Vita-Mix Giveaway

Last month, Vita-Mix announced Pitch Me, a national video competition in search of their next TV demonstration star. The public will choose the winner, and the grand prize is $10,000 along with the possibility of starring in upcoming Vita-Mix television commercials and web-based videos.

So, for a chance to win your very own Vita-Mix 5200 blender, please leave a comment below telling me what you would film yourself making in your new blender for the Pitch Me Contest. I will leave the comments open through this Sunday, December 13th at midnight and announce the winner on Monday, December 14. So sorry to all of my international readers, but the giveaway is open to U.S. residents only. Please help spread the word as I’d love to give everyone a chance to win some Vita love. :)

For those of you that already own a Vita-Mix, are you going to enter the Pitch Me Contest? I’m totally thinking of filming a Protein Ice-Cream demo for my entry. The world needs to know about this recipe, no? :)

Can’t wait to hear your Vita-Mix recipes!

Would have to be a frozen banana inspired ice cream concoction!

Lina December 8, 2009 at 7:28 am

It would totally have to be a video on how to make a raw chocolate cheesecake, that beast probably grinds up the nuts in no time.

Cali December 8, 2009 at 7:32 am

I would make my own almond milk – I’ve always wanted to!

blissfulbellas December 8, 2009 at 7:40 am

OMG heather this is amazing! We need a vitamix so badly…we’ve been making everything in a blender by pulsing, stopping scraping, then pulsing…making a minute job into a 30 minute ordeal! We would definitely use the vitamix to make our raw desserts like raw pumpkin cheesecake or green monsters in the morning or delicious warm soup to prepare for the summer like butternut squash :D Hahah i cant choose, all i know is that it’ll get a ton of use!

Ally P December 8, 2009 at 7:40 am

Woah I’d love a vita-mix. I like to blend my soups :)

Lauren (Runandrejoice) December 8, 2009 at 7:42 am

OH MY GOSH! You have no idea how much I want this! Do you know how many spatulas, wooden spoons, knives, etc. I have ruined by trying to scrape down the sides of my Wal Mart blender while still running?! I WANT A VITA-MIX PUHLEASEEEEEEEE!

Kristin December 8, 2009 at 7:44 am

I think I would die if I won a vita-mix! I so want one, but I just bought a house to money is tight! I would love to make protein ice cream.

hypki December 8, 2009 at 7:50 am

Wow, I think I would scream and then pee my pants if I won the Vitamix!! For the video I would have to make some kind of nut butter, maybe a dark chocolate, almond, Kahlua concoction! mmmmmm
Thanks so much for this giveaway!! I have enjoyed reading your blog so much, you always give me something to think about!

jenn hall December 8, 2009 at 7:51 am

must. have. vitamix :-)
please please please please…

Melanie December 8, 2009 at 7:52 am

What a great giveaway!! I’ve been trying to figure how to purchase a Vita-Mix for awhile now but just don’t have the money for it. My boyfriend and I are on a quest for better health and I am positive the Vita-Mix would help immensely! We saw a very cool demonstration at Costco recently and was so impressed that it also can make soups!

I think I would love to demonstrate that the Vita-Mix can also make a yummy hot soup to keep you warm during these cold winter months!! Maybe a butternut squash and apple soup! That would be perfect!! With some pumpkin seeds sprinkled on top afterwards :-)

Thanks Heather!!

cookingforaveganlover December 8, 2009 at 7:56 am

i would love to win this!

Jessica @ How Sweet It Is December 8, 2009 at 7:56 am

Some delicious protein shakes! I love chocolate coconut the best!!

Erica December 8, 2009 at 7:57 am

Oh my gosh I need this so bad! I want to use it to make cashew cream! My magic bullet works OK to make the cream but it doesn’t make it fluffy enough to use it as a whipped cream sub (only as a sub for cream in soups and such). Plus I really want the autographed picture of CD…thats clearly the REAL prize haha

dailygoods December 8, 2009 at 7:58 am

Wow heather! Way to end your week with a bang! Amazing giveaway :)
You are a constant inspiration to so many and someday I hope to have the chance to meet you! :) We could do yoga all day and eat kabocha. My kind of day! Thanks again for inspiring so many to look within themselves to find happiness. you are amazing! xoxo

Emily December 8, 2009 at 7:59 am

I’d make any sort of “post-workout” smoothie. The protein shakes in stores are just too expensive! I’d soooo love to win this! Thanks for the giveaway!

Cristen December 8, 2009 at 7:59 am

A Vita-Mix? Seriously? That is probably the BEST giveaway I’ve seen ever. Who wouldn’t love to win this one? I’ve been wanting a Vita-Mix for a very long time. Every blender that I’ve had breaks. So maybe this one would be one that wouldn’t??

joy December 8, 2009 at 8:00 am

Oooh I am coveting this one – I wanna make hummus!

katherine December 8, 2009 at 8:00 am

I would make 5000 different soups and smoothies galore!

Sarah S December 8, 2009 at 8:00 am

considering there are brown splatters on the kitchen ceiling from chocolate smoothies i’ve made in the past, I would probably film myself making any regular old smoothie (choc protein powder + frozen banana + almond milk and whatever else I can throw in the mix) and the MESS that always ensues when I do….. I can never seem to do things in a calm, clean way. gotta make it fun and messy, right!?

Laura S December 8, 2009 at 8:00 am

OMG Such an Awesome giveaway! I would love to try your protein ice cream!

Kristen December 8, 2009 at 8:01 am

It would be SO PERFECT for blending soup!! :D :D

Susan December 8, 2009 at 8:02 am

omg omg omg!! i’ve wanted this fooorrreeevvver! i hope i win! :)

Carmen D. December 8, 2009 at 8:02 am

Banana Ice Cream! I tried making it in my garage-sale blender and it bounced around so much it fell of the counter and broke. :( I guess you pay for what you get……unless its free!

MariamK December 8, 2009 at 8:04 am

oh my goodness!! i want a blender SOOO bad but i can’t get the nerve to ask for one :/ its top of my wishlist this year !

Metta December 8, 2009 at 8:04 am

How exciting! There are so many things I would like to make, like ice cream and nut butters. But I think the first thing I would do is make a green smoothie that requires ice cubes and kale. My blender doesn’t exactly “blend” those ingredients very well, and a chunky/chewy green smoothie just isn’t tasty.

Anna December 8, 2009 at 8:05 am

I would definitely make some killer smoothies and dairy-free ice cream. I don’t even have a blender right now so this would be absolutely life changing!

Katy December 8, 2009 at 8:05 am

Oooh, I’d definitely tackle the nut butters and nut milks that my current blender can’t handle. I HOPE I WIN!

Danielle December 8, 2009 at 8:05 am

I’ve been dyingggg for one of these! I would film myself making nut butter! Or hummus…or smoothies…ice cream…

Betsy December 8, 2009 at 8:06 am

I’m getting married next weekend and this would be a wonderful wedding present! :) I would make nut butters… deliciously flavored & unique nut butters!

Bree December 8, 2009 at 8:07 am

Amazing giveaway! I would blend up a soup (since it’s currently snowing)…

JessicaR December 8, 2009 at 8:07 am

A mixed, fruity, slushie drink. That makes everyone happy, right?! :)

Shannon December 8, 2009 at 8:07 am

oh vitamix, how I would love thee :) I’m pretty sure if I won the vitamix would get some smoothie making, nut butter loving every day!

Alexis December 8, 2009 at 8:08 am

Wow, that is truly an incredible giveaway. I have been dreaming about a Vita-Mix for so long. Protein ice cream would definitely be my first use! Also, a ton of the recipes from Gena at Choosing Raw – all her soups, sauces, desserts. This would change my life.

Kim December 8, 2009 at 8:08 am

Everyone seems to love the vitamix – I would love to experience one for smoothies – especially big green ones!!

LIsa Carroll December 8, 2009 at 8:08 am

I would make a super yummy green smoothie!

Elise December 8, 2009 at 8:09 am

I would make soup!

Jenny December 8, 2009 at 8:09 am

hot damn I would give my first born child for a vitamix.. especially so I can recreate all the HEABalicious recipes ;) I would film myself making some nut butters, naturally :)

Ozlen December 8, 2009 at 8:10 am

I have been wanting a vitamix for waaayyy long too. I just cant afford it. But anyway, I think I would love to create some sort of concoction that included kale, lots of it!! Hope I win, Hope I win!!

Julie @savvyeats December 8, 2009 at 8:11 am

I think I’d make some sort of nut butter! With chocolate? Or with Bailey’s Irish Creme? Or both? Possibilities are endless!

Kristen @ Simply Savor December 8, 2009 at 8:13 am

everytime i try and make homemade almond/peanut butter i break my blender!! i would enter a DARK CHOCOLATE+RASPBERRY ALMOND BUTTER as my Vitamix recipe! hope i win, thanks for the giveaway heather!

Becky December 8, 2009 at 8:13 am

It would totally be banana ice cream or mixing up some squash soups!

Suzanne December 8, 2009 at 8:14 am

Oh the choices… I think it’s so cool how you can just toss an avocado pit into the vitamix and it blends it like no one’s business! Or maybe some squash puree or soup… yummmm :-D Gosh I want a vitamix so bad!

Sarah R December 8, 2009 at 8:15 am

Banana soft serve–I broke my food processor making some and haven’t had it sense!

Cat December 8, 2009 at 8:15 am

Its a toss up between hummus and almond milk/butter. The possibilities are endless! This is pretty much ALL I want for xmas and my birthday…the 28th! Hope I win!

Melissa December 8, 2009 at 8:15 am

Frozen banana ice cream!!! This is an AMAZING giveaway! Ah I hope I win!

Heather December 8, 2009 at 8:16 am

I would make the most amazing super green smoothie if I won this vitamix!

Amy T. December 8, 2009 at 8:17 am

AMAZING. I would seriously BURST into giant tears and scream to the heavens!!!! This is all my dreams come true – I want this so bad! My blender has a CRACK in the bottom of it and literally leaks the entire time I’m using it but I can’t do without it so I still blend on and wipe up the mess.

Oh Lord, please let me win this. Amen.

Abbie December 8, 2009 at 8:19 am

Wow! Heather, this is an incredible giveaway!!! Oh my goodness, so many things I would make with a Vitamix. I would definitely try some homemade nut butter concoctions, but most of all would love to make a green smoothie that was actually smooth! There’s something about trying to drink un-blended pieces of spinach that isn’t too appetizing. :) Happy Blog Birthday HEAB. You are the best!!

Scott in Ohio December 8, 2009 at 8:19 am

Holy cannoli! A Vita-Mix?!? Wow. Wow.

Since I burned up one blender making green smoothies, that’s what I would film.

For the sequel? Oatgurt. :-)

Molly December 8, 2009 at 8:19 am

Oh man. It would have to be almond butter. or protein ice cream…or hummus…okay, apparently I can’t decide. I have coveted the all-powerful Vita-Mix for ages! Would love the opportunity to hurl my barely-operational blender out the window.

fit lizzio December 8, 2009 at 8:19 am

I would make sweet potato protein pancake mix in my vita mix!!! yumm.

coco December 8, 2009 at 8:19 am

I so want to use it to make almond butter! I can imagine how smooth it will be!!! :D

Audrey Davis December 8, 2009 at 8:23 am

I would love to make some raw soups that require a heavy duty blender!

fitforfree December 8, 2009 at 8:23 am

AHHHHH! You’re kidding!
This is my dream appliance–fingers crossed!

hk December 8, 2009 at 8:24 am

Evan Thomas December 8, 2009 at 8:25 am

I would make a peanut butter avocado pudding

Jordan December 8, 2009 at 8:25 am

What WOULDN’T I make in the Vitamix?! I’d start with all the bookmarked recipes; nut milks, a certain protein ice cream ;) , cashew cheez, blended soups…dare I dream of HOMEMADE TAHINI!?! It would be nice to use for blending up juice pulp to make into crackers too. All the dips I could make with the tahini- baba, hummus, miso/AB/tahini spread…SWOOOON

Dana December 8, 2009 at 8:25 am

Wow what a great giveaway! I could finally start making some of the delicious recipes found in the blog world.

Jodi December 8, 2009 at 8:26 am

I would LOVE to make my banana softserve in the Vita-Mix, as well as my green monsters, almond butter, the list goes on and on. What an awesome giveaway Heather!!!!

rach December 8, 2009 at 8:26 am

There are a ton of things I would love to make in a Vita-Mix. I would love to grind my own flour and then make Vita-Mixed bread. If I was doing a video though I would probably make green smoothies, since the my 2 year old’s green smoothie mustache priceless.

Jess December 8, 2009 at 8:27 am

I would make smoothies… spinach, raspberries and almond butter. yum!

livingfreeforever December 8, 2009 at 8:28 am

OMG! Amazing give away Heather!! Hmm, what would I make? Oh, if I could eat it I would definitely make oatgurt! I haven’t had any in SOOOO long! I know you don’t actually ferment the oatgurt in the Vitamix, but I have gone through TWO blenders trying to blend the oats with as little water as possible ;) I would also make your protein ice cream. Tried it in my blender–not so good texture wise. I’m sure I could come up with all sorts of things to make. I use my blender EVERY day!

