try them right away!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 9:53 am

Emily,
Did you like them? :)

Emily June 2, 2011 at 10:06 am

I loved them! They’ve been a staple in my house since, gotta love healthy fats.
I was recently in Monterey, CA and I found a stand selling a dozen avocados for one dollar. I whipped up the biggest batch of pancakes for a Memorial Day breakfast–no one could believe they were made of avocados!

marie June 2, 2011 at 11:19 am

12 avos for $1?!?! You’re killin’ me!!! I’m turning (avocado!) green with envy!!

;-)

Tricia June 2, 2011 at 9:58 am

I came across your blog while reading another blog, Chocolate Covered Katie. I have only tried a few things from your blog but you have given me so many good ideas. (plus I love Almond butter)

Liz June 2, 2011 at 9:59 am

I *think* I found your blog on the blog roll for one of the blogs I read. I think it was from the blogroll on KathEats, but it may have been from Oh She Glows, I can’t remember, but love your blog and your apprach to life and am glad I found it!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 2:02 pm

Liz,
Me too! :)

Lisa June 2, 2011 at 10:52 am

Hi Heather,

Have you ever tried Sun Cups? Or better yet made your own?

http://www.peanutfreeplanet.com/Sun_Cups_by_Seth_Ellis_Dark_Chocolate_p/suncupsdarkchocbysethellis.htm

I haven’t tried them yet, but they sound good!

Lisa

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 2:01 pm

Lisa,
Oh my! No, I haven’t tried them, but it would be super easy to make them. Thanks for the idea! :)

Hayley June 2, 2011 at 10:58 am

I think I first found you through Kath Eats many years ago

marie June 2, 2011 at 11:17 am

I’ve been reading your blog for some time but am pretty sure I found it by way of another blog–maybe another Heather? Heather Bakes? Hangry Pants?

Sorry, the ole memory is fuzzy, but I’m really grateful to whoever sent me your way!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 2:00 pm

Marie,
No worries. There are a lot of us “Heather” bloggers out there. Just glad you found me. :)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:55 pm

Sarah,
Aw, I love Meghann. Thanks for reading. :)

Randi June 2, 2011 at 11:23 am

I found your blog through the Fitnessista’s blog I think? And then when you announced you were pregnant with Summer – just 2 weeks ahead of when my little man Gus was due, I started following you religiously! :) I had to know what to expect beforehand! :)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:54 pm

Randi,
Ahh, can you believe how fast our little ones are growing?!? 7 months already??? Crazy. So glad you found me and thanks for reading. Hugs to you and Gus. :)

Kaleigh June 2, 2011 at 11:30 am

I know I found it scrolling through somebody else’s blog (I don’t exactly remember which one…) and I remember thinking, what a wonderfully clever name! I must check this one out :)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:53 pm

Kaleigh,
Several others told me the same thing – it was the name that drew them in, and I don’t even really remember how I decided on Heather Eats Almond Butter. Glad I did! Thanks for reading. :)

Gina M. June 2, 2011 at 11:32 am

Honestly, I can’t remember how I found your blog. I think it was through a link on another blog but, I can’t remember which one. Either way, I’m glad I found it. :)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:51 pm

Gina M, me too! :)

Cellabella June 2, 2011 at 11:48 am

I also found you on a blogroll or a recipe link from another blog – Carrotsncake, KERF, or HTP perhaps? I “met” you when you just found out you were having a baby!

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 2:06 pm

Cellabella,
Summer turns 7 months old this week. I can’t believe it. Feels like just yesterday that I found out I was having a baby. Crazy, huh? Thanks so much for reading. :)

Heather June 2, 2011 at 11:54 am

I came across HEAB searching for a recipe or ingredienty, & I was hooked. :)

