Cook 1/2 cup oat bran with 1 cup of water on stove-top for 1-2 minutes:
Pot O’ Goodness
Stir in 2 TBSP of chia seeds, 1 scoop (30 grams) of your favorite protein powder (I used Jay Robb’s rice protein powder), and 1 cup hot water.
Eat right away, or if you prefer thicker oats like me, allow the chia seeds to go to work for 15-30 minutes. You can reheat if you want, but I never do.
Look how thick!
The stats for this bowl, including 1 TBSP of almond butter (just to show you how much goodness it contains): 441 calories, 22.5 grams of fat (37%), 56.4 grams of carbs (37%), 48.9 grams of protein (32%), 21.6 grams of fiber, 71% of your daily iron, & 30% of your daily calcium. The perfect breakfast in my mind…and in my belly. So very filling!

Hi Heather..
I was thinking – yes I think of this stuff on my own time that is how crazy I am
– and the calorie count did not add up for me. Correct me if I am wrong..
1/2 c oat bran 240 calorie (I normally use 1/3 or 1/4)
2 tbsp chia seeds – not sure but I would think around 80-90??
1 scoop J R protein pwder 110 calorie
1tbsp almond butter 100 alorie..
Regardless of the chia.. it comes to 540 ?? No?

Heab, I finally made this today. I’ve been meaning to buy chia seeds and always forgot. It came out delicious! I too love my oats so thick you have to basically chew them. I left out the protein and added a banana and a splash of hemp milk, and cinnamon. Soo good! I’m about to go blend my groats that were soaking overnight for oatgurt… your contagious! love it
Felicia, Arent’ chia seeds amazing? Love them, and I really hope your oatgurt turns out okay. Please keep me posted. If you get it right, it’s delicious, and if you don’t…well, we won’t even think about that.
Love, Heather