Briana December 8, 2009 at 8:28 am

I would LOVE a vita mix!! I would definitely make my own soups with it!

Jes December 8, 2009 at 8:30 am

I’ve been lusting after a vita mix for awhile now, but my grad student budget just won’t budge for it! If I had one, I’d film myself whipping up a delicious super spicy hot sauce recipe–can’t beat peppers and onions and tomatoes oh my!

Kristie Lynn December 8, 2009 at 8:30 am

I would make warm delicious soup. Or pecan butter. Do I really have to choose? :)

Marianne in Auburn December 8, 2009 at 8:31 am

Oh My! The best giveaway ever!!! I would try out so many things but would first try to make my own nut butters. Been dying to try making cashew butter.

My food processor starts to get that burning smell when I make other things in it so I have been afraid to try nut butters in it. When I make smoothies/shakes, I have to start in the food processor and then transfers to my cheapo crappy blender and then I am still left with chunks of ice/food!! And I make the biggest mess in the process!! You should have seen me trying to make Gena’s raw whipped cream with cashews…quite a sight. My mom-in-law has a vita-mix and I have been trying to steal it for the last 6 months…unfortunately she lives 12 hours away or I would have accidentally permanently borrowed it ;-)

Laura December 8, 2009 at 8:31 am

I would make smoothies, too many variations to list!

Sarah (from See Sarah Eat) December 8, 2009 at 8:32 am

OMG! I would die for a vitamix!! I would make lots of vegan ice cream :)

I also wanted to share this pic with you because I know you love kabocha :) From the page of the bassist from the Goo Goo Dolls (my favorite band, nerd alert!).

http://twitpic.com/snu4h

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 9:20 am

Sarah, Oh my gosh, his kabocha is huge. So jealous of that cat! ;)

Julia December 8, 2009 at 8:33 am

I would make glazed carrot and ginger soup!

Daria @ Daria Can Cook December 8, 2009 at 8:33 am

Oh my, what a giveaway! I’d use a vitamix for some magic soup a la Chocolate-Covered Katie’s latest post. :)

Beth S. December 8, 2009 at 8:34 am

My first thought was soup and then I saw a comment that mentioned hummus. Now I can’t decide…

Jessica December 8, 2009 at 8:34 am

Would love a VitaMix!

Brooke December 8, 2009 at 8:35 am

Limerton December 8, 2009 at 8:37 am

OH MAN I am a poor college student and would lovelovelove a mixer to make delicious concoctions like you.

Jennifer December 8, 2009 at 8:37 am

I would throw a shoe and a few tennis balls in the mixer just to demonstrate how powerful it is- I’d call it a protein shake. :)

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 9:21 am

Jennifer, Hilarious. :)

Chrissy December 8, 2009 at 8:38 am

Mmmmm! Ice Cream!!! Or Hummus…or Butternut Squash Soup…it’s so hard to pick!

julia December 8, 2009 at 8:38 am

I would make a green smoothie.

Allison December 8, 2009 at 8:39 am

What an amazing giveaway! I would film myself making banana ice cream. And I would be sooo thrilled to get rid of my crappy blender, I would even dress in a banana costume!

Red Head, Yellow Dog December 8, 2009 at 8:39 am

oh my gosh!! so awesome! I’ve been wanting to try that protein ice cream!

Katie December 8, 2009 at 8:40 am

NO idea soup, hummus, raw nut sauces. Possibilities are endless!

Mary Z December 8, 2009 at 8:40 am

I would make some nut butter or a fabulous protien smoothie. I have been dying for one of these but haven’t had the money to purchase. Thanks for all the great give aways.

kathleen December 8, 2009 at 8:41 am

i told my boyfriend the other day the only reason i want to get married is because i want a juicer or a vita-mix. thank you for preventing me from rushing into marriage just for the kitchen appliances :) .

Jillian December 8, 2009 at 8:41 am

Wow Heather, a vitamix….that’s so incredibly awesome!!! I would share my pumpkin protein ice cream…yummmm, so tasty!! You and your blog are amazing my dear…

VeggieGirl December 8, 2009 at 8:41 am

I would make lots of smoothies, since I need them these days for extra fuel.

Limerton December 8, 2009 at 8:42 am

I forgot to add a pitch- at home I make my own lara-bar type things, and after every weak pulse I have to stir the nuts and dates. I’d love to make some date walnut “brownies” beacuse everyone loves them, but with your protein ice cream? Helloo

Cali December 8, 2009 at 8:43 am

I would make gluten-free flours, galore! I’d make quinoa flour, millet flour, buckwheat flour. Endless possibilities! I’d save SO much money using the Vita-Mix because those GF flours can get pricey…. But I wouldn’t neglect the wonders of the green monster, or protein ice-cream, or blended breakfast grains. Seriously, is there a better appliance available? I submit that there is not! :)

Kelsey December 8, 2009 at 8:43 am

so, this is an insane giveaway :]
i would contribute a soup recipe to the contest, probably sweet potato or squash….or both?!

Abby December 8, 2009 at 8:43 am

I would probably make some green monster concoction!! oooooo I would LOVE to win this!

Carol @ The Hummusphere December 8, 2009 at 8:44 am

oh my gosh i’d just end up throwing everything in there. i would totally love being able to make my own nut butters :D

JENNA December 8, 2009 at 8:50 am

what a grand finale!!!!! :) so cool! i’ve been wanting a vita mix for soooo long now!
i would make:
soups, nut butters, nut milks (eeeekkk!!!), ice cream, smoothies

Jen December 8, 2009 at 8:50 am

I’m about to move and would love to have a vita as an apartment-warming surprise!! My mom’s 20-year old veteran blender works but is only so strong…

In the vita I would create my own nut butter concoctions, so perhaps something like a blend of cashews, almonds and spices. Or I would make smoother smoothies — my mother’s blender leaves carrot/apple smoothies rather bumpy.

Erika December 8, 2009 at 8:51 am

New HEAB reader here and wow, what a giveaway! I would definitely use a Vita-Mix to make smoothies. My current blender is so terrible and the blades are so dull. It won’t even break up ice!

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 9:23 am

Erika, Welcome. :)

Emily December 8, 2009 at 8:51 am

Girrrl…what wouldn’t I make in that gorgeous Vita Mix! Honestly, what I would love to make is the p-e-r-f-e-c-t green smoothie with all the trimmings for my dad. He recently had a heart attack and was diagnosed with diabetes to boot and is working to clean up his eats and start a new life. Unfortunately his taste buds haven’t quite warmed up to lots of leafy greens in liquid form. I’ve been wanting to make him a green smoothie with spinach, blueberries, almond breeze, flax meal, etc.etc.etc. that I know he’d love but his blender can’t take the heat (!)

Then I’d make a big ole’ batch of cashew butter for me and my boo Robby :)

Lauren Christine. December 8, 2009 at 8:53 am

this is amazing! i’d make a whole fruit margarita or a greens drink with whole beets, celery, chard, apple, parsley, and fresh ginger.

Chelsea December 8, 2009 at 8:54 am

Wow, it would be so awesome to win this. I make a lot of smoothies and our blender is unhappy when I request it to chop up anything frozen!!!

tangerinesandmarmalade December 8, 2009 at 8:56 am

What an amazing giveaway! I would totes step up my green monster consumption.

Estela @ Weekly Bite December 8, 2009 at 8:56 am

I would do anything for a vitamix!!!

Ashley December 8, 2009 at 8:56 am

Almond milk! Sadly my $20 Walmart blender broke when I first attempted to grind all those almonds.

Oh well. Maybe one day when I’m not poor I’ll get a Vita-mix. I’ve got my fingers crossed to win!

Caitlin December 8, 2009 at 8:58 am

I would make some type of dessert smoothie!! mmm!

Kristi December 8, 2009 at 8:58 am

I would love this. Homemade almond butter, smoothies and many many soups.

erin December 8, 2009 at 8:58 am

oh my god, i almost just wet my pants! please enter me :D !!!

molly @thevegandorm December 8, 2009 at 8:58 am

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 9:25 am

Roger that Mark. Consider yourself entered. :)

alli December 8, 2009 at 9:00 am

OH MY GOSH! i would LOVE this! i’ve been dying for one; i’m not on the nice list so please pick me! :)
id make ALMOND BUTTER first. oh, and ive been meaning to make that cashew cream sauce!

erin December 8, 2009 at 9:02 am

Ahhh! I hope this doesn’t mess up your random generator results! My entry is a couple above, but I was so excited I forgot to say what I would make! It’d be green monsters, nut butters and coconut ice cream all the way ;D

Beth December 8, 2009 at 9:03 am

Woot woot the vitamix will put my magic bullet to shame nut butters and yummy protein shakes will be the first thing on tap!

Dee December 8, 2009 at 9:05 am

Heather, your blog is amazing and so are you.

What a giveaway!!! Oh, I hope I win!

Nolita Morgan December 8, 2009 at 9:06 am

I would probably start off with Chocomole with coconut (3 ripe avocados, raw cacao powder, cream of coconut and vanilla) to chill while I make the garlicky hummus and chicken tortilla soup.

KK December 8, 2009 at 9:06 am

ahhh i would LOVE to win this!

Danielle C December 8, 2009 at 9:06 am

I dream of making the banana soft serve, but my mediocre blender just doesn’t seem to get the job done. :(

Angela December 8, 2009 at 9:06 am

I would die happy! I’m tired of whacking and shaking my regular blender for 10 min each morning while my bf makes fun of me.

joan December 8, 2009 at 9:07 am

I’d make nut butters (yay!!) and try protein ice cream!!

carin December 8, 2009 at 9:07 am

i want a vita mix! pick me!

Lindsay December 8, 2009 at 9:07 am

I would have to make a yummy green smoothie or some pasta sauce. It would be so incredibly awesome to win this!

Katy T December 8, 2009 at 9:07 am

ooh i’d make nut butters and frozen banana soft serve/ice cream!
happy blogiversary!

Amalia December 8, 2009 at 9:07 am

I can’t decide – probably hummus! I like mine with extra garlic :)
But I would also love to make almond butter and banana soft serve!!!

Julie December 8, 2009 at 9:10 am

I would finally try making blended oats! And make my own nut butters — my poor old food processor can’t handle them :-(

Laura December 8, 2009 at 9:10 am

I’d make my delicious (and super healthy!) carrot, squash, and sweet potato soup!

Eliza December 8, 2009 at 9:10 am

I would grind vanilla beans, whole spices and coffee beans for flavored coffees to give as gifts! Hot Crossed (Cinnamon) Bun? Chocolate Covered Peppermint? A decaf variety in artsy packaging could rival Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride : )

Jane December 8, 2009 at 9:11 am

This is a sick giveaway!

I’d probably attempt making a soup because that’s really something only a powerful blender can do! Squash soup, perhaps…yum. :)

Okay, so I realize the chances of winning are going to be super slim, but it can’t hurt to try, right?

Jessie December 8, 2009 at 9:12 am

I would make homemade almond butter, because I’ve never had it and I’m sure it’s delicious!

Gina December 8, 2009 at 9:16 am

I would make my own soups!

Mara @ What's For Dinner? December 8, 2009 at 9:16 am

I MUST HAVE THIS!!!!
Well, mostly because I want one blender for smoothies only and one for other stuff :)

Kristen December 8, 2009 at 9:17 am

Hmm… the best giveaway EVER!!! I rarely enter … but how could I NOT send out all of my positive blender vibes to the give-a-way Gods! The first thing I would make is homemade tahini – well I would price it out first. Do you think it is cheaper to make at home? Maybe not. As I eat it straight out of the jar on everything!- my obsession has become quite pricey. Oh the things we do for love. Oh, and don’t worry – you will get the first batch!

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 9:37 am

Kristen, You know, I’ve never tried making my own tahini. I think it’s probably easier to just buy it since it’s not that expensive at Kroger, my local grocery store. However, I’ll gladly take a batch of your homemade version if you should win. ;)

Peace and Peanutbutter December 8, 2009 at 9:17 am

A DELICIOUS Pumpkin smoothie!

Steph December 8, 2009 at 9:17 am

I’d LOVE to win the vita-mix! My blender broke last week.

Jill December 8, 2009 at 9:18 am

I would make delicious raw soups and nut butters (have been endlessly searching for walnut butter… wouldn’t that be tasty?)!

Lisa December 8, 2009 at 9:19 am

Ohhh goodness, what an amazing giveaway! I’ve always wanted to make ice cream in the vitamix! And I’ve always to be able to pulverize almonds in a blender without it burning out :)

Erin December 8, 2009 at 9:19 am

Oh my garsh. That.is.amazing. And so are you! Maybe you could get CD to autograph the Vita Mix!? :)

jenna December 8, 2009 at 9:19 am

smoothie time!! i’m under a severe winter storm warning right now and the thought of this just brightened my day!!

Gina December 8, 2009 at 9:20 am

I would make almond milk, so I can also use the leftover pulp for all sorts of goodies as well! Amazing giveaway!!!

kbevans December 8, 2009 at 9:21 am

wow! how amazing! I think it would definitely be the frozen banana “ice cream” I’ve seen all over the blog world. it just doesn’t work in my blender! thanks so much!