Marilu June 2, 2011 at 12:01 pm

I found your blog from fitnessista’s blog roll about 4 months ago when I started on my quest to eat healthier. I have been overweight since the age of like 9 and I finally decided I needed to do something about it and gave myself a goal of losing weight by my 25th birthday. I dieted and met my goal, but then I decided I wanted to eat healthy and lose more weight based on a lifestyle not just a quick diet and that is when I turned to the blog world. Reading your story has been very motivating and has helped me to keep on moving forward in my quest to change my lifestyle. I enjoy your blog so much because you are honest and real. Thank you for being you and allowing me to learn from you and your family! :)

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 1:51 pm

Marilu,
Oh wow, what a sweet comment. Thanks for the support and for reading. Sounds like you are doing really well, and that makes me happy. :)

Sarah June 2, 2011 at 12:01 pm

I Googled “delicious oat bran”. <3

Missy,
I am in love with those training cards. They are so great, and I am soooo sore! ;)

Dana June 2, 2011 at 2:14 pm

A girlfriend of mine at work loved to eat almond butter and said it was healthier than peanut butter. So I googled almond butter and “Heather Eats Almond Butter” was the 5th or 6th link. I clicked it, and spent the next hour reading every post on your blog from the beginning. I loved your personal story and your crazy combinations of food that I would have never thought of, but fell in love with. Thanks to you Beaver’s Sweet Hot mustard is always in my fridge, I think of you every time I walk past the Whole Food Hot Food Bar, and I check your blog every time I sit down at my computer.

HEAB June 2, 2011 at 2:24 pm

Dana,
Wow – thank you so much. You make me feel so loved, and I feel like we’re old friends. How about I stop by later – I’ll bring some hot bar goodies. You better get the Beaver’s ready. ;)
No, but seriously thank you for the support and for your kind words and for reading my blog.

elizabeth June 2, 2011 at 2:23 pm

i stumbled upon it one day after googling almond butter recipes. my friend reilly brought me some as a housewarming gift and it changed my life! (in a completely good way) i absolutely love reading about the adventures of you, CD and Summer in one of my favorite cities in the world.

Coco June 2, 2011 at 2:34 pm

Karen Horne June 2, 2011 at 2:36 pm

I just found your blog today via My Gym Trainer on FB. I too have the MTF cards and absolutely love them! I’m always looking for new and creative ways to eat healthier but not loose taste! I’m looking forward to reading your blog!

Marie June 2, 2011 at 2:43 pm

It was a while ago, so I don’t totally remember, but it was through another blogger who linked to you. Ahh!- sorry it’s so vague:)

Laura June 2, 2011 at 3:03 pm

I found your blog while searching for some food blogs to follow on google reader. I was hooked on the first post I saw.

ali June 2, 2011 at 3:52 pm

So I signed up and I’m so glad. I hope I win!

Hi Heather,

I have a friend who eats peanut butter with anything at her desk at work. She is getting me into triathlons and with it nut butters. I google searched how to make your own and your blog popped up! And what a lovely blog at that! I have subscribed to your RSS feed and can’t wait to go through your blog completely this weekend. Thanks!

I’ve been trying to remember how I found your blog. I think I saw it mentioned on Yoga is Yummy and decided to check it out. I love it and have been reading it for quite a while though I have never commented before!

Corey June 2, 2011 at 5:14 pm

I probably found your site through Polly or through some other health geared blog…

Jennifer June 2, 2011 at 5:36 pm

I found your blog via another blog’s blogroll……I figure if she likes you, maybe I will too:)

Mandy June 2, 2011 at 5:42 pm

I think I found you through a guest post at Gena’s blog Choosing Raw… about listening to your body. It made me stop and think when I was going through a very difficult time… I still struggle with some things, but a lot has changed since then… your words still resonate with me.

Glad that you’re here to share wisdom and wit, m’dear!

Anita June 2, 2011 at 5:42 pm

I was reading a few food blogs, I thought yours had a catchy name. I liked the before and after pictures and the HEAB food philosophy. I came to think of oats in a whole new way and for this, I’m very grateful.

Kathryn June 2, 2011 at 6:29 pm

I found you while trying to figure out how to make almond butter! Seems fitting, eh?

