“Is She Turning Two?”, Piglet Asked Pooh

by HEAB on November 5, 2012

Hello my almond butter loving friends. If you're new to HEAB, you may like to subscribe to my RSS feed or receive my posts via email. Thanks for reading!

She turned two today, and we celebrated deep in the Hundred Acre Wood…

After last year’s Hungry Caterpillar extravaganza, we decided to keep things simple with a small Winnie-the-Pooh party.  So, our families and a couple of friends joined us for the festivities.  It was perfect.

Hunny pot party favors: Each guest received a pot with a muslin bag stuffed with honey sticks, Burt’s Bees honey lip balm, and Justin’s honey almond butter (It was actually maple almond butter since the shipment of honey packets I ordered didn’t arrive in time.  Close enough, right?)

I made these sour cream yellow cupcakes with Pamela’s gluten free baking mix and added chocolate chips.  Half received a dusting of dark chocolate and powdered sugar, and I topped the rest with this cream cheese frosting.

Before cupcakes we snacked on chips + guac, goat cheese & cream cheese dips, and a bowl of PBee & Chocolate Trail Mix (Honeycomb cereal + Reese’s Pieces + cocoa almonds).

Happy Birthday to our baby girl.  We love you!

Happy Birthday beautiful Summer!! Misty sends many snuggles.

Can’t believe it’s been (almost, for Misty) 2 years!! Time just flies, huh?

What a gorgeous party, Heather, where did you find the time (and energy!) to do all this!? Super Mama!

Lou,
I know! Happy (early) Birthday to Misty! Isn’t this age so fun? Summer’s vocabulary is exploding, and she makes us laugh all the time. LOVE this stage.

I started early on her party – made the party favors a couple of weeks ago and since we only invited family and a couple of friends, set up was easy. It was such a fun night.

Reply

HEAB November 11, 2012 at 9:34 pm

Thanks Alisa. I drew the picture the night before Summer’s birthday. It was late, and I googled Pooh images on my phone. Too lazy to draw it first with a pencil, and just went for the black crayon. Glad it turned out okay, and I loved Summer’s added touch – I always thought Pooh needed a little purple in his life.

Jules November 6, 2012 at 9:11 pm

Happy birthday, Summer! I love Winnie-the-Pooh. He was the theme of my room when I was little :) I was never a fan of the Disney Pooh…the A.A. Milne, original Pooh is just so much better. My mom used to say I was Roo, and my sister was Rabbit. Lol!

Reply

HEAB November 11, 2012 at 9:35 pm

Jules, thank you, and I agree. Loved A.A. Milne’s version. Such a classic. :)