Allison Rentmeester December 8, 2009 at 9:21 am

I would make better smoothies! I’m in college, and the one I have is a piece of junk! Always big chunks of ice let in it! :(

tracy December 8, 2009 at 9:21 am

if i had this i’d make EVERY recipe from averie!

Melissa M. December 8, 2009 at 9:22 am

OMG….I would L.O.V.E one!!!! It would be the best Christmas present ever. Please enter me. :)

Jenna H December 8, 2009 at 9:22 am

oh my god!!! i am obsessed with the vita mix! all i have now is a crappy $20 target blender. i think i would make something i’ve always wanted to but can’t make with my blender now, like chocolate protein ice cream or raw chocolate chip cookies. it’s a tie :]

Rebekah December 8, 2009 at 9:23 am

It would totally have to be on how to make almond milk!!

Kyle December 8, 2009 at 9:24 am

I would demo HOW MUCH FASTER it is to make gluten free Babycakes NYC recipes with it…vs stirring with a bowl and a spoon. I love blenders.

organicashley December 8, 2009 at 9:27 am

A VITA MIX!!! HOLY COW!! Pick me and I will be forever in your debt! Maybe dreams do come true!

Martha December 8, 2009 at 9:27 am

Graze With Me December 8, 2009 at 9:30 am

BEST. GIVEAWAY. EVER. Hands down! Thanks Vita Mix and Heather!

Amanda December 8, 2009 at 9:30 am

AHHH I would love a VitaMix!!! So often, bright and early, I try to make my Green Monster smoothie, jam all the stuff down with a spoon … only to have it get caught in the blades and scare the crap out of me! So I would make my smoothies in my pajamas with a SMILE on my face because I won’t have to use a spoon :)

Marina December 8, 2009 at 9:31 am

I would love love love to make me some almond buttah!!!!

Abi December 8, 2009 at 9:32 am

I would LOVE to win a Vitamix!!!

Kelly December 8, 2009 at 9:33 am

Heather, I am recent to the food blogisphere but I have enjoyed reading your blog. As for what I would demonstrate . . . I think I would actually make a squash soup of some kind. I have actually attempted to make it with my cuisinart and though it works with some assistance I think this would ensure the soup was smooth and airy. Thanks!

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 9:35 am

Kelly, Glad you found me. Thanks for reading. :)

Ameena December 8, 2009 at 9:34 am

Wow, what an amazing gift. I hope I win!!!

Tes December 8, 2009 at 9:35 am

Wow!! I would love to win this!! I would make soups and smoothies and your amazing looking ice cream recipes! Thanks!

Janice December 8, 2009 at 9:35 am

Oh my gosh!!!! YAY! I’d love to win the Vita-Mix!!! I would probably make my new breakfast oatmeal delight. Using soaked oat groats and soaked nuts and gojis and some other things. mmmm, it is SO tastey!

Thanks for the chance to win!
JAnice

Bethany Cross December 8, 2009 at 9:42 am

an omelette! There’s quite an art to the omelette…I would love to demonstrate my routine in cooking it! Plus, there are so many variations of the omelette, it would be hard to choose my favorite!

Janie December 8, 2009 at 9:42 am

I would make smoothies all the time!! I would also make all kinds of different nut butters, much cheaper than buying them at the store!

Sheri December 8, 2009 at 9:44 am

Smoothies & nut butters!!!!!!

Lucy December 8, 2009 at 9:46 am

Woah! Are you serious? What a fun prize! I would make green monsters! Or ice cream! Mmmmm!

Michelle December 8, 2009 at 9:50 am

Nikki December 8, 2009 at 9:57 am

Hi there Heather! I’m a first time poster/long time HEAB-er :) My beloved cousin Jill turned me onto your site and since then there has been lotsa nut butter and yoga love goin on!
I’m currently droooooling over this Vita-mix pic, how generous of the Vita-mix people! I am a past Java/Juice bar barista so I’m well aware of the magnificence that a few quick pulses in a vita-mix can create.
Keep up the HEAB-tastic-ness!!
Nikki

Sam December 8, 2009 at 9:57 am

i have a weird thing about store bought hummus, so i would make my own. mmm with jalapenos.

Nikki December 8, 2009 at 10:00 am

Oh and I forgot to add– I would tooootally tape myself creating my ultra indulgent black bean brownies… Fiber-licious!!!

Emily December 8, 2009 at 10:01 am

I would definitely make the prettiest green smoothies….ok, I would make green smoothies, but mine aren’t actually all that pretty, owing to the mix of blackberries + spinach equally brownish sludge. But they TASTE amazing, and that’s what counts….

Rita December 8, 2009 at 10:03 am

Oh my god, what an awesome giveaway. I would make my butternut squash soup, with Bartlet pears, onions, garlic, butternut squash, and curry. I have this pathetic little blender and I have to blend my soup in batches, it makes a huge mess and is such a pain to use. I would love love love to have the VitaMix, it would make my life so much easier.

Kelly December 8, 2009 at 10:03 am

Ooohh….I would love love love to have a vitamix. I have some food allergies, and I’m trying to make more fun, healthy things. I would love to make my own nut butters, try making pumpkin ice cream or raw desserts. I would love to make up my own version (of your) Nutella, since I love that stuff and can’t have it because they are mean and put milk in it. I would make hummus…oh, so many things! It would be used almost daily I’m sure!

MeredithLeigh December 8, 2009 at 10:05 am

Oh I would love to win a vita-mix! I would film myself making a creamy, butternut squash puree for soup! Something simple, but always delicious.

lainie December 8, 2009 at 10:07 am

I would make pumpkin pudding…

1 cup of coconut milk drink [so delicious brand]
1 tbs agar powder
dash of vanilla extract
dash of cinnamon

heat over medium heat for 10 minutes, pour into bowl and chill until firm

then put that [its kinda like opaque jello] in the blender along with:
1/2 cup of pumpkin
healthy dash of allspice
healthy dash of cinnamon
1 packet of stevia

then refrigerate for 30ish minutes until firmed up again…or freeze for a frozen treat.

OR

i would make my vega chocolate protein pudding:

follow the first steps to make opaque jello…

then blend that with one packet of chocolate vega, stevia, and cacao nibs.

YUM.

Shannon December 8, 2009 at 10:08 am

I might make one of my probiotic smoothies or maybe a blended vegetable salad dressing.

Jessica December 8, 2009 at 10:09 am

Wow – how awesome! I would film myself making either some sort of pesto, or perhaps a spicy butternut squash dip.

Rita December 8, 2009 at 10:09 am

Amazing! I would film a comparison- the Vita-Mix vs the other supposed “top of the line” blenders I’ve purchased in the last year(Breville Ikon and Kitchen Aid) to show how superior the Vita-Mix truly is. Popular Mechanics (http://www.popularmechanics.com/home_journal/tools/4332328.html) does NOT know what it’s talking about and I’d like to explain why! The Vita-Mix could make 5 smoothies in the time the other blenders could make 1, and that’s what I would show.

Thanks so much!

Misty December 8, 2009 at 10:09 am

I’ve always wanted to try a green monster, but there’s no way my ancient blender would be able to handle all that produce, so a VitaMix would be a welcome addition to my kitchen. For the video, I’d probably make some homemade nut butter – almond first, of course!

Michelle December 8, 2009 at 10:10 am

I would film myself making one of my favorite “green monsters” that I treat myself to every Saturday morning (only morning I have time to make them!). Wow–blending in a Vitamix would be awesome!

apartmentnearchinatown December 8, 2009 at 10:12 am

Making nut butters or almond milk would be awesome….but I’d probably use the VitaMix most often for SOUP!

I think I’d film one of the many times I make Curried Carrot and Sweet Potato Soup :)

Lara December 8, 2009 at 10:12 am

I would make my favorite smoothie–yogurt, bannana, almond butter, and cocao powder

Sophia Pflieger December 8, 2009 at 10:16 am

I want a Vita-mix blender so badly. I actually fantasize about what I could make with it! Please pick me, I’ve actually never won anything ever. It would be awesome to win something, especially such a grand prize!!!!
sophia.pflieger@gmail.com

Kristen December 8, 2009 at 10:16 am

I would make my morning coffee/smoothie. It’s great in the summer and the coffee adds a little kick to get your day started! Yummm

elise December 8, 2009 at 10:17 am

id make hummus…oh my god, i want a vita SO badly. if i won, id film myself using it every day for the rest of my life, haha!

Sophia Pflieger December 8, 2009 at 10:18 am

Oh yeah, I forgot to say the first thing I would do with my new vita-mix if I would win. I would grind my own flours because I can and that would awesome to be able to do it!
sophia.pflieger@gmail.com

Amanda December 8, 2009 at 10:19 am

Woot! Sign me up :) Smoothies….yummers

Love the blog.

SallyAnn December 8, 2009 at 10:19 am

I would make raw banana ice cream. My food processor started smoking when I tired….no good!

Monica December 8, 2009 at 10:20 am

I would make so many things!! First on the list I would make almond butter because I’ve tried making it in my food processor and it never comes out right! Thanks for the awesome giveaway Heather!

maren December 8, 2009 at 10:20 am

oh my gosh! i want a vitamix SOOSOOOO badly!!! id probably film myself making some sort of smoothie because i love the fact you can throw in whole fruits and they will be pulverized in seconds!! or banana soft serve :)

Megan W December 8, 2009 at 10:20 am

I would love to try out soooo many recipes! My blender can’t handle nuts. And my husband can’t handle the price of a Vita-Mix! I’d be most excited to make some yummy HEAB nut butter and some blended soups.

Diana (Soap & Chocolate) December 8, 2009 at 10:20 am

Shut UP. A Vitamix giveaway? You are too much.

But I’ll take it.

I think I would put my Vitamix to the test by making all manner of cookie dough and such so as to whip up all kinds of instant/raw treats. Or maybe just a batter for Pancake Sunday. :)

Meg December 8, 2009 at 10:20 am

I would LOVE to make some sort of protein ice cream – I always drool over your creamy concoctions :P Maybe some banana soft serve, or homemade nut butter too ;)

Britt - Runnerbelle December 8, 2009 at 10:23 am

hummus, soup, pesto…. the uses are endless! no more crappy blender.

Amanda December 8, 2009 at 10:26 am

I need this vitamix! I am on a liquid diet because I have a digestive disease and this would make my life much better! :-)

Michaella December 8, 2009 at 10:27 am

I have been reading your blog for awhile now and find your journey to wellness amazing. I believe that it is a constant journey, rather than a battle and love how you are optimistic about it rather than complaining about the numbers on the scale or on the tag of a pair of pants. I believe life is beautiful and so is each one of us – we just have to believe it ourselves. As for the VitaMix – I suppose I would try to make all of the delicious recipes I have seen on yours and many other blogs (i.e. protein ice-cream, kale chips, green monster smoothies, hummus, etc.). I have already told my fiance that we need to register for a blender ASAP :) Take care and have a great day!

also, I was wondering if the gums have a distinct taste? I was considering purchasing some at the store, but wanted to do some research before making the purchase. Thanks for your time.

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 12:09 pm

Michaella, I do not notice the gums have a taste, but I only use a 1/4 to 1/2 a tsp at a time. That’s all you need. :)

Amanda December 8, 2009 at 10:28 am

Oh, yeah- I would make salad smoothies to make sure I am getting my veggies in!

Ali December 8, 2009 at 10:30 am

Okay one of my friends from church is the grandaughter of the founder of Vitamix and works for the store in Olmsted Falls. So I would love a Vitamix to support her family, but I can’t afford one now because I don’t have enough money. I would make a combination of mint chocolate chip low fat ice cream, natural peanut butter, skim milk, and dark chocolate kisses. I know that is not the healthiest combination, but it sounds decadent and dreamy!

Tegan December 8, 2009 at 10:30 am

Soup! And Banana soft serve! I want one!

Claire December 8, 2009 at 10:32 am

I’ve got a blender now, but man is it and about to burn up — especially since I’ve been experimenting with fudge babies! :D The vitamixer looks amazing!

Cindy December 8, 2009 at 10:34 am

I would make a raw soup. My blender does an okay job..OKAY but not smoothe…plus I know vitamix’s warm it so HELLO PERFECT

I have learned to live without a dehydrator….and I burn up blenders faster than my cell phone…I use my food processor, blender and juicer daily and have been holding my breath for a vita mix for over a year now.

OH SIGN ME UP!

I have to baby my blender to help it last….would love LOVE a VITA MIX

Thanks for such an AMAZING give away.

Jess December 8, 2009 at 10:34 am

I have really been wanting to try and make frozen banana soft serve!

buffmuffy December 8, 2009 at 10:36 am

Wow… the day I come back.. youre offering my most desired machine??!??!?!?!?!?
OMG…
How generous are the folks at Vitamix?
This would make my new apt a dream. I will have the tiniest of kitchens but lots of things to cook with. All I need is a blender!
-muffy

Erica H. December 8, 2009 at 10:38 am

I need this to make me some green monsters when I relocate to Washington, D.C.! Up until now I’ve lived with roommates (who have a blender and have put up with the green that gets stuck in the blender before I wash it). Buying one for myself isn’t a priority when trying to pay for apartments/moving costs, so I can’t buy one right now. But I don’t know how long I can go without my monsters!

plamarie December 8, 2009 at 10:38 am

Holy smokes!! I wish wish wish I could win!! I would make crazy silly nut butters. I’m not sure my food processer can handle. I would also like to experiment with nut milks. Deb got me thinking of so many neat mix ins and flavors for the various nut butter options. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous. One day, I swear I will be making those nut butters. :)

buffmuffy December 8, 2009 at 10:38 am

Oops hit submit too soon :D
I would make the most amazing green monster concoction ever created. Something bizarre and tropical. :)

Therese December 8, 2009 at 10:41 am

Ok this is possibly the coolest giveaway in bloggie history!!!