Elizabeth June 2, 2011 at 6:44 pm

I don’t remember how I found your blog! But I love it because you’re so relatable! I’m a mom myself and I love (and empathize) with your days with Summer!

greenbean June 2, 2011 at 7:16 pm

hmmm, probably through Kath’s blog. xoxo

Haley N June 2, 2011 at 7:43 pm

I came upon your blog when I was new to the almond butter world. I typed “how to use almond butter” into google and bam! There was your blog :)

Alisa Fleming June 2, 2011 at 7:43 pm

Okay, the cleaner weiner put me over the top – I HAD to enter now. The only reason I didn’t enter before is I totally don’t remember how I found your blog. I’ve been following you for years!!

EmilyK June 2, 2011 at 8:15 pm

I have NO idea how I found your blog! But I love it! I just started a blog about my quest for happiness through the the little things in life

Emily W June 2, 2011 at 8:22 pm

lindsey June 2, 2011 at 9:07 pm

peonyjen June 2, 2011 at 10:04 pm

Huh, I do not remember how the heck I came upon your journal, but I do remember that it was two summers ago. I fell in love and haven’t looked back since! hahahahaha
You had me at almond butter, and thank you SO much for introducing me to kabocha squash. For that, I am eternally grateful.

Salah (My Healthiest Lifestyle) June 2, 2011 at 10:41 pm

I found your blog through my sisters at heathersdish.com! Love it!

Shirley June 3, 2011 at 8:48 am

You know, it’s kind of funny, but I don’t remember how I stumbled upon your blog (except that it wasn’t through “Stumble Upon”). It was a few years ago when I somehow discovered food blogs and though the food and recipe ideas I found were great, I was all about the fantastic photography of some of those blogs! I probably found yours through someone’s blogroll…

Megan June 3, 2011 at 9:54 am

I found your blog on another blog…loved, loved, loved the title because Megan (that’s me) eats (and loves) almond butter too :) You’re at the top of my favorites!

Gwen June 3, 2011 at 10:11 am

It’s been a couple of years, but I’m pretty sure that I found your blog through myyearwithoutsugar.blogspot.com. I went through a period where I read a crazy amount of healthy eating blogs. But when the dust settled, HEAB became one of a handful that I read faithfully every single day. Thanks for the fun food combos, humor, fabulous photography, inspiration and encouragement!

Jen June 3, 2011 at 10:17 am

I found your blog through other food bloggers, but it was a while ago and I can’t remember which one! Love it, and Summer is soo cute!

Erika bryant June 3, 2011 at 12:29 pm

I love apple gate hotdogs. I have stopped eating other hotdogs. I have found out that they make me feel gross and there is one that has no nitrates but is loaded with crazy amounts of fat. Not that some fat is good. These hotdogs are lower in fat and my kids think they are getting by with something bad for them.

Jen June 3, 2011 at 1:39 pm

I found your blog from another person’s blog, but I don’t remember whose!

Laura June 3, 2011 at 7:28 pm

I found you a few weeks ago while searching for how to make my own nut butter. I’ve been addicted to your site ever since, reading tons of old entries & enjoying every one!

Katie June 4, 2011 at 12:15 am

Like many before me, and surely some after me, I found you through Kath :)

Kimberly June 4, 2011 at 6:57 am

You were honestly one of the first food blogs I started reading. I live in Nashville too so I love hearing your reviews of local spots…and then Summer was born on my birthday. Now I’m double hooked!

Vanilla Swirl June 4, 2011 at 1:46 pm

Aaah it took me a while to remember! It was from a link for your oatmeal pumpkin pancakes recipe!!
Which I never made because I got distracted by all the other wonderful recipes, lol.

Svitlana June 4, 2011 at 2:33 pm

I’ve been reading your blog for a long time and can’t remember how I found it. I came across healthy living blogs 3 years ago and yours was one of the blogs I read regularly.

Erin June 4, 2011 at 4:18 pm

I found it through seeing it on many, many other blog’s blogrolls! :)

JW June 4, 2011 at 6:28 pm

Hey Heather! I was actually doing a search on “almond butter” and came across your blog…I don’t live in the US and it’s actually quite hard to find almond butter over here! You’ve also inspired many other tasty eats which I am so grateful for :)

Beth June 7, 2011 at 10:31 am

I think I was searching for almond butter recipes and your blog came up…I was hooked from the beginning!

