Because I’m sure none of you have encountered anything heart or loved-themed today…
So how about some True Love Grits?
Or perhaps some sourdough waffles instead?
I have a heart-shaped waffle maker (Thanks again Tiffany!), and so breakfast on Valentine’s Day is a no brainer. Eden sent me the waffle recipe. It’s her favorite, which says a lot since she eats everything. 🙂 I made it using my sourdough starter, but instead of all purpose flour subbed 1/2 brown rice flour, 1/2 gluten free all purpose flour so that the HEABlet could partake. (We haven’t introduced wheat into her diet yet). Anyway, the waffles were delicious, but the texture was a bit off. Need to refine this one a bit. However, butter and maple syrup cover all wrongs, no? Oh, and you must try Eden’s recommended apple cider syrup. I simply added 1 tsp apple cider vinegar to about a TBSP of maple syrup. It paired really well with the sourdough flavor. Good call Eden! Dessert was a Dove dark chocolate. Kind of obsessed with those little squares these days.
Happy ♥ Day!
P.S. Thanks to everyone who voted for my Love Letter on Facebook yesterday!