Hmmmm I think I would have to go with banana softserve or a green monster or some soup or anything really if it meant this magic machine would be in my kitchen!

Stephanie December 8, 2009 at 10:43 am

omg, I have no idea what I would make…this contest knocked me right over! I guess I would make… ummm… ummmm.. some kind of nut pate. or dressing. but since I haven’t worked with a Vita Mix I don’t know what I would make! I imagine whole new worlds opening up to me!

Oh, please, please, please!

Amanda Jewell December 8, 2009 at 10:45 am

ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS!! I’ve been raw for almost a whole year & STILL don’t have a VITA-MIX! I just graduated & will soon be a “struggling master’s student”! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to win this one! I never win anything! As my blender is …umm… let’s say “not up to par” (to put it nicely) and I’m raw, to keep the spirits of raw food, I would make my special Winter Green Smoothie!!
ENTER ME!!!

Lanie D December 8, 2009 at 10:45 am

Sigh, I admit to internet stalking VitaMix blenders. First step is admitting you have a problem :)

I so want to try making a healthy icecream, most notably the frozen banana concoction that everyone is talking about.

Hilary December 8, 2009 at 10:46 am

I would make almond butter! And maybe some ice cream goodness :)

Megan December 8, 2009 at 10:46 am

I would FOR SURE make a blendy grain (HEAB inspired) dish. I didn’t bring my vita mix to college thinking that a regular bleser would suffice, but I was painfully WRONG! I try blending grains but the end result is still chunky and visually unsettling. Hooray for the powerful vitamix!!

Megan December 8, 2009 at 10:47 am

*blender. My iPhone corrects that to “bleser.” why????

Michelle December 8, 2009 at 10:48 am

I would make a video of using the vitamix to make an entire meal–a green smoothie to drink, some hummus to go with veggies or bread, and a delicious pureed butternut squash soup.

Sweet and Fit December 8, 2009 at 10:53 am

oh my goodness! I can’t tell you how long I have wanted a vitamix! I’d make a video of me showing its multitude of uses- in baking, blending soups, everything! its supposed to be really good for people with dysphagia. **crossing my fingers i win!!!**

Lauren (Biochemista) December 8, 2009 at 10:54 am

I’d make my ‘fruit and green protein’ smoothie or my homemade pesto to use on spiralized zucchini!

Gen December 8, 2009 at 10:54 am

Long time HEAB-er! This post was too awesome not to comment on! I would definitely make a tortilla soup and some chipotle almond butter to put on it!!

Jes December 8, 2009 at 10:54 am

Oh, the concoctions this would make sooo much easier! Heather you are amazing! :) And Vitamix is AWESOME!!

I would make a video demonstrating the differences between chunky smoothies and vitamix smooth smoothies (and the lack of green gunk stuck in my teeth!) Yes, I now have to carry around a toothbrush for those emberassing moments! :)

And then there are Kati’s Fudge Babies along with other Raw desserts! Soups! Pudding! IceCream!!! Nut Butters…Oh My Gosh!!! Homemade nut butters *drool*!!! Wow, this would make life soooo much easier! Please please please, PLEASE!!! Our family could really use something like this and I promise it would be dearly loved!

As your week long celebration comes to an end our family wishes you another blessed year! You have helped inspire me to start doing yoga, given me ideas to experiment with in the kitchen, and above all to love myself! Thank you for all that you do…you are a doll…and last but not least…thanks CD for your silly comment contributions!!!…We miss the egg love! ;) hehehehe!

Laura B December 8, 2009 at 10:55 am

Ah! Who doesn’t want one of these?

I would probably show how to make some delicious chocolate pie complete with date/almond crust and some chocomole filling =) mmm

or perhaps avocado soup – my favorite breakfast!

jvegegirl December 8, 2009 at 10:57 am

Oh man what wouldn’t I make? Nut milks, grain milks, nut butters, my own whole grain flours, raw soups, amazing smoooooothies, pastry dough, ack i would make everything!

Kristen December 8, 2009 at 10:58 am

I would totally make a flavor nut butter like almond butter with cacao nibs. I’d use this daily for groats, berry smoothies, and rich soups.

My current blender is from a decade before my birth, and it doesn’t have a lid (it broke). It is clearly on its last leg. :-D Besides, a Vita is in a class of its OWN!

kathleen December 8, 2009 at 11:03 am

i read through some of your favorite old posts and i completely agree with you. yoga is better for weight loss than running is. honestly, when i start running a lot i gain about 10 pounds. never fails. it’s not as if i am eating more calories than i burn off either. anyway, i would love to win a vitamix!

Krista N December 8, 2009 at 11:03 am

Oh my! Soups, smoothies, nut butters, the possibilities are endless. :)

Pure2Raw Twins December 8, 2009 at 11:05 am

Awesome Heather!! I am so happy you able to help get Vita-mix into one lucky person’s hand. You know we would love another, ours is always in use making green smoothies, raw yogurt, raw cheesecake, puddings, sauces, dressings, soups, and much more.

Okay so what would the twins make for the video…ummm…we are thinking a pie. Maybe chocolate almond butter pie in honor of your birthday ; ) And we would finish the pie with raw whipped cream and carmel drizzle!! And everything would be done in one machine – Vita-mix!!

Good luck to everyone : )

Donca December 8, 2009 at 11:06 am

Wow Heather this is such a great giveaway! I have been dying for a vitamix

I would show myself making a green smoothie with water, spinich, Kale, strawberries and bananas. It’s my favorite combination and I have one most mornings. Then I would proceed to try out some blended soup recipes.

clare December 8, 2009 at 11:06 am

Oh my gosh! What a fantastic Christmas surprise this would be!! First thing on my to-make list would for sure be homemade nut butters :)

Fallon December 8, 2009 at 11:07 am

I would go smoothie crazy with a vitamix!

Blair December 8, 2009 at 11:08 am

I’d love to start whipping up some homemade soups. But you can bet a batch of protein ice cream would definitely be for dessert!

Taylor December 8, 2009 at 11:09 am

pick me pick me pick me!!! eeeee!!!

lauren December 8, 2009 at 11:11 am

I would LOVE to have one! omg!

Jessica December 8, 2009 at 11:13 am

I would film myself making winter soup! I love soup in the winter, and tonight I’ll be making a batch of leek and potato soup.

Noelle December 8, 2009 at 11:13 am

Oh I have always wanted a vitamix!!! I dont even know what I would begin to make but I think for a video I would make my Green Smoothies. Its something I do every morning and I think having a vitamix would make it that much easier! Then I could get into making my own nut butters with ease!!! Keeping my fingers crossed!!! Noelle

Heather December 8, 2009 at 11:14 am

I would like to make my very own nut butter. I’ve tried in my blender and food processor and they just can’t cut it. I must have this vita-mix!

werise December 8, 2009 at 11:15 am

I would love one!!

Anne December 8, 2009 at 11:15 am

Wow, I would love a vitamix SO MUCH!! I would film myself making raw soups because normal blenders can’t handle carrots, beets, etc. Crossing my fingers!!

stacy December 8, 2009 at 11:20 am

I would love to win the vita-mix! love your blog!

Michelle R December 8, 2009 at 11:20 am

OOOOOOh my goodness, no words. I am so excited that you are doing this! First of all because I have wanted one of these forever, and second because it is so generous. Thank you to you, HEAB, and to VitaMix folks for being so awesome!! I’ve enjoyed reading your giveaways for the 1st anniversary!
So … with my VitaMix I would film myself making nut butters, of course, especially the NutellaBU! That is, if it were still running. Ha. Maybe also chile verde and salsa, as Mexican is my favorite, and my specialty. :)

gwen December 8, 2009 at 11:21 am

tie between banana soft-serve and my own almond butter : ) hope chritmas comes early! Thanks HEAB!

Holly December 8, 2009 at 11:23 am

Ooh! I think I would film myself making some sort of yogurt and juice combination. How heavenly!

Sloane December 8, 2009 at 11:26 am

I would make cinnamon raisin almond butter!

Elizabeth December 8, 2009 at 11:28 am

Oh wow, this giveaway looks awesome! I have been reading all your recipes, but if I won a vitamix, I would film myself making some banana ice cream. So delicious and just banana! Then you can add the chocolate swirls with no guilt…. mmmmm.

If I had to do an entire meal, I would show mysef making squash soup for a starter and then my own pico de gallo for tacos.

Now I’m hungry!
:)

Chrysta December 8, 2009 at 11:34 am

Im so excited!! Ive always wanted one of these! where to start, I would make awesome smoothies, cookies, nut butters, soups…anything really! Yeyeyey! So excited for this contest. Thanks!

Stacie December 8, 2009 at 11:36 am

I would make smoothies for my boys so I can show their beaming smiles at the end!

~Kasie December 8, 2009 at 11:39 am

Oh my goodness!! I’ve wanted a Vitamix for so long!!
I would make a yummy soup since Winter always gives me major soup cravings. I love the fact that the Vitamix warms without killing enzymes. :)

cyncuth December 8, 2009 at 11:42 am

I’ve been asking for a VitaMix for the past couple of Christmases, but my parents won’t bite. Haha!

I’ve been eyeing your Nutella recipe, Heab… so I would make that chocolate hazelnut butter with roasted hazelnuts, stevia, sea salt, vanilia, and dark cocoa. I would then blend that with almond milk, and pour over banana soft serve. MMMMMm!

VitaMixes are useful for so many amazing things, but nut butters are perhaps the most unique, because you can’t create nut butters in a regular blender. It’s easier and faster to use than a food processor, too!

lawvecooking December 8, 2009 at 11:43 am

OH MY GOODNESS! This is soooo exciting. I’ve just started realizing how awesome the power is of a Vita Mix and how completely insanely expensive they are! It would be an awesome gift for me and my hubby who loves to make smoothies with fresh fruit. We have a juicer but I feel like I’m throwing away all those nutrients. The vita mix could pulverize everything! so i’d make all sorts of smoothies! raw ice cream! and try again to make almond butter, my cheapo food processor just can’t break them down well enough! SO PLEASE GIVE THIS TO ME SO I CAN MAKE HUBBY HEALTHIER! Thanks HEAB!

Krysta December 8, 2009 at 11:49 am

HOLY MOLY! I would love to win! I’m not sure what I would make for my video demonstration. Probably one of the many reciepes I’ve been wanting to try that require a hardcore blender! Or ice cream. I love ice cream.

Jessica December 8, 2009 at 11:50 am

Whoops, I was so excited I forgot to tell you what I would make (it would be easier to list what I wouldn’t :) ). Smoothies, multiple types of CCVs babies and protein ice-cream for sure.

JW December 8, 2009 at 11:51 am

OMG! I’ve been dying to get one of these! I think I would make icecream, smoothies, nut butters…The possiblities are endless. Of course I would plan on making some of your yummy creations if I win!!!

Pam December 8, 2009 at 11:51 am

What would I film if I had a vita-mix?? Well I’d throw on my fanciest hollywood looking outfit (not) and show the world how to make some wonderful gluten free goodness such as butternut squash butter, pumpkin butter, kabocha squash butter . . . not to mention some fantabulous pumpkin smoothie like concoctions. It would be like my very own Home Shopping Network Infomercial in my kitchen! :) And my two year old could be my audience and taste test all my wonderful creations. Oh please sent a vita-mix our way. We don’t even own a blender. :-(

Heather December 8, 2009 at 11:51 am

I would love love love to get a Vitamix! I’ve seen the demos at Costco and they looks so powerful. I’d use it to make my creamy spiced corn soup! It wouldn’t have any troubles breaking that down! Heather (BTW love the name!) this giveaway is so amazing, thank you for doing this!

Ellen December 8, 2009 at 12:04 pm

i’ve been trying to budget for a vitamix for years! and my blender just broke a couple weeks ago (probably from daily use… i’ve gotten pretty good use out of it!). i would probably scream/cry/pee my pants if i won this. i wish i were kidding.

I would film myself making a tasty pureed squash or pumpkin soup!

Kayelen December 8, 2009 at 12:30 pm

My husband is diabetic and VERY much a meat and dairy lover. However, after listening to the Skinny Bastard audio book on a six hour road trip one month ago, his lips have not come close to any sort of animal product and his blood sugar levels have fallen dramatically. He now proudly proclaims he’s a vegan. This has led me to lots of blogs to find new ways to eat. (Thank you for all you’ve shown me) We are absolutely thrilled to try new ideas and are finding our taste buds are coming alive and we are enjoying food unlike any other time. All this to say, we are bursting with energy and excitement about this new path before us. There are so many foods we can’t try because we don’t have the proper equipment. We would passionately film ourselves making nutritious smoothies, hummus, pestos for our pasta, or anything else we could dream up -oh, to have a frozen dessert. Thank you for this chance!

