Here is where you can click to vote for my pumpkin in the Love Grown Foods Love-O-Lantern Contest. The winner will receive a Target gift card. I love Target, and CD would love if you would vote for my pumpkin. He cringes whenever I mention the “T” word. To vote, please click on the photo of my pumpkin and “Like” it. Voting ends Sunday at midnight.

THANK-YOU!

P.S. To make the pumpkin, I first carved out the heart shapes. I then painted layers of colored tissue paper over the holes with a 1/2 glue, 1/2 water mixture and then outlined each heart with acrylic paint. Oh, and to keep your jack-o-lanterns looking fresh, try this tip from Rachel.

Your pumpkin is SO creative! I would have never thought about the tissue paper. It looks so pretty all lit up! You’ve got my vote :)

(P.S. As I can attest, the silica packet definitely work wonders!)

Thanks Rachel – for the vote and for the tip. Will never throw my silica packets away again!

Voted!
Your pumpkin is GORGEOUS!
I, to, have a great love of Target. And I, too, tend to overdo it whenever I go in.
Good luck!

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:37 pm

Thanks Alyssa, and yes, overdoing it at Target. I can NEVER go in there for just one thing. Honestly, I think it’s impossible.

Samantha October 28, 2011 at 6:49 pm

Voted for you! I too love Target but their shipping here is outrageous and very slow…two thumbs down from this military family.

Your white and heart adorned pumpkin is so happy!

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:36 pm

Thanks Sam, and sorry about the shipping charges. Would be hard for me to be so far away from Target…but at least you have iHerb, right?

Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) October 28, 2011 at 6:52 pm

I love this idea! Too cute! You know I voted for you!

Kelly @ Foodie Fiasco October 28, 2011 at 6:59 pm

That pumpkin is stunning! How come my pumpkins never look that good? i would say that it desevres a medal, but I guess a T word gift card will have to do. Good luck with the competition!

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:35 pm

Thanks Kelly! :)

STUFT Mama October 28, 2011 at 7:16 pm

Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga October 28, 2011 at 8:14 pm

Your lantern is adorable! I hope you win. I never got around to making my lantern…whoops!!

But I have been Pinning things like it’s my second job. Does that count? :)

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:34 pm

Averie,
Yes, totally counts. You know I love me some Pinterest!

TeenyLittleSuperChef October 28, 2011 at 8:57 pm

These are freakin adorable. Almost as cute as little Miss Summer (haha not even close). What is she going as for Halloweeen this year? Can’t wait to see. You will post pics, right?

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:33 pm

TeenyLSC,
Summer is dressing up as a Jack-O-Lantern this year. We carved her pumpkin today, inspired by her costume. :)

Sarah October 28, 2011 at 10:20 pm

VOTED….mostly because I understand the whole target problem…it is literally my most guilty (and dangerous and ENJOYABLE) pleasure…after peanut butter of course :)

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:31 pm

Sarah,
A girl after my own heart you are. Thanks for the vote. :)

Hannah October 28, 2011 at 10:44 pm

Okay, cutest thing I’ve seen all day. Thanks for the smile, Heather :)

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:31 pm

Anytime Hannah. :)

Meagan October 28, 2011 at 10:48 pm

I am glad to hear from you more regularly! I trust Summer is still doing fantastic?

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:31 pm

Meagan,
Yes, she is. Always. Love that little babe.

Jen@FoodFamilyFitness October 29, 2011 at 5:23 am

Look at you all creative!!! I love it! My pumpkins always come out looking like deranged jack’o lanterns.

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:30 pm

Jen,
Trust me, I’ve had a lot of those in my past. Painting is easier than carving!

Jen October 29, 2011 at 9:51 am

That pumpkin is a great depiction of you and your personality. Warm, creative and natural. I will vote!

(P.S How old is Summer now anyways?)

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:30 pm

Jen,
Summer turns 1 a week from today. Can you believe it?!?
P.S. Thanks for voting. :)

liz dean October 29, 2011 at 11:00 am

That is such a great idea!!!!! Gabby and I are totally getting an all white pumpkin next year and doing this!

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:29 pm

Liz,
Do it. So many possibilities with a white pumpkin. Paint them, carve them, place in some fishnet hose and cover in fake plastic spiders. Love white pumpkins!

Alex @ Spoonful of Sugar Free October 29, 2011 at 11:36 am

HOW ADORABLE!!! That is so creative :D it is like a stained-glass pumpkin-how fun :D

HEAB October 29, 2011 at 8:23 pm

Alex,
Yes, like stained glass. Love stained glass windows – so beautiful.