Mandiee June 7, 2011 at 11:23 am

I think I originally found your blog through CCK. I immediately was inspired by your love of almond butter and kabocha. Now those are two of my favorite foods! And as for yoga, I love your philosophy. It’s really great to meet someone who views yoga similar to how I do in the runner-heavy blog world.

Amy Tolbert June 7, 2011 at 12:08 pm

I found your blog while reading another blog :)

Michelle June 7, 2011 at 12:28 pm

I found your blog through Chocolate Covered Katie!

lisampls June 7, 2011 at 1:14 pm

i’m pretty sure i came upon your blog through Kath Eats? and YOUR blog was how i came upon sweet Polly @ YogaIsYummy. what a happy chain reaction the blog world can be! chatting with my sister one afternoon we both were talking about our current interest in coconut butter, which is how we learned that we both were reading your blog without knowing the other was a reader! so fun.

melissa June 7, 2011 at 2:29 pm

I came upon your blog about a year and a half ago. I was on Polly’s Blog –yogaisyummy and saw that you were linked at the time and came to yours! Since then I have been a constant blog reader! I have also unofficially met you! I ran the Music City Half in 2009 and your super fast DH won, He was running and (no one else was around on foot) then you blew past us on a bike…me and the girlie I was running with looked at each other and said “was that just a BIKE in the race???) then a few days later you posted that he had one and you rode…sorry it if was too stalker-esque! But yea so I have been following for a while…now a oat bran convert too!!!

Lilly June 7, 2011 at 5:17 pm

I think I found you through KERF or CCK, but either way I am so glad I did. Your blog is very unique and real which I love! Your posts always inspire me and brighten my day, thanks for being you and sharing what you do :)

HilaryJo June 7, 2011 at 6:07 pm

Haha…well, I was looking up on the internet “how much almond butter is too much?” or some such thing (as I consume probably 1/3-1/2 cup of nut butter/day…I think it may be excessive) While I didnt get an exact amount answer, I DID appreciate what you had to say, and felt like it was wayyy better than just a amount answer, and I do enjoy your blog!

Amanda June 7, 2011 at 6:19 pm

Hmmm… I know I found you through another blog but I don’t know which one. Could have been Kath I guess or maybe a yoga-centered blog i used to read… not sure! So glad I’m still here with you after all these years ; )

Elaine June 7, 2011 at 7:28 pm

Great blog, and I love your philosophy about eating! I read Fitnessista’s Blog and she referred to one of your recipes. Thanks!

emilie June 7, 2011 at 7:33 pm

lena June 7, 2011 at 9:14 pm

i Chanced upon your blog when i was looking for healthy motivation and your blog interested me for your blog did not advocate running or extremes, just lots of walking and yoga, and healthy balanced life!.. which was what i was looking for, i’m so not a runner and i needed to know it was ok not to have to run to keep fit! :) thank you for that! :)
the first time i chanced upon your blog, you had a picture of you enjoying your morning cup of coffee, it was such calm and serenity and i have been enjoying reading your blog ever since! lol!
that said, i know i’m not entitled to the giveaway as i’m far away but just thought i’d put it down in any case! :)

Caroline Calcote June 7, 2011 at 10:11 pm

I found your blog through a Google Reader suggestion. Maybe I read too many weight loss and healthy living blogs? Google Reader knows what I like :)

Bonnie June 7, 2011 at 10:29 pm

Wow – what an incredible giveaway, Heather! I think your blog was actually one of the first healthy living blogs I found…and I wish I could remember exactly how I stumbled upon it! Either way, it’s helped me open up and start my own several months ago…I pop in and out and always find your posts honest, genuine, and full of good insights and info (whether for recipes or life or fitness). Thanks for doing what you’re doing!

Ellie June 7, 2011 at 10:33 pm