Aimee December 8, 2009 at 12:35 pm

I would make the tofu filling for a vegan lasagna.

Laura E December 8, 2009 at 12:35 pm

Thanks so much for the opportunity! I’d make a rich chocolate pudding using avocados, dark cocoa powder, and agave! All I have is a mini food processor, so when I make it it’s a tiny portion that’s not big enough for me!! Thanks so much for the opportunity!

Jessica December 8, 2009 at 12:38 pm

wow- vita mix, I would LOVE to have one. I would use it to make creamy red pepper & carrot soup & cocoa almond butter!

Kristina December 8, 2009 at 12:39 pm

emily December 8, 2009 at 12:45 pm

i would make a raw food recipe. maybe a soup or something so not only would i be showing off the amazing blender, but i will also be introducing raw food to people. i think i would be a very good actress for an infomercial, the commercial would be better than the magic bullet one!
emily

Marie December 8, 2009 at 12:46 pm

What wouldn’t I make? I love making your protein ice cream and mixing up the flavors. (I love ice cream, but it doesn’t love me so much:) I also love making Katie’s fudge babies, and pumpkin pie and cookies so many yummy recipes (That require a awesome blender like the vita mix!)

Marissa December 8, 2009 at 12:48 pm

OH MY GOODNESS!
That would be the best present EVER!
I have been wanting one for SO long now! So many things that need making…so let’s see, I think I would film myself making Dr. Fuhrman’s Anti-Cancer Soup. it’s the soup that got me through my last year of weight loss! It’s incredible, and having a Vita Mix to make it in would make it SO much easier (and less mess) to make! Hooray!

*shakes maracas*

Jenny December 8, 2009 at 12:59 pm

I would love, love, love to get this vitamix. I put it on my holiday wishlist, knowing that it won’t be under my tree :( I am currently using my magic bullet that doesn’t work so well. What a great gift for me. It would double as my birthday and chirstmas presents. My bday is tomorrow :)

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 1:02 pm

Jenny, Happy Birthday one day early. :)

Kristin December 8, 2009 at 1:08 pm

Hmm, would probably blend something a normal blender couldnt handle…perhaps some sort of root soup? Cauliflower perhaps?

Kristin December 8, 2009 at 1:09 pm

Mmm. Super creamy guacamole. . .

Maria December 8, 2009 at 1:14 pm

I would make my own froyo. Just freeze the yogurt, stick it in the vitamix and blend :) So easy, and I’m sure it’ll be creamy!

Lauren December 8, 2009 at 1:16 pm

AWESOME giveaway, I would love to make my own nut butters without fearing that I will break my little food processor that I currently use!!!

dani heileman December 8, 2009 at 1:19 pm

i want to make some yummies! but i don’t even own a blender…help me out vita-mix!

Ali December 8, 2009 at 1:19 pm

Alison December 8, 2009 at 1:20 pm

I would love this! I would do a tortilla soup. I love how the vita-mix is able to heat everything! Awesome!

Jenna December 8, 2009 at 1:23 pm

I would make almond butter. and peanut butter. and maybe cashew butter!

cynmarie December 8, 2009 at 1:27 pm

I would make anything they wanted me to! Hmmm, nut butter, Katie’s fudge babies, soups, etc., etc. I think the first month I would end up going raw and vegan because you wouldn’t get me to cook using anything else!

Heather December 8, 2009 at 1:35 pm

Well, this takes me out of lurking :) A Vita-Mix is on my dream list of things to own. I love reading your blog although I get sad about the almond butter. I developed an allergy to almonds after drinking almond milk. So I stick with peanut, sunflower and cashew butter. And one day I will try a Kabocha thanks to you!

Leianna December 8, 2009 at 1:42 pm

I would totally make green smoothies! I’ve been missing them ever since my blender died, what an amazing giveaway!

Lauren December 8, 2009 at 1:47 pm

I would make nut butters with my husband in an apron as my assistant. We make a great team.
Seriously though, Heather, amazing giveaway!!

Carly B December 8, 2009 at 1:47 pm

Oh my gosh….how excited was I to see this on your site Heather!!! I’ve been coveting the VitaMix for EVER but can’t get myself to drop the serious coin for one. I really should just do it but its painful! ;)
I think I would make green monster smoothies every day….oh and 20 different kind of blended oats as well. Sounds like I’ll be busy…hmm…can you make a living using your vitamix…perhaps opening a smoothie / oats / hummus…etc store… Good idea, no?
In any case- I would cherish and love my VM for eva… sigh….:)

Ashley December 8, 2009 at 1:53 pm

I would LOOOVE a vitamix. I started making green monsters and the bananas cant be too cold otherwise my pathetic blender cant blend them, which means not super cold green monsters. My green monster recipe: 1/2 frozen banana, 3 handfuls spinach, vanilla protein powder, and some pumpkin pie spice. it’s amazing!

Mahealani December 8, 2009 at 1:56 pm

OH DEAR! I HOPE I WIN I HOPE I WIN I HOPE I WIN! I was researching vitamix last night and it’s just way out of my price range right now.

I love raw desserts and soups. Unfortunately, I only have a Megic Bullet! Takes forever to “grind” anything in that! I also love green smoothies, and would give some spinach and kale a good spin! *crosses fingers* And of course that protein ice cream recipe I MUST try, it seems to be everywhere lately!

Heidi December 8, 2009 at 2:04 pm

OMG I was just looking on the Vita-Mix website yesterday night to see if I could afford the blender (I can’t!) and I would LOVELOVELOVE to have one. I would make some all sorts of stuff – Green Monsters (especially with kale because the leaves are so tough!), nut butters, soups, ice cream (since I gave up the regular stuff because of the dairy and sugar) and all of the recipes on HEAB!

By the way Heather, I bought my first kabocha at the farmers’ market because of your blog! I’ve tried a lot of different types of squash already, but your love for kabocha has got me really curious! I can’t wait to eat it :)

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 3:09 pm

Heidi, Let me know what you think of the kabocha. I bought 6 today. I’m known as “the squash girl” at my local Asian Mkt.

Sweet Cheeks December 8, 2009 at 2:05 pm

It would have to be me making almond butter. It’s so hard to do in my regular blender! This is probably the best giveaway ever!

Melissa December 8, 2009 at 2:09 pm

Wow, what a generous giveaway!! I would have to use it to make a delicious vegan cashew “ricotta”

Mary December 8, 2009 at 2:18 pm

SO exciting! Toss my name into the hat, please :)

Katie December 8, 2009 at 2:20 pm

Tara December 8, 2009 at 2:26 pm

Annalisa December 8, 2009 at 2:36 pm

Apple pie or pumpkin pie smoothie ;-)

Carol December 8, 2009 at 2:36 pm

AnAppleADay December 8, 2009 at 2:36 pm

renee December 8, 2009 at 2:43 pm

Lori December 8, 2009 at 2:45 pm

Uh, what wouldn’t I make with a new Vita-Mix from this giveaway! The possibilities are endless! I’d make a chocolate, coconut, banana, almond butter, cinnamon, cayenne, vanilla shake to start. Theeeeeeeeen, hmmmm…… maybe a simple green smoothie. I don’t know. I’d just like to win!

Shannon December 8, 2009 at 2:46 pm

AHHH!! I’d LOVE a Vita-Mix! Love isn’t even strong enough of a word to describe my desire to have one in my kitchen. I’ve name dropped and hinted to my family members (who have never heard of one…for SHAME!), but I think I’m going to end up with a Magic Bullet has a gift… Again, I’d LOVE a Vita-Mix. Just thinking of making my own nut butters makes me swoon (is that strange?). :) Happy birthday, HEAB!

jamie December 8, 2009 at 2:50 pm

I would attempt raw soups!

Michele | aka Raw Juice Girl December 8, 2009 at 2:52 pm

Oh my gosh! What a fantabulous contest, Heather!

I’d definitely be whipping up some RAWsome treats like raw nut butters, raw ice creams, various smoothies, and even raw cookies! I’ve been fantasizing about a Vita-Mix – what a BLESSING it would be to WIN ONE!!!!

Thank you so much for hosting this contest!!!!

*smiles*
Michele

leah December 8, 2009 at 3:02 pm

I want a vita-mix! I’d come up with a new hummus recipe every day!

Amandamoo December 8, 2009 at 3:03 pm

Oh my gosh, I’d love to win this. I’ve been using an immersion blender for my green smoothies and it has been so.so.sad eating lumpy, bumpy green smoothie nonsense for years!

Danielle December 8, 2009 at 3:05 pm

OMG! I would die and go to heaven for one of these things! ha ha!!
Banana ice cream all the way!!! Along with all the green monsters I could make.
Awesome give away!

Meghan December 8, 2009 at 3:15 pm

I would use this to make breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert!! Smoothies, soups, pesto, raw spreads, dairy/soy-free ice cream, you name it!

Lindsey @ Sound Eats December 8, 2009 at 3:15 pm

AHHH I would seriously give you my firstborn for this blender. My blender is crap (aka I can’t use it at all!) and I have been dying to get a Vitamix, but I just can’t afford it. I. would. do. anything. for. this. blender. !!!!!!

I’d make a fruit “ice cream” (basically pureed frozen fruit). Simple, but life-changing. ;)

Tiffany December 8, 2009 at 3:18 pm

oops- I think I was supposed to leave a comment here and not on the other post! So here it is:

All I can say say wow- I’d would be ecstatic if I won this! I’ve had my blender for 15 years and while it’s served me well, I think it’s time to say goodbye. You know something is wrong when it can barely blend frozen blueberries. Thanks for the giveaway!

Tiffany December 8, 2009 at 3:21 pm

And to add to my previous post- I would make “dreaming of donut holes” from Ani Phyo’s book. Can you tell I’m just not following directions well today? Thanks!

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 3:23 pm

Hehe – no worries Tiffany. You are definitely entered. :)

homecookedem December 8, 2009 at 3:31 pm

OMG!!!!!!!!!! You are the BEST HEAB! I wanna win this so I can make all kinds of yummy stuff, like banana soft serve!! :) Just went and read through your post about weight loss. Awesome advice!! :)

heather December 8, 2009 at 3:34 pm

I’d probably try every recipe, but to start I’d make a nut butter concoction…or maybe blended oats. Or…both?? AT THE SAME TIME?!?!

Now I’m hungry, dang it.

Great giveaway, great blog, great name! :)

Kendall December 8, 2009 at 3:39 pm

Wow, I’ve been pining after a Vitamix for some time now. As a fellow almond aficionado, I’d love to make my own almond milk, almond butter, almond meal etc. as well as makeing raw dessert endeavors much easier. Not to mention cashew creme, various other nut butters…I could go on and on! My Cuisinart blender started smoking (and not spinning) while making my morning smoothie last weekend, and my food processor is falling apart so this would be a dream come true!

Katie December 8, 2009 at 3:40 pm

You have no idea how many times a week I wish I had a vita-mix! Aside from the obvious nut butters that I would make, I am thinking of all kinds of soups! Root vegetable puree, creamy tomato, avocado… Oh, and obviously smoothies! I’ve been making them in my magic bullet, but it can’t get the good stuff (carrots, greens) really creamy. Oh, man do I want one of these!

Heather December 8, 2009 at 3:41 pm

My video would probably be me making something “boring” – like a green smoothie or some raw soup. Maybe I’d get creative with some hummus or other raw sauces – especially some raw cheese – but smoothies seem to be the best thing to use the VitaMix for!

Such a great giveaway. Keeping my fingers crossed… ;)

Jaime December 8, 2009 at 3:43 pm

I’d absolutely love to own a VitaMix! My current blender is in such awful shape that I rarely use it. I’ve been dreaming about mixing up raw frozen fruit/almond-milk-laden/chocolate-infused treats for awhile, but have been hesitant to try them out on “Old Smokey Blades” for fear of a potential blow up. What an AMAZING contest, Heather! I love your blog!

Erin December 8, 2009 at 3:45 pm

Best giveaway ever! I really want to be able to make smoothies and green monsters.

Leena December 8, 2009 at 3:45 pm

Ohhhh my gosh, I would absolutely die for one of these suckers. I’d film myself making an almond butter oatmeal ice cream. I don’t have a recipe for it yet, but doesn’t it sound kinda dreamy??

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 3:46 pm

*Kinda dreamy* Leena? Sounds totally dreamy to me!

Mandy December 8, 2009 at 3:51 pm

Hey HEAB! I’ve been reading your blog for a little while now and…there’s no better time to come out of the woodwork than now eh? If I won the Vitamix I would make so many meals in my dorm room. Limited options as I don’t have a stove…so a lovely blender like this would help a ton with meals. I think I would show how to make a delicious green smoothie in the “Pitch Me”…people seem to think they look so gross! I think they need a little enlightenment.

P.S. I LOVE your blog. You’ve given me so many food ideas!

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 3:55 pm

Thanks for reading Mandy, and yes, the world needs some green smoothie enlightenment. :)

Kelly Franks December 8, 2009 at 3:52 pm

I would definitely make some nut butters and some smoothies. Ever since I’ve started reading blogs on healthy eating I’ve been very envious of bloggers with Vita-Mix Blender. What a fun Give-away!

Dana December 8, 2009 at 5:03 pm

I want to win this so bad! EVERYONE has Vita Mixer but me :(

Lynna December 8, 2009 at 5:08 pm

Ah i SO want a Vita Mix. I think I would make my own almond milk or maybe the sesame seed milk that Gena recently posted (http://www.choosingraw.com/snowy-sesame-seed-milk/)!

Edith December 8, 2009 at 5:12 pm

smoothies!!! with spinach, because I am that cool :-)

elaine December 8, 2009 at 5:16 pm

i am unashamed to admit that when i read about this giveaway i screamed just a little bit. it would’ve been alright if i wasn’t at the library surrounded by seriously stressed grad students in the midst of dead week. regardless this is still AMAZING!!!! congrats to whoever the lucky winner is! as for me, i would totally film myself making TAHINI!! seriously i can eat that stop nonstop. just give me some tahini and either a bottle of honey or soy sauce. YUMMMMMM

Ann K December 8, 2009 at 5:19 pm

I have always wanted one. Tried juicing and loved it but the machine wasn’t mine. I love so many foods that I can’t have and I see recipes that call for THAT blender to make foods I can eat. I would love a vita-mixer.

I will write a song about you and a song about the mixer if I win! I’ll record it and sent it to you!

LisaCazz December 8, 2009 at 5:20 pm

I’ve actually been watching some of those Vita-mix videos. My BIL & nephew are starring in a couple of them. http://affiliate.kickapps.com/_Bryson-Eats-his-VeggiesVita-Mix-Style/video/840570/22442.html My sister stayed with me over the summer, and after having a Vita-mix green smoothie every morning, she was a convert! I’m pretty sure her Vita-Mix sees some form of chocolate and peanut butter on regular basis. I love making macadamia basil garlic “cheeze” in mine. Super smooth and an awesome topper for a GF pizza with roasted veggies. Hmm…now I’m hungry.

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 9, 2009 at 9:46 am

Lisa, How do you make your macadamia basil garlic cheeze? Sounds like a recipe I would love!!!

Lori Z. December 8, 2009 at 5:20 pm

I don’t know what I would want to film – it seems the VitaMix does everything! I think it would have to be making nut butters though. My poor blender just can’t cut it. And after the video was done I would have to experiment and make protein ice cream with my fresh nut butter on top! YUM!!

Ellen December 8, 2009 at 5:22 pm

GAHHHH! I have been dying for a Vita-Mix… I would definitely make my vegan nutella concoction. Oh please, please, please!

Julie December 8, 2009 at 5:22 pm

I would try to make my own raw nut butters! My food processor just can’t handle it :( .

Tracy December 8, 2009 at 5:27 pm

What an awesome giveaway! I would make a green smoothie for sure!

N.D. December 8, 2009 at 5:29 pm

I would make the raw chocolate chip cookies – cashews, coconut oil, agave nectar. Yum! thanks for the opportunity!

Erica Morris December 8, 2009 at 5:31 pm

I would make… homemade nut milk or butters. I just think it’s amazing that I can make almond milk/butter at home! And man, this would be a great reward for making it through finals week, lol! *fingers crossed*

Morgan December 8, 2009 at 5:37 pm

I’d make pumpkin spice almond butter…mmm! Thanks, HEAB!

skpatterson December 8, 2009 at 5:44 pm

I’d make a good old fashioned green monster. Can’t go wrong with a classic! Thank you, Heather!

Angela December 8, 2009 at 5:44 pm

I would make [nearly] instant veggie soup. That’s why we all want Vita’s so badly–it makes quick work of even raw root vegetables.

Briana December 8, 2009 at 5:46 pm

Creamy cashew Alfredo sauce for some delicious pasta! I think pulverizing those nuts into a smooth tasty cream sauce will sell Vita-Mixes like hotcakes.

Breaking Free December 8, 2009 at 6:00 pm

I would film myself making banana soft serve ice cream with added peanut butter, pumpkin puree, and cinnamon!!

Becky December 8, 2009 at 6:00 pm

Omg omg omg I would die to have this blender!! I am too cheap to buy it. It would be so awesome to win this! I would make all the ice cream recipes I also see on your blog :)

jperonto December 8, 2009 at 6:03 pm

I would make an insane amount of customized nut butters! So many ideas, just don’t have the equipment to make!

Keri S December 8, 2009 at 6:05 pm

What an awesome giveaway! I’ve been dying to get a Vitamix forever!

For the Pitch Me contest, I would probably make some kind of nut butter. I tried to make some almond butter at home in my food processor, and managed to burn out the motor pretty quickly – it would be SO nice to be able to make some creative nut butters without fear :)

Lara (Thinspired) December 8, 2009 at 6:10 pm

You rock. That is all.

…Oh, almond butter. I would almond butter. DUH! ;)

Lola December 8, 2009 at 6:22 pm

Wow, what a prize! I think I would make one of my favorite dishes that I’ve had while living in Spain called Salmorejo. It’s a cold tomato-based soup like Gazpacho but so much richer and creamier.

Lyssa December 8, 2009 at 6:25 pm

I could make so many amazing things in a VitaMix!! Quick cheeeeeze, veggies soups, pesto, frozen banana ice cream … and let’s not forget some killer margaritas!

Danielle S. December 8, 2009 at 6:26 pm

very simply- the amazing banana “ice cream”. I dont need any more than that!

pureblissnutrition December 8, 2009 at 6:30 pm

Wow. I am new to blogging and looking to add to my blog roll at diaryofanutritionist, com. I just came across your blog and am shocked… really? A Vitamix? That is absolutely crazy!

I would have to say that I would make an original coconut milk ice cream…

coconut meat, ice, raw honey, raw unsweetened cocoa powder, a drop of vanilla stevia…

or… pumpkin pie custard… sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie spice, a few drops of vanilla stevia and perhaps a smidgen of organic butter.

Regardless, I look forward to adding you to my blog.
When you have the chance, check mine out!!!

this contest is crazy!! I am excited to see what the winner whips up!

brittany December 8, 2009 at 6:33 pm

Raw brownies with raw chocolate icing – hands down. By the way – congrats on getting to be the vitamix girl – how awesome!

Rez December 8, 2009 at 6:35 pm

In my Vita-Mix demo I’d make nut butter (impressive) and then blend up a smoothie (with gums!) Crossing my fingers for this!

Sara D. December 8, 2009 at 6:36 pm

I would make strawberry sorbet. What a fantastic giveaway! Thanks!

Janet December 8, 2009 at 6:38 pm

Long-time reader here delurking :) I would make my favorite chocolate protein shake with milk, peanut butter, frozen banana, half scoop of chocolate Designer Whey and a handful of spinach. Tastes like a milkshake and keeps me going til lunch! Your blog is lovely, thanks for your hard work :)

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 9:05 pm

Thanks for reading Janet. :)

farebear December 8, 2009 at 6:39 pm

So many things. Nut butters. Ice cream. Green oats. The only scary part is I’ve never filmed myself doing anything in the kitchen. Nerve-wracking. But hey, a VitaMix would be worth it!!

Heather December 8, 2009 at 6:44 pm

I visited Costco for the first time in my entire life this week (I know!), and one of the many demos/samples they had going was of the Vita-mix. O-M-G. You know the rest. Completely amazing. I needed to have one right away and then I saw it…..the price tag! Ouch, if I’m lucky enough to win, I’ll be drowned in nut butters, smoothies and soups forever! Good luck to everyone who enters!

Danielle December 8, 2009 at 6:46 pm

Unfortunately, my food processor recently broke, and my homemade nut butter supply is dwindling. The first thing I would definitely make would be cashew butter and pistachio butter. I’m completely out of cashew butter currently, and I need it in my oatmeal!

Grace December 8, 2009 at 6:47 pm

I want a Vitamix!! I would make lots and lots of hummus!

maggie b December 8, 2009 at 6:55 pm

OMG! it would make my LIFE if i won this. I have been looking into purchasing one but $$$ is tight, ya mean!
first thing i would blend would be a SMOOTHIE with kale, spinach, sprulina, almond milk, flax, ect…
or almond butter, hummus, ICECREAM(fruit)

Claudia December 8, 2009 at 6:55 pm

Ooo. A blender! That would be pretty darn useful to have!

electropositive December 8, 2009 at 6:57 pm

wow a vitamix!

I would make a vid making broccoli cream soup! (the healthy trick is chickpeas instead of cream, it makes the exact same consistancy!)

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 9:06 pm

electropositive, Chickpeas? Really? Cool. Thanks for the tip!

ohhmay December 8, 2009 at 7:02 pm

Heather, you are so so generous!! I can not tell you how much it would mean to win this! My 17 year old blender cracked a year ago so I have to hold a towel to the side to prevent it from leaking!! haha
The FIRST thing I’d make is a “chocolate frosty” for my brother (AkA a thick guar and xanthen smoothie with spinach, cocoa, and Jay Robb!!) He told me he’ll only eat one of my concotions if it tastes like a frosty, and that boy needs some nutrients!!!!
Then I would probably name it, propose to it (and you) and live happily ever after!!!

Stephen December 8, 2009 at 7:09 pm

I would make hummus, mostly because my roommate destroyed our previous blender by filling it to the brim with chick peas and turning it on until it filled the room with a terrible burning smell. But the thoughts of all the delicious hummus creations that could come from this! Glorious.

Denise December 8, 2009 at 7:10 pm

OMG!! Seriously!! Count me in!! It would mean so much to me to win this. I have wanted one for years, especially since I have gotten better about taking care of myself (I’ve lost 137 lbs and counting). I think that it would be very useful in losing the last 60 lbs or so, because I’m doing more smoothies and my current blender sucks!!!

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 9:07 pm

Denise, Wow. Good for you. Good luck!

The Foodie Diaries December 8, 2009 at 7:11 pm

Either hummus or a smoothie! Probably a smoothie–because I feel like they are more camera-friendly.

If I owned a vitamix, I would SO enter. But that’s just because I’m a camera whore.

Mark December 8, 2009 at 7:11 pm

I would like to win a smoothie for my wife. She would love it!

Emily December 8, 2009 at 7:30 pm

Wow, a Vita-Mix giveaway! That’s amazing! My dad has been so jealous of all the amazing raw, delicious things I’ve made in mine, but he (and I both!) really don’t have the money for another. I would love to give him a Vita-Mix so he won’t only be able to have amazing raw juices, desserts, and other treats when he visits me.

monica December 8, 2009 at 7:31 pm

Oh my bullet would thank you so much for this one….I’ve been very into hummus lately so I think i would come up with a killer hummus to make….edamame maybe? Excellent giveaway, this would def. be a good one for me to FINALLY win….:) Always a bridesmaid I tellya:)

Sarena December 8, 2009 at 7:34 pm

Wow, this is an amazing giveaway! OOOOH that is a tough call on the commercial. I would say either nut butters or an ice cream (I think a butter pecan flavor would be amazing!)!

Emily GG December 8, 2009 at 7:38 pm

sweetandnatural December 8, 2009 at 7:40 pm

Ahhh!!! So exciting. I would love to make all sorts of delicious homemade nut butters – chocolate almond butter, cinnamon hazelnut butter, vanilla pistachio butter. Yummmmmm.

Brooks December 8, 2009 at 7:46 pm

Great contest!

ali December 8, 2009 at 7:55 pm

I’ ve never made a smoothie-so that would be my first choice! :)

Carolyn December 8, 2009 at 8:01 pm

Karla December 8, 2009 at 8:02 pm

I would most definitely make chocolate PB banana “ice cream”

Annie December 8, 2009 at 8:05 pm

I would love to win a Vita… I just finished up a raw culinary class at 105 Degrees and have trying to replicate recipes in my crappy blender at home.

A vitamix would definitely help! I would make either the raw pumpkin ginger pie or the raw chocolate pecan pie that I made for my final presentation… Both were AWESOME!

Queen December 8, 2009 at 8:09 pm

I would be the overly enthusiastic in the commercial! I would film myself making green smoothies – what else? I’ve wanted a Vitamix since I first started learning about eating raw foods.

Shannon December 8, 2009 at 8:11 pm

I would film myself making a green smoothie. I hear that they are best made in the VitaMix. Pick me!!!!

Nancy December 8, 2009 at 8:16 pm

Oh, my goodness, I would love to win a Vitamix! I love making shakes, and they really tax my weak little blender.

Katrina (gluten free gidget) December 8, 2009 at 8:18 pm

GAH!!!!!! Please, please, please pick me!

Maggie December 8, 2009 at 8:22 pm

HOLY CRAP awesome giveaway!!! I want it!

Maggie December 8, 2009 at 8:23 pm

Oh whoops I didn’t say what I would film… gazpacho of course!

Amy Ackerman December 8, 2009 at 8:24 pm

My best friend just bought a Vita-Mix and ever since I saw it’s unparalleled performance, I can’t stop thinking about it! Everytime I use my household blender, I just get depressed that I don’t have a Vita-Mix :(

If I had a Vita-Mix, I would made 3 meals a day with it!

Breakfast: Green Smoothie
Spinach
Blueberries
Banana
Yogurt

Lunch:
Peanut Butter! My friend made peanut butter in her Vita-Mix – it was like nothing I have ever tried!!!

Dinner: Butternut Squash Soup
Last winter I made Butternut Squash soup. My arms were sore and I was a sweating mess by the end of that experience. I will never made Butternut Squash soup until I have the convenience of a Vita-Mix.

If I have a Vita-Mix I will tell everyone about it!!!! I’m keeping my fingers crossed to win this new Vita-Mix so I can truly live the VITA-MIX LIFESTYLE!!!

Casey Thomas December 8, 2009 at 8:26 pm

Hi Heather, great opportunity, thank you!!
I think the question for me would be more “What wouldn’t you make??!!! :
I would be focusing on raw soups, raw ice creams and fresh delicious smoothies. I have been hankering for a frozen banana, blueberry, spinach, coconut water, ice and cinnamon smoothie so that could be my first in line! YUM!
Thanks again!
Casey xx

tmart December 8, 2009 at 8:28 pm

I would make pecan butter- I’ve never seen it in stores, and would love to demo the power of the vita mix in action! The ultimate nut butter machine!

caschleich December 8, 2009 at 8:29 pm

Hi Heather! I have been reading your blog for a while, but this is my first comment. I love reading your blog because I have very similar tastes in food as you and you always have creative ideas! I have been making smoothies for the longest time for breakfast, lunch, or an easy dinner and a vita mix would be perfect. I am a medical student right now with some limited funds and a vita mix has been on my list for a while. First thing I would make is the protein ice cream I saw on here. It looks delicious!

Sara December 8, 2009 at 8:34 pm

I think I’d make some sort of smoothie or soup…because those are the two things I’d love to try in my new Vita-Mix! Thanks for the opportunity!

Brett December 8, 2009 at 8:38 pm

I would film myself making my famous carrot curry soup (that currently takes hours on the stove) in minutes flat!

Angelalovesfood December 8, 2009 at 8:39 pm

I would make my own peanut/almond butter with an added twist! :)

Brandi B. December 8, 2009 at 8:43 pm

This is the mixer of all mixers!!! What a fabulous thing to give away–everyone should own one or two:) (one for home and one for the office—who knows, pretty soon everyone will be drinking green smoothies instead of coffee!) Winning anything would be exciting

april December 8, 2009 at 8:45 pm

I would film myself making homemade salsa with fresh peppers, tomatoes, and garlic!

Laura G December 8, 2009 at 8:53 pm

I would definitely make what my daughter calls an “Almond Joy” smoothie – almond butter, cocoa, coconut, chia, spinach and almond milk. It’s our favorite breakfast :-)

CaitlinRose December 8, 2009 at 8:58 pm

Who wouldn’t love a vitamix! my blender has been dying for a while now, and smells like burning hair when it is on for more than 30 seconds. not good.

I would make what I make now, but it would be much better ;) — green smoothies, banana ice cream, hummus, soups, nut butters…..

nellieshaul December 8, 2009 at 9:05 pm

This is amazing! I would definitely have to make my favorite…pumpkin spice almond butter!

Melinda H. December 8, 2009 at 9:08 pm

Oh man! What wouldn’t I make? :)

If I had to be filmed I would keep my pitch simple… Like soup or a protein shake!

Best giveaway EVER, Heather! Thanks for the contest!

Jan December 8, 2009 at 9:08 pm

Wow….I can’t wait to try some of the awesome recipes you bloggers have posted! Thank you, Heather, for your “favorite” posts! You and your site sure are popular and I look forward to seeing you in my inbox everyday! Congrats on a great first year!

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 9:13 pm

Thanks Jan. :)

allie December 8, 2009 at 9:18 pm

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 9:23 pm

Thanks Mandie. Always happy to spread the almond butter love. :)

melissa December 8, 2009 at 9:23 pm

You must have some serious clout and fans out there…b/c this is the macdaddy of giveaways…hope I win b/c my blender had it’s funeral yesterday.

Anna December 8, 2009 at 9:27 pm

With the weather being a good 18 degrees tonight, I would definitely be making some good hot and fresh tomato or tortilla soup. Thanks so much for your offer! I would love to win one!

Aileen December 8, 2009 at 9:27 pm

I would totally make some green smoothies! They never come out as well in my blender as I imagine they’d be with a Vita-Mix!

roya December 8, 2009 at 9:27 pm

oh my gosh. I would die to have a Vita-Mix. I would make some amazing smoothies in that thing on my video. And I never even knew that you could make nut butter in a blender, so that would definitely be on the to-do list.

lz December 8, 2009 at 9:38 pm

Heather, thank you so much for hosting this generous giveaway! If I were to enter the video contest, I’d film myself making soup in the Vita-Mix! I think the heating option of the blender really opens up new options for cooking, and I’d love to try creating some split pea, lentil, or black-bean soups. Hearty and comforting!

danielle December 8, 2009 at 9:41 pm

oh heck yes i needs me a vita-mix!

Sarah December 8, 2009 at 9:44 pm

There are no words for how much I would love a VitaMix! I would make a southwestern corn chowder – I’m fascinated by the fact that you can actually make a warm soup in a VitaMix!

amyjogo December 8, 2009 at 9:46 pm

I’d love to make 100% fruit sorbets with a VitaMix. It just seems that with other blenders, they don’t have the strength or oomph necessary to pulverize frozen fruit into a smooth and creamy concoction.

Tricia December 8, 2009 at 9:46 pm

Best giveaway ever!

and

Green Monsters!

Annie December 8, 2009 at 9:50 pm

I think right now Id try and make a yummy, warm soup, like butternut squash or something!

Lika December 8, 2009 at 9:51 pm

I am going back to school and I would love to have a vitamix to make sure I eat healthy. Please Heab, can I win this please? :-)

btw, love your blog.

acappletop December 8, 2009 at 9:52 pm

Secret reader here! Couldn’t resist…I would make this delicious cold blended white bean soup my mom makes (she has a Vita-Mix back at home). It’s milky and tastes so simple and yummy with a pinch of sea salt and asian buckwheat noodles added. It may not sound HEABy, but I swear you would love it! :)

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 10:04 pm

acappletop, Soup sounds good to me. I think I would love it. :)

Jessica December 8, 2009 at 10:07 pm

After all of my failed attempts at “winning” a vitamix on ebay, my list of things to make (if i had one) has grown long with everything from nut butters, nut milks, to sauces and smoothies. But what I would really love is to be able to make homemade healthy ice cream for my very unhealthy family, my thyroid disease has taught me the ways of healthy eating but I think my family would benefit from a much more easier push towards health.

PeonyJen December 8, 2009 at 10:17 pm

SERIOUSLY!?!?!?!

I just added a VitaMix to my Christmas wishlist. It’s all I’ve been reading about over the last year…here and in another cookbook.
Goodness, I so need a VitaMix to whip up everything I read about on your blog, which has opened up some doors for me in our very-allergic/breastfeeding household.
Protein ice cream? Yeah, never heard of it until HEAB. I definitely need to start researching a higher protein diet and how to bake with non-nut-higher-protein grains. No nuts in our house! :(
BUT, if I were to own the illustrious Vita-Mix 5200 (nobody in my family would even think of buying it for us), I’d be whipping up some chia seed, maca powder, Sunbutter, tahini, Kabocha with skin, pumpkin, chocolate, stevia, banana and oat ice cream. How’s that sound?
LOL

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 8, 2009 at 10:19 pm

PeonyJen, Delicious. :)

Stephanie December 8, 2009 at 10:40 pm

What would I do with a Vita-Mix? Everything I’ve seen on your blog! We wore out our Vita-Mix a few years ago, had it 25 years, they are built well!

Currently using an Oster blender that replaced the Vita-Mix. It is on its last legs, it wasn’t meant to grind seeds or make nutbutters. Thanks for the chance.

Shirley December 8, 2009 at 10:59 pm

oh my goodness, i would make my own nut butter! there are so many recipes that i’d like to try out that require a blender (and i don’t even have a generic blender!). it’d be fun to make all sorts of ice cream creations too! and blended oats!

you are too kind!

Gaby December 8, 2009 at 11:12 pm

I want to win something! A vitamix would be so amazing! I’ve only ever owned cheap blenders that leak.
I would of course make tons of nut butters in all kinds of fancy variations. I really want to try a pistachio cranberry one!
Then I think I’d also have to show how I make my morning green “mocha frappucino’s”.
And duh, anything kabocha (speaking of, I may try to make it outside of Houston to the vietnamese market tomorrow, I hope they have it!)

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 9, 2009 at 5:41 am

Gaby, I hope you find some kabocha today!

GK December 8, 2009 at 11:17 pm

Awesome give-away! Totally outing myself as a lurker =)~. I would have to go with ice cream or sweet almond butter sauce.

Kat H December 8, 2009 at 11:20 pm

Oh man, there are so many things I would make using the Vita Mix! Smoothies, pesto, hummus, nut butters and salad dressing…see there are too many things to choose from! However, if I have to pick one thing to make with the Vita Mix it would have to be Tomato Basil soup. I wish I had a Vita Mix, because a bowl of hot soup sounds so yummy right now!!

Becca December 8, 2009 at 11:22 pm

I would make a zillion different smoothies and shakes! my favorite kind is a chocolate pb and banana shake:)

Amy December 8, 2009 at 11:29 pm

I would make smoothies and raw almond butter. I miss that stuff. It is way too expensive out here ($21/jar) and we have no Trader Joe’s less than a 4 hour drive away. *sniff, sniff*

Ilana December 8, 2009 at 11:31 pm

raw chocolate cheesecake!!! omg i’m a broke college kid lusting after this blender…ahhh!

M B December 8, 2009 at 11:34 pm

I would flim the making of raw pumpkin pie filling, and maybe some cookie dough fudge babies! :)

Jaya December 8, 2009 at 11:45 pm

I would use this for things beyond my imagination..things that I could only imagine if I had one. Great giveaway.. thanks for the opportunity to enter!

candice December 8, 2009 at 11:48 pm

I would make a plethora of nut butters and soups. :]

Susie December 9, 2009 at 1:44 am

What an exciting give away!!! I would use this blender to make the BEST smoothies :D

Damjana December 9, 2009 at 2:12 am

I’d make better’n cozy shack oatmeal pudding with tofu!
What nice folks at Vitamix

Deadra December 9, 2009 at 2:19 am

I would just make a simple and yummy green smoothie, because that’s what I do best and I wouldn’t want to make a fool of myself trying to make something more complicated. However in my spare time I would try to make everything that you’ve ever blogged about and what a lot of people above me have mentioned.
Oh I hope I win, I’ve wanted a vita mix for so long. I’m trying very hard to burn out the motor on my current blender so I can warrent getting one!

Jess December 9, 2009 at 2:51 am

I would definitely make nut butter, but for a demonstration I’d probably do a raw soup that could be gently heated through the power of Vita-awesomeness. I have an idea for a broccoli “cheese” soup circulating right now.

Lindsey December 9, 2009 at 3:03 am

I would blend up some of that delicious protein-kabocha ice cream! You always make me jealous with the smooth texture that the Vitamix gives!

Keegan December 9, 2009 at 3:40 am

This is seriously an incredible giveaway, basically ditto to all the above comments! My dinky little blender just can’t cut it for homemade nut butters, so that would be exactly what I would want first!!

Jeannie December 9, 2009 at 3:59 am

What an incredible prize. I have killed my cheap-o blender. If I were selected to receive this ultimate prize, I wouldn’t know where to begin…..almond milk, nut butters, raw soups, elaborate smoothies that I can only dream about now….the ideas are endless. My fingers are crossed! ;-)

fruitsveggieslife December 9, 2009 at 4:10 am

I’ve been DYING to get my hands on one of these! I would make some sort of banana soft-serve – tahini style in honor of HEAB!

justine December 9, 2009 at 5:02 am

I would make a video of me making a plethora of nut butters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would never ever end!!!

Had fun at the kettlebell class. Send me the pic when you get a chance :)

Love you,
Justine

sals December 9, 2009 at 5:37 am

smoothies? ice cream? it all sounds good!

Kate December 9, 2009 at 6:04 am

I would film me making my new recipe for “Elvis” Protein Ice Cream – a little peanut butter, a good bit of bananas, and a whole lot of delicious. Mmmm. Of course there are some other ingredients too, but right now those are “secret”. Heheh.

Anna December 9, 2009 at 6:06 am

OMG! I’ve been waiting for a vitamix giveaway forever! I would make HUMMUS!

Lisa December 9, 2009 at 6:11 am

I was on call at the hospital last night and we were talking about how fabulous these are. I want one please: my coworkers made me jealous. I would make nutella from scratch.

Svetlana December 9, 2009 at 6:40 am

I’d LOVE to have Vita-mix! I would make anything with coconut – coconut smoothies, raw coconut cheesecakes and other coconutty things!

Beth December 9, 2009 at 6:57 am

Oh my gosh, I would absolutely LOVE a Vita-Mix!!! I’ve been wanting one for ages! The first thing I’d make would be nut butter – as my other blenders can’t do the job. I’m trying to feed our fam of 6 better, and this would be a HUGE help! I can’t imagine how much I’d save making my own nut butters/hummus/soups/etc! Pick me pick me! :)

kathryn December 9, 2009 at 7:00 am

I have only DREAMED of a vita-mix!!! I would probably blend every single meal, I would be such a happy girl!!

maggie December 9, 2009 at 7:25 am

wow, what a generous gift. i would love to make some fun nut butters!

Becca December 9, 2009 at 7:30 am

AUGHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Are you kidding? You are seriously giving a Vita-Mix away? I almost screamed at the computer on this early morning!
I would spend ALL MY TIME in front of my Vita-Mix, making every concoction that came into my mind…BUT especially Katie’s Fudge Babies, which I still have not been able to try because I broke my food processor. Wagh! But you can help me in my quest…will you help me, Heather? PLEASE???

Colleen December 9, 2009 at 7:51 am

I gave up trying to even save up $$$ for one of these, telling myself “you’re twenty– you’ve got plenty of time to build up the kitchen you’d love.” I would definitely want to make nutmilk first!

fartygirl December 9, 2009 at 7:53 am

In light of the most generous giveaway of the VitaMix, I have wracked my brain to come up with ideas.

The result? Pumpkin Potty Shakes. The Ingredients: Pumpkin, chocolate, rice protein powder, spirulina, almond butter, almond milk, and dates (or applesauce, or stevia).

I would make them every day. Well, maybe not EVERY day. But at least once a week.

Why are they called Potty shakes? The chocolate, of course. And the high fiber content. Ideal for someone who cares about a healthy colon. Like me.

BUT the coolest thing about Potty shakes is… they can be made as ice cream or puddin’ as well. Just add ice or less almond milk.

Having IBS, I go through phases where I can eat ONLY blended foods and smoothies. So to me, the VitaMix is not simply a kitchen appliance. It is a way of life.

Erin December 9, 2009 at 8:11 am

I’ve been DYING to try your protein ice cream forever!!!

AH December 9, 2009 at 8:15 am

WOW! I never thought that I would have the chance to enter a contest to win one of these! Just the possibility of winning makes me giddy! This is definitely a de-lurking moment for me, but the opportunity is too great to resist. I would definitely be make an exotic nut butter. Maybe a pineapple-coconut macadamia nut butter or caramel-apple walnut butter — or better yet, white-chocolate pumpkin pecan butter. Yum!

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 9, 2009 at 8:26 am

AH, Damn. You’re welcome to come over to my house any time and use my Vita-Mix. CD and I would be happy to taste test all of your nut butter recipe ideas. :)

tami December 9, 2009 at 8:26 am

i would wait until our blueberries and blackberries were ready next summer, add in some fresh picked strawberries and make the best smoothies!

Nicole December 9, 2009 at 8:33 am

Personally… .I would make some raw walnut brownies with a creamy cashew/coconut topping!!!! YUM! I want to win this thing!

wendy December 9, 2009 at 8:53 am

holy mustard! wow…what a give away…what would i do with it…well smoothies seem an awesome place to start. then some blended soups. from there? well we would just have to see how far google could take me:)

ashlie December 9, 2009 at 9:14 am

Vita-Mix me please! I have been wanting/needing a blender for forever…I could really use a powerful vita-mix!!

Angie (Losing It and Loving It) December 9, 2009 at 9:21 am

I have heard great things about the Vita Mix. I would want to make homemade soup. I don’t cook but I imagine I could whip something up with this and make hubby happy.

Just found your blog so I look forward to reading it more.

Heather Eats Almond Butter December 9, 2009 at 9:23 am

Angie, Glad you found me. :)

gretchen December 9, 2009 at 9:21 am

Deirdre December 9, 2009 at 9:28 am

I would love to make my own soup with a Vita-Mix.

Angie McGovern December 9, 2009 at 9:29 am

I would make Hummus and Almond butter (obvs ;) ). What a great giveaway!

lucy December 9, 2009 at 9:35 am

i would make smoothies every single day.

nancy fleecs December 9, 2009 at 9:37 am

Oooooh how exciting!!! My video would show the world how conveinent Vita Mix makes healthy living easier and I would show several different Green Smoothie recipes!!! I would have to share the one where my Vita Mix grinds up an avacado seed………..proof is in the puddin’!

Marisa December 9, 2009 at 9:38 am

i have been wanting a vita mix for sooooooo long! there are so many recipes I can’t make in my current blender :(

Andrea (Off Her Cork) December 9, 2009 at 9:38 am

I make smoothies every dang day for the hubs and me. :D Nice smoothies with juice, greens, and fruit. I would demonstrate how one can drink a smoothie with kale or spinach and love it because it tastes great! :D I would also whip up some seasonal specials to add to coffee for a nice treat that is a lot cheaper than StarB$, tastes better and is better for you! :D

Amy J December 9, 2009 at 9:41 am

What wouldn’t I make is the question! :) I would definitely start making my own nut milks!

Lyss December 9, 2009 at 9:43 am

Home-made hummus!!! I failed miserably trying to make it with my $10 blender and would LOVE to redeem myself!!

Katherine December 9, 2009 at 9:50 am

This requires no thought… soup!!

kristin f December 9, 2009 at 9:51 am

Wow! This is an amazing giveaway! I’ve always wanted to be able to throw a whole vanilla bean into something without scraping the middle out and wasting a lot of the rest. I think I would make a raspberry and peach smoothie with a whole vanilla bean, and lots of ice (because I would know it would actually blend in!).

stacy December 9, 2009 at 9:55 am

Soup! No doubt about it. I have so many recipes I love that I don’t make anymore because it’s too hard in the blender. This momma of twins who love soup NEEDS a Vita-Mix!!!

Heather December 9, 2009 at 10:03 am

My favorite are almond milk and bananna smoothies with chocolate protein powder, amazing grass and spinach. Strange combo but I’m tellin’ ya, it’s fantastic!

Jenny December 9, 2009 at 10:06 am

The real question is – what wouldn’t I make with a Vitamix?

Tyler December 9, 2009 at 10:07 am

Chocolate almond butter ice cream! Love love love!!!!

KelleyK December 9, 2009 at 10:09 am

If I won the VitaMix, I would make a Green Monster! I love seeing those shakes on everyone’s blogs.

Thx!

amy December 9, 2009 at 10:12 am

how glorious it would be to make my favorite nut butter (almond) in a jiffy rather than the, uh, like hour it takes now. i hope i win!!

Melissa December 9, 2009 at 10:27 am

Definitely banana ice cream – I’ve been wishing I could make it myself for months but my blender just won’t do it! I’ve been coveting a Vita-Mix for years now and would love to win!

Becci December 9, 2009 at 10:29 am

I would make a green monster! I have never had one (nor have I ever owned a blender!) and I would LOVE to try one!

amy December 9, 2009 at 10:45 am

Ah i think my first comment got lost in a surge of other comments! It would be heavenly to have a vitamix and finally be able to whip up my favorite nut butter in a jiffy rather than the, uh, like hour or so it now takes in my trusty little food processor (what a trooper!). With the luxury of all that extra time i could even experiment with different variations like chocolate almond butter, hazlenut almond butter, cinnamon spice almond butter…can you tell im obsessed?! I so hope i win!

Sarah December 9, 2009 at 10:45 am

Ahh! Vitamix party! This would be GLORIOUS

Chandra December 9, 2009 at 10:47 am

What would I make…how about what wouldn’t I make!!! I have a cheap little blender that I make my morning smoothie with but I would love to make one of your protein ice creams.

Brynne December 9, 2009 at 10:51 am

Butternut squash soup – yummm :0) !

Cindy December 9, 2009 at 10:57 am

Easy, my morning smoothie of soy milk, banana, spinach and protein powder!

Liz December 9, 2009 at 11:00 am

ooh, pick me! i’ve been wanting a vita mix for a while now but it’s just not in the budget currently. i think i’d like to film myself making my own nut butter-and probably some of that protein ice cream too!

Katie December 9, 2009 at 11:01 am

um ice cream…duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

amsterwill83 December 9, 2009 at 11:03 am

I would love to make smoothies, soups, and nut butters!

Katie December 9, 2009 at 11:24 am

Banana Chocolate protein ice cream!

Nicole December 9, 2009 at 11:29 am

ahh do I EVER need a vitamix…my old blender is completely shot (although it was incapable of grinding flax for averie’s donut holes anyway) and sadly my grad school budget certainly won’t be facilitating its replacement any time soon…

Julie December 9, 2009 at 11:31 am

Almond butter!! It can do that right?? Wait, what am I saying. The Vita-mix can do anything.

Michelle December 9, 2009 at 11:33 am

I’ve been dreaming of owning one of these!!! I would make different types of nut butters, then use those in a yummy, chocolatey dessert. And I’d probably make some ice-cream too. Awesome giveaway!

Meg December 9, 2009 at 11:38 am

I would probably demonstrate how to make thai pumpkin soup! I want a Vita-mix so bad!

Celestial December 9, 2009 at 11:39 am

I would make a sreiously smooth green veggie smoothie. I drank the daily when I was an employee with a vitamix in the lunchroom, and I miss them so bad! Regular blender chunky green drinks are not quite so charming.

Meghan C. December 9, 2009 at 11:42 am

I want to make nut butters! My poor little $30 blender just can’t manage the task…

Joe December 9, 2009 at 11:48 am

I would make a nice big green smoothie. I would love to videotape it and show it off to all my relatives who had to see me scoff at eating my veggies for the past twenty years, their reaction may be worth the cost of the blender!

Kimberly December 9, 2009 at 11:51 am

I can think of all kinds of fun things to make, but smoothies & ice cream are the first to come to mind. YUM!!

Kim

Heather December 9, 2009 at 11:51 am

I just followed your instructions for nut butter with my food processor and the first thing I’d try out with a Vita-mix would be nut butters!

misti December 9, 2009 at 12:05 pm

I doubt I even have a chance, but what the hey…I want one!

sewwhatsarahs December 9, 2009 at 12:05 pm

I would film myself making a delicious smoothie, mostly because it’s what I’m craving at the moment.

Danielle Enns December 9, 2009 at 12:06 pm

I won’t lie when I say I’ve spent a couple good hours staring longingly at the vita-mix website…my eyes peeled back and my mouth salivating at the thought of all of the insanely delicious things I could make with it. My wal-mart blender doesn’t exactly do the trick sometimes, if you know what I mean. :)

The possibilities! I could whip up gallons of green monsters, my own homemade almond milk, nut butters….but if I had to film myself making something (oh, the horror) it would definitely be a batch of your protein ice cream, pumpkin style with either a little (okay, maybe a lot) of tahini or some hazelnut butta. Mmmmm….

sarah December 9, 2009 at 12:07 pm

I would really love a vitamix! The blades on the old blender I have now are bent. I don’t even know how that happens but to say the least it doesn’t work well at all.

Andrea December 9, 2009 at 12:15 pm

Oh.my.goodness! i have lusted after one of these forever! i would love to make ice cream, smoothies, soup, and nut butters. obviously!

Lea December 9, 2009 at 12:15 pm

oh heabs…this is just too much. i would love to win the HG of all appliances.

i can finally make my monster smoothies without blowing a circuit. wee~

danihainds December 9, 2009 at 12:19 pm

Only the best Christmas gift ever! It has been on my list for years.

ForTheLoveOfBerries December 9, 2009 at 12:23 pm

AHHH!! Vita-Mix?! Really? Put me on the list! I will absolutely make use of my spinach and red beets along with the necessary banana. Splash of soymilk to complete the order. Oh my lovely Vita-Mix, if only you can be mine. I will treat you with such care, I’d pick you over my Valentine :)

Lisa S December 9, 2009 at 12:28 pm

The first thing I would make is a smoothie, which isn’t very original, but I’m so JEALOUS of how SMOOTH everyone’s Vitamix smoothies look compared to mine!!

Jenn December 9, 2009 at 12:38 pm

Wow! How awesome it would be to make my Green Monsters faster in my own Vita Mix. I would also love to be able to make my own AB!! Thanks!
Jenn

katie December 9, 2009 at 12:49 pm

um this may be the best giveaway ever – i’d definitely make my favorite “green” smoothie with it [even though it turns out to be more of a blue-black color ;) ].

Rachel H December 9, 2009 at 1:00 pm

Wow great giveaway! I’d make homemade nut butters or almond milk. Thank you so much!

luckytastebuds December 9, 2009 at 1:02 pm

The most easy yet difficult-to-make if you have a crappy $20 blender dessert in the world – banana soft-serve. Except I would definitely customize it so i can put in some pumpkin too!!

Steph December 9, 2009 at 1:07 pm

I. want. this. bad.

I have to pick only one thing to make?!?! Oh my gosh. I think I would make Katies fudge, cookie or pumpkin babies!

Jana December 9, 2009 at 1:10 pm

Wow this is definitely an exciting giveaway :-) I love the vitamix and like to use my aunt’s whenever I can, but unfortunately I am a poor college student and won’t be able to buy my own for a very long time! BUT to win a vitamix and be the tv star would just be too much!! anyways, i would make blended oats by cooking 1/2 cup oats in 1/2 cup soy milk, 1/2 cup water, 1 tbsp. cocoa, peanut butter and agave with a little vanilla extract. After that I would blend it all up in my vitamix! Then, if I had time, I would blend up my own whipped topping in the vitamix and fold it into my oats to create a “mousse” like texture! YUM YUM YUM
